Finally done, sorry for taking so long. Also, am I the only one who doesn't like the term 'Cutie Mark'. Even in the context of a cheap show meant to sell toys to little girls, it feels like a weird term.
Name: Fair Deal
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Earth Pony
Cutie Mark: Two documents, one slightly overlapped on top of the other.
Special Talent: He has an exceptional talent for getting ponies to come to agreements or to end fights.
Fundamental: Humility
Appearance: Fair Deal is a bit on the small side for an Earth Stallion. He has a yellow coat with a red tail and mane. His mane is shaggy, covering most of his neck and the top of his head but he keep it trimmed at the front so none goes into his eyes. Due to a bad incident with some magic scissors, his tail is cut short and doesn't grow. His eyes are a bright green color. His cutie mark is as described above. He doesn't really wear clothes unless a situation calls for them.
Personality: Fair Deal is a nice guy who likes to help others. He has a real knack for helping others work out disputes all without asking for anything for himself. He rarely loses his temper or yells, but his dedication to helping others can get out of hand where he has a hard time letting an issue go if the other parties involved just drop it without any sort of real resolution. He also sometimes butts into discussions where his help was unwanted, or doesn't fully understand the situation so he accidentally leans towards one side instead of making the agreement fair. These situations can turn out less than good, which can upset Fair Deal at the thought that his attempts to be helpful turn out harmful.
Outside of helping with agreements, Fair Deal still likes to help others. He isn't the smartest or best at physical labor, but he'll do his hardest to help out if needed. He never asks for payment and doesn't like having his work pointed out to others. He is unselfish and puts the needs and desires of others above his own. Fair Deal can take his humility too far and start putting himself down and has a hard time making agreements with others for himself because he doesn't want to help himself too much.
History: Fair Deal was born and raised in the small town of Ponyville. His parents, Great Deal and Sweet Deal, were salesponies who sold carts and carriages. In school, Fair Deal was a rather average child. Like many kids in Ponyville, he got his cutie mark early on in life. He discovered his ability to help people come to agreements when two of the other kids in his class started an argument over who should be the editor on the school newspaper. Normally that would've been when the teacher stepped in, but Fair Deal did first and helped the two come to an agreement where they worked together on the position. His cutie mark did not show itself immediately after that event, but over the next few weeks he really started helping out around school and stopping fights. Finally, one day after helping two arguing friends fix their friendship.
Fair Deal grew up happy to help others and was reasonably popular in school. Unfortunately his constant attention to helping others led to problems like his butting in and low self-worth mentioned above, but it was never enought to screw up his life or something like that.
A few years ago, Fair Deal was surprised to learn that some ponies from his own hometown worked together to take down Nightmare Moon. He was even more surprised when he learned who it was-the new librarian, that pony he bought apples from, Pinkie Pie, that one with the botique, the pegasus all the kids liked, and the pegasus all the kids liked. He wasn't close to any of them or friends with the six, but he still knew most of them-that librarian had just moved to town, but he knew the others at least a little-and was surprised normal ponies could rise up to take down an evil princess. He was even more surprised to learn of them taking down Discord, a being that everyone knew took both of the princesses to take down the first time he appeared.
Inspired by the deeds of who he once thought to be normal ponies could take down powerful beings, Fair Deal decided to travel around Equestria. He had recently returned home and was asleep when Tambelon arose. He tried to reason with the Vudkolaks, but when that didn't work he was forced to run and hide in the small town, doing his best to avoid the monsters.
