Alright, so since Derek and this child have to intertwine, I'm getting something up for her now, and try to organize thoughts. Here we go.
Name: Lexa Valencia
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Mythological Ancestor: Artemis (Goddess of the Hunt, Forests and Hills, the Moon, and Archery.)
Theme Song: Hands // Jewel, Titanium // David Guetta & Sia
Link to Spotify Playlist (Comprised of musical numbers from Hamilton and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, but the bulk of it is all girls singing about anything but boys.)
Powers and Skills:
- Shadow Manipulation: Lexa can create constructs of shadow to aid her. There is a limit to how much she can create. These constructs include energy blasts.
--- Powered x1: The constructs are slightly more powerful, and she can use more of it.
--- Powered x2: The constructs are much more powerful, and she can use A LOT more of it. She can also manipulate shadows, which in turn manipulate the object.
- Huntress: Lexa's physical responses are heightened, and her physical prowess stronger than that of a regular human's. She is incredibly strong, to the point of superhuman strength, even. Her senses are sharper, especially her hearing and sight. She can run faster and longer than what the human body is capable of, though she isn't the Flash. She heals quickly. Her best trait regarding Huntress is likely her durability. She can take a beating, and it's very difficult to cause serious harm. Her bones just don't seem to break. Her whole body just doesn't give.
--- Powered x1: General upgrade.
--- Powered x2: Harder! Better! Faster! Stronger!
- Serenity: Lexa can easily fade and be completely unnoticed if she chooses. Especially if it's dark. She can easily slip into the shadows (figuratively), and sneak around as she pleases. Her body temperature runs cooler than normal.
--- Powered x1: She can fade even more completely.
--- Powered x2: She can now completely fade into invisibility.
- Forest Sense: Lexa can communicate with the nature around her. This applies mainly to foresty/mountainous plants and animals, but with effort and some botched words here and there, she could talk to something outside her forested element. In time, she will find trees (especially spruces) are the best thing to talk to.
--- Powered x1: General upgrade. She's gotten much better, and can heal plants and animals.
--- Powered x2: She can make forest plants grow to her command, as long as there is soil nearby to accommodate it. Where she steps, forest plants grow, flourish for a moment, wilt, and vanish.
- DEER: Lexa can summon golden deer to aid her in whatever. They're pretty sweet, and can telepathically communicate to Lexa. They all speak in thick NYC accents for some reason. Lexa can ride them. Unlike Derek, who is annoyed with his crow problem, Lexa really loves her deer.
- Archery: Lexa is really, really good at archery, to the point she is the co-captain of St. John's archery club.
- Godly Siblings: Lexa experiences heightened senses when she is nearby Derek. This begins when they are within 13 feet of each other, and gets stronger as they get closer. Lexa can also sense if Derek is in distress.
- S P O R T: Lexa is really, really good at sports. The sports she is good at:
--- Aforementioned Archery
--- Basketball
--- Soccer
--- Volleyball
--- Softball
--- Swimming
--- DO NOT ENGAGE IN DODGEBALL. YOU WILL LOSE.
Sports she is not good at:
--- Bowling
--- Golf
--- Oddly enough, kickball.
- Polylingual: Lexa speaks English, Italian, and Spanish. However, she speaks
Cuban Spanish. Good luck understanding her.
- History Knowledge: Lexa adores history. If you need someone to fact check your history, be it European, American, Ancient World, whatever, go to Lexa. Lexa's got you.
Appearance: Lexa is short and she will kick your ***. She stands at only 5 feet tall, and while she's definitely curvaceous, she's got build to her. She doesn't have a whole lot of breast, wearing only an A-cup, but she's got wide hips, what some people would call baby-birthin' hips. She's got some fat on her hips and, like most girls, does have a little bit of a tummy pouch, but besides that, Lexa is very muscular. She has beautiful, firm, powerful thick thighs. Her calves are well put together as well, and she has toned arms to match. Her hands are noticeably small, but they still pack a punch. Her skin is a beautiful sienna, dark from Cuban heritage and Florida sun. Her face is rounded and heartshaped, soft even when painted in a scowl. She has a button nose, and full lips that are either drawn in a grin or a growl. Her eyes are bright and expressive, and colored as dark as the night sky. In the light, they seem to glow like whiskey at a late night's bar. Her hair is a raven color, highlighted with brown streaks and waved like the ocean. It comes down a little past her shoulders, but she often keeps it either in a bun or in a ponytail.
Lexa dresses very simply, usually in dark colors. While she knows she could rock bright colors, she really doesn't want to. Deep blues and navies are a particular favorite of hers. She often wears tank tops of blue and dance pants of dark gray, and you can bet she's wearing running shoes. She's not a fan of jewelry, it gets in the way of things so she doesn't wear any. (She will admit that her brother is likely better dressed than she is. She's right.)
