Sounds plausible, I guess. A remake comes two generations after each main generation game.

The only real issue is if Nintendo would be willing to look like such a money hog that it'd do such a thing.

Dude. Everyone has that theory.

Case closed.

Thing is, first and second gen were in no way compatible with 3rd gen and so on, so I guess that's the reason for such remakes, remaking 3rd Gen would be redundant since 3rd Gen onwards are all compatible in some way, that's just what I think though.

That's right, now that I think about it. The Fifth gen is for the DS, so if a remake is made of it, it'd have to wait for the Sixth (presumably post-DS) gen.

The DSi counts, I guess, but there're still plenty of DSLites and regular DS's, so Ruby/Sapphire are still technically around.

We could get every single 2nd gen Pokemon in the 3rd Gen (R/S/E/FR/LG/Col/XD) and that didn't stop them from making HeartGold and SoulSilver.

I think that HeartGold and SoulSilver were conspicuously timed with the arrival of the DSi for a reason. I'm not totally sure about this, but I think it'd be possible now to catch 'em all using just the fourth gen. So Nintendo finally "cut them off."

Nintendo isn't going to give up on extra cash if they don't need to make a new game engine nor make up a new storyline/Pokémon.

Ugh, you double agent. That's a waste of the report button.

Well, everyone has that theory. It's not a theory per se, it's just the prevailing pattern going on right now. And I bet it's going to be at least two steps to get Pokemon from third generation games to 5th generation games. I personally think they're going to remake Ruby and Sapphire - it'll fill the void between games. And most of us will love it because we'll be happy to see an important part of the Pokemon saga refurbished and fit with new graphics, and decorated with all new features like Hg/Ss, and new rosters for the gyms and Elite 4, and all that good stuff.

Nintendo wouldn't be a "money hog" anyway - we're the ones that give them the money after all. Nintendo doesn't make us buy the games, after all, they just release them. And they're making them better every time anyway.

Indeed they make them better, HG/SS are simply beautiful, I loved everything about it, I really don't mind remakes at all, People buy if they want to, and with Wi-Fi now it's not like you HAVE To buy the other Version to complete your Dex, you can just go online and find what you want, and many other features that just gets better and better with every game.

That's what they just did. HG/SS conveniently allows you to catch everything using only your DS, so this is the point from which it's technically no longer necessary to have the third gen. It's still possible to use it though, and there are plenty of still-in-circulation systems able to play it. The system/necessity (gotta catch 'em all, after all) gap just doesn't seem great enough to allow for a remake.

If there's any possibility of the third gen seeing a DS remake, it's going to be very close to the end of the DS' lifespan. I don't really see it coming otherwise. Even then, Nintendo'd look a fair bit greedier than usual just for doing it.

Unless you are going to make an effort to explain your 'theory' all you've done is written a few equals sings and a couple of letters and numbers. There is no theory in this thread, just an illiterate list that means nothing to the casual observer. It's not a rule, but if you want people to give a toss, make an effort.
