They're actually pretty good for gimp banners, decent coloring and brushing for a relatively simple program.

Woah, haven't posted in fanart for a long time. Anyways, good banners. Brushing is decent, and the text work is okay-ish. I really think you should work on your borders though, and try to mix up your foreground effects too. Don't always go for scanlines, things like dots, or even swirls work well. Sorry I can't give you a more in-depth review, I'm not really familliar with gimp. Though, I've been looking for a good free editing program ever since my PSPX trial ran out. So I am probably going to download gimp. So maybe after I familiarize myself with it I can give you a more detailed explanation of what you did wrong and how you can improve.

Seriously, these are really good! How long do they take to make? I have photoshop elements, I recently bought Paint shop pro, but I have no clue how to use it. XD

I wonder if I can download brushes for it...

Each banner takes about 20 minutes to an hour to make, depending on whther I have to cut the pictures out or if they're already rendered.

I used a new grunge method provided by my friend. Brush a background in black and white then colorize it.

Normally I don't find banners very intresting or requiring in artistic skill but yours are way off the hook, they look awsome. I change my opinion to other banners but yours are sweet.

The lighting and shading match is sweet. I should use a different word but I think its the high definition and contrast as well as being in your face that makes them that way.