Personality: First and foremost, LEXA IS VERY LOUD. She has opinions, and you're gonna hear 'em. She is outspoken, brash, and bold. She doesn't care if you think her opinion's controversial, toughen up, buttercup! Lexa is very insensitive, and speaks her mind whether it's kind or not. She has very little filter, and can be very vulgar at times. She has a dirty sense of humor, often at inappropriate times. She doesn't give a damn about what others think of her. She's Lexa Valencia, get over it! She's boisterous and fun to be around, and she loves to laugh and make friends. She is kind, she just has a rough and tumble way of showing it. She's protective, and is good at balancing her needs and others wants. Lexa is very short tempered, and little things can set her off. She's bossy. She knows what she's doing, don't get in her way or you'll get an earful. She hates asking for help, and doesn't do well receiving it, either. She wants to do things on her own and she will fight you for it.
Lexa is incredibly stubborn and set in her beliefs. It's a good thing she's a kind person with very accepting beliefs, or else there'd be no way to change that. She's right, you're wrong, end of story. She's also very punctual, very time based in her dealings. As for the romances, Lexa is terrible at flirting and also hates being flirted with. Mostly because she really only gets hit on by guys, and screw that. She is appalled by men. She's fine with their friendship, but only as long as they take her seriously and treat her as strong as she is. If they even sort of baby her, Lexa may just blow up. She spurns any romantic advances made by men. Made by women on the other hand, she may let down her guard. PDA does get on her nerves, though. She relishes in being strong and tough, and independent. Take away that independence, and she will retaliate. She likes breaking rules that she finds unnecessary, such as curfew and the occasional speed limit. Her music is usually loud and either rock or rap, and preferably female. She loves being a teenage rebel. She's only got one life, and she's gonna live it.
Lexa is very athletic, and loves sports. Sports of any kind. Volleyball, softball, soccer, basketball, she'll do it all. She's very good at basketball to most people's surprise -- in fact, she began to play basketball in retaliation to those who said she couldn't. She loves going on long runs, and she swims to calm herself down, literally drowning her sorrows. She enjoys competitive games, and she loves to win. Admittedly, she is a little one dimensional in that regard. Sure, she loves sports in general, but she's not the most artistic person out there. At all. She can sing pretty well, and lately she's been joining Derek in duets, but other than that Lexa's not all that musically inclined. She doesn't quite understand what people see in art. She'll respect their love for it, she just doesn't get it. It's just colored liquid on paper. It's just bodies moving on a stage. She does have a respect for musicals, though, and likes listening to things like Hamilton and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. She adores history, and can be found contently pouring over history textbooks. She loves American Revolutionary and Russian Revolutionary periods the very best.
Lexa is very spiteful, though. Don't tell her what she can or can't do, she is the one that decides that. She is made of fire and fury, and will not be forced into doing anything. She is strong and she doesn't need anyone. This is a blatant lie. Lexa, like everyone, does in fact need other people. However, she will never ever admit to this. She's signed her fate, she believes she'll end up lonely. It hurts, but she figures no one would actually love her anyway. She loses her temper easily, and she's gotten into fist fights on multiple occasions before. She holds grudges like nobody's business, and it takes a lot to get her to forgive. She's scared of being seen as weak. She scared that people won't take her seriously, or they'll leave her behind. Lexa doesn't break. Ever. She refuses to break down and feel sadness. This is a problem.
At her core, Lexa is determination. She doesn't let anything phase her, she will keep going. She is brave and will stand up to anything, no matter how big it is. She doesn't let being small get to her, she works around it and uses it to her advantage. While she's rough and tough and insensitive, if she cares for you, you'll feel it. Even though she can be very insensitive, she knows when she crosses a line, and she will try to make amends. She's vibrant, intense, and the kind of person you'd want to have your back. She is determined to survive anything thrown at her, and she'll make sure you get through your trials too.
History: ... Do I really have to write out another history. Why am I the way that I am. I'm not going nearly into detail like I did Derek, because at this point, I want to be done. Also her history's pretty uneventful anyway.
Lexa was born to Ezio and Hanna Valencia, in sunny Miami, Florida. Ezio was from Italy, Hanna from Cuba. Tragedy struck quick, and while Lexa was born healthy, Hanna lost her life shortly after childbirth. While Lexa was only a few hours old and can't remember a thing, it hit Ezio hard. He and Hanna had been married for years before she finally got pregnant, and the two were incredibly close. Because while I'm a fan of tragedy, I do like happily married couples. Besides, it sets the scene for the perfect tragedy. So, at less than a day old, Lexa found herself part of the I Lost My Parent(s) Club.
