^Yeah, probably a glitch, my Manectric still had static when it evolved.




^True, but lightningrod works better in a double battle.
If you send out two pokemon and one has lightningrod, then if your foe uses an electrical attack on your other pokemon, (The one without L.R.) the lightningrod pokemon will 'draw' the attack, and take it. This is why it works better on Rhydon (And Marowak) because they're immune to electricity.

since you seem to know alot about it...what if both pokes on the field have lightning rod?

Also your game is Glitched that sucks ah well just use manetric in frontier battle tower x2 battles

IT'S NOT A GLITCH!!
Just catch a Manectric in the wild with Static if you really want it.
For the question of the above poster, I'm not really sure..Maybe it would just have a 50/50 chance of it going to either of the Pokemon.

You do put up a good point, Bad Skitty...and I see where you're coming from. It's just that in all my experiences with 3rd Gen evolutions, not once has this happened, hence my leading to believe that it was indeed a glitch. Which it may be, as nothing has been proven yet to my knowledge.

@Guyinamask: I'm not entirely sure, but I'm guessing that in such a case as you described, the Lightningrod abilities will cancel each other out, and the Electric attack will hit the intended target. Leaving up the target to a flip of a coin just seems too foreign a battle mechanic for me.

I was talking about those Pokemon whose evolutions have exactly the same ability options as them. Of course we won't be seeing an Arena Trap Flygon or a Swift Swim Gyarados any time soon....

2.That is what is supposed to happen.It is actually meant for Double battles(It is a lot better on Rhydon)

2. It may take the damage, but this is definitely useful with a gyrados in double battle

I think you may be hallucinating. Abilities don't change when evolving, unless the evolved form has a specific ability.....

If you really think your Electrike had Static before it evolved, then it probably is a glitch. My Manectric had Static before and after it evolved, so you may just have throught it said Static, but it didn't.

Just go out and catch another Electrike with Static.