Ezio was a popular movie director, so the Valencias were well off. Despite this, however, Lexa found her friendships in the poor end of town, with all the ruffians. As kindergarteners, they would wrestle during recess, and tiny little Lexa found herself on the winning end more and more often. She showed incredible prowess in sports, and while some other children were still struggling to catch a ball, Lexa had already racked up the points for her team. Everyone wanted to be on her team, because her team was usually the one that won. She was obsessed with the bow and arrow, wanting to be like those elves on TV who could shoot things from far away and STILL hit. Ezio, busy with movies and pretty chill with everything, let her start taking lessons with a tiny bow and tiny arrow.
Well, the next few years go by uneventfully. Basically, to sum up all the years until she's nigh 13, she was busy being great and LOUD and really, really, really loved sports and got good. That's fun. Then, two months before she turned 13, she and Ezio moved cross country to California, where Ezio both had new job opportunities and he had been accepted to a nearby university. Wanting to keep a feeling of peace, he moved to Keydeus. Lexa didn't mind. It was a fine town, there was still people to wrestle, so she didn't much care. What she did care about was when two months after that, Ezio came home with a woman by his side, a certain Ms. van Velde. She was fine, Lexa supposed, but what she didn't like was her son, Derek. Derek was a prick, straight up. He wore dresses and he did all this artsy crap and was RIDICULOUSLY tall, what kind of a kid was this? It was only a few months later that Ezio married Ms. van Velde, and according to Lexa, all hell broke loose.
Lexa and Derek
hated each other. It didn't help that they were both starting at St. Johns the upcoming fall. They both became relatively popular in their respective circles, and fortunately, their circles didn't really collide. Lexa was in volleyball, softball, and was even considered one of the best players on their basketball team. Derek did his art crap. Unfortunately, archery was a strong point for both parties, and neither could give it up. Tensions rose between the two as they were both co-assistant captains sophomore year, as their skill seemed to be unmatched, even by each other. Their performance began to suffer as familial contentions got in the way. Lexa was furious. She believed that this idiot blonde Dutch loser that had no experience of hardship had invaded her personal space, her way to get ride of the anger. She wanted him out.
Lexa was tired of Derek being the way that he was. She was tired of him acting so weak, his behind-the-scenes breakdowns, him acting as though he was better because of his art. And she hated his stupid harp. She hated how he was so laid-back, that being late that didn't matter to him, that he could forgive so easily. The tension came to a head one day, in one of their usual arguments. Lexa, being her usual insensitive self, told Derek exactly what she knew happened to his father. Abandoned them, likely in pursuit of other women. Lexa thought she had him, but she was wrong. Derek's happy persona faded, and he lashed out in anger. Lexa was fearful of the actual strength of her step-brother, but she was confused. What had she said? Derek explained the true reason of his father's experience, and Lexa immediately knew she had crossed a line. She apologized, explaining she her mother was also died, died in childbirth. They bonded finally over the loss of parents, and slowly but surely began to mend their relationship. It was a long and rocky process, and they still have their tussles, but it isn't nearly as bad as before. Their archery skills snapped back to normal, and, when they worked together, even improved. By their junior year, things seemed to be smoothed over, and they were made co-captains at the beginning of the year.
Unlike Derek's history, where we had to go back a little, Lexa's pretty new to the Super-Myths Club. At the beginning of the year, Lexa became curious what Derek was doing with these losers. She loved history and mythology, so she figured she'd tag along sometime with Derek. Derek was chill with it, and happily took her along. She was a part of the club by the time of the 75th anniversary. Fun times, right?
Well, somehow she had lost Derek. She was a little frustrated, I mean, how do you lose a guy who's the color of paper and taller than everyone else? No matter, she could not find him anywhere. Looking in a secluded area, she found herself cornered by the star quarterback. Ugh. Not this loser. His name was Preston White, and he was the worst. He had been trying to woo Lexa for the past few months, and that was not going well. Lexa hated Preston and his stupid advances. Unfortunately, when you're in a secluded area, and you're not paying attention, with a strong guy who adores you, you sometimes find yourself cornered. Lexa found herself pinned by Preston, who obviously had something on his mind. Lexa gave a struggle, but Preston had her good. She closed her eyes and looked away, trying to think of a way out, when BAM. Something hit Preston HARD. Lexa looked around, to see a shining golden deer. That was. Odd.
"Are you alright?" it asked her. She nodded, and the deer pranced off.
Eventually, she ran back into Derek, who seemed to have had an experience of his own. And we're caught up to the present.
Other: Magical Lesbian. Left-handed. Nine minutes older than Derek.
Also, question marks, Derek and this child, because Artepollo are god/dess of archery, is it alright if they're the dual captains of the archery club?
