Mythos: The Return of Magic - (PG-13) - A Percy Jackson Inspired Original RP

VampirateMace

Internet Overlord
@VampirateMace: Just go with whatever you want to play with. As much as I want diversity, playing what you want to play is more important for me. So if you want Loki, it's fine. I'm curious, though, on why you thought Fenrir being taken made you think you can't choose Loki.
I'm happy with Queztalcoatl as well though, so I've already started my char based on that. The logic behind my comment was that Fenrir is Loki's daughter (or son in some sources), therefore if I went with Loki (or any of his other children), then our chars would both technically go back to Loki. However I admit that does kind of overlook the whole inherited power aspect.

Tis the Hour to Reload
@AzerWrath: How? Uh... It's a bit of a spoiler but I guess since there's a clue smack dab in the title, I'll say.
Magic is returning. Right now, it's enough to awaken the players' characters' powers.
At the end, we'll probably reach Tier 4.

And if anyone's wondering, I actually have most of the plot planned out. Just need to refine it.

@VampirateMace: Okay. Just wanted to let you know that it was okay to choose Loki. Wait, what? That's...curious... I think I really need to check other sources other than wikipedia ('cause they mostly refer to Fenrir as a guy in there).

Vern

Why not both?
All right, I finished them.

Name: Sullivan Van Daal
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Mythological Ancestor: Gilgamesh (An Ancient Hero King. So divine as to be 2/3 god and 1/3 man. Possessed great wisdom and strength (but a bit of a jerk). Yeah, that's basically it.)
Powers and Skills:

Aura of Divinity
Passive: An aura of divinity protects Sullivan from weak attacks, both physical and magical (for example, a pebble shot from a sling will just bounce off him and leave no mark whatsoever). Beings that are negative on the holiness scale (like demons, vampires, and the like) are singed when they make contact with him.
Active: When he consciously focuses on the activation and maintenance of this aura, his entire body, or parts of it, become covered in a sort of golden fire that disintegrates any magical constructs it touches and shields him from damage from weaker attacks, lessening the damage of stronger ones. If someone who is less divine than he is touches this aura, they will be burnt with varying severity depending on the disparity between their divinity and Sullivan’s. (His divinity level is pretty damn high, but not as high as someone with an actual god as their ancestor.) When it is going at full power, it is possible to feel its presence if you are close enough as a sort of wind.

Aura of Command
Passive: This aura allows him some sort of very limited reality manipulation in a small radius around him. Objects will become slightly colder, hotter, softer, drier, or whatever to suit his needs. Slightly(for example, he can dry a dish, but not evaporate a bowl of water).
Active: When he is focused intently on projecting this aura, the manipulation becomes more powerful, with greater effects (for example, he can fully melt an ice cube in an instant, unlike before, where, absent other influences, it would take him a minute). He also gains the power to manipulate the shape, very slightly, of the less resistant objects around him (like manipulating clay). This stronger aura can be felt physically, like an extremely posing presence. Those around him feel a strange desire to obey his commands.

Enhanced Physical Abilities
Sullivan's physical abilities are greatly enhanced by his divine heritage. He is stronger than most people, being able to smash through wood and substances with similar strength with ease, but is unable to break harder substances like concrete without a lot of effort. He is extremely fast and agile, being able to keep up with race cars. His senses are also enhanced, allowing him to pick up scents with decent accuracy, but nowhere near that of a dog, hear very keenly, as well as spot a minuscule rustle in the leaves of a tree from a dozen meters or so away. He is fast and perceptive enough to catch a stone thrown at him from behind at the speed of a powerful baseball pitch from a relatively close distance without any warning beforehand, but has to concentrate for things that are faster (like arrows, for instance).

Intelligence (Enhanced Mental Capabilities)
Sullivan can be described as a genius. He does extremely well in school, having never had any problem with his studies despite putting hardly any effort into them, and he is still the person with the best grades in the school. He is extremely sharp when it comes to matters of deduction, and many have commented that he would make a great detective. He is capable of grasping pretty much any concept presented to him extremely quickly, and with a surprisingly deep level of understanding. He is also capable of understanding every language spoken to him like it was his own native tongue, but he can not speak them himself (it does make learning a language significantly easier for him, though). He has an extremely good memory, though it isn’t photographic.

Fighting Prowess
Having grown up in a rather unsavoury environment, Sullivan is a capable fighter. He doesn't have the finesse of martial arts, but he more than makes up for to with his pure physical stench and speed, as well as ferocity and intelligence. He can accurately deduce an opponent’s blind spots or weaknesses, and exploit them.

Strength of Will
Sullivan is so confident in his own ideas and inherent strength that it is almost impossible to perform any sort of mind control or thought manipulation on him. He is also capable of fighting and calculating strategies far past the point where normal humans would have collapsed due to damage or fatigue.

Charisma:
Sullivan can be quite charismatic when he wants to be, his powers aside. Many people find him strangely compelling, and are attracted to him because of, or despite of, his supreme confidence in his own ability. He is quite a capable leader and public speaker when is is called upon to do so, though he prefers to remain in the background.

Appearance: Sullivan stands at about average height for someone his age, and his body is well toned but not muscular enough for it to actually show. His skin is quite pale, and he carries himself with an air of supreme confidence, as if to say ‘I am better than you, and I know it’. His eyes are a piercing red colour, and have an unnatural sharpness to them, making it seem as if he can see everything that is going around him with astonishing clarity, and that he is always, always alert. His hair is a bright yellow, and is long enough for some strands to hang over his eyes, making them seem slightly less intimidating. There are some red, almost blood-like streaks in his hair.

His normal attire is quite simple, usually consisting of a simple white shirt and an unzipped black jacket over it. His pants also tend to be black, simple tracksuits that allow for comfort and ease of movement. His shoes are usually just simple black trainers and occasionally sandals when the occasion or weather calls for them. All of his black clothing have some sort of simple white designs on them, usually just a few lines here and there. All of his clothes are sort of baggy, giving him a rather relaxed and informal look.

Personality: Sullivan’s distinguishing personality trait is his unshakeable confidence in himself. Wherever he is, he always manages to project an air of absolute self-assuredness, as if he knows that no matter what type of enemy or obstacle he has to surmount, he would be able to do so with minimal effort. There is never any moment where it seems that he does not know what he is doing or is unsure about himself - no matter the situation, he is almost always able to remain calm and collected, and confident that he will come out on top. To him, he is always correct, and if you think otherwise, he will prove it to you. And even when it has become obvious that he has made a mistake, he often flat out refuses to admit it, even chalking it up to the incompetence or stupidity of others. He has this unshakeable belief in his own superiority that makes other people believe that he is, in fact, superior. However, if someone manages to prove that they are in fact better than him at some activity (for example, cooking), he tends to acknowledge their superiority, but word it in a way that makes said superiority seem insignificant (essentially, 'Okay, fine, you're better than me at cooking. Cooking is a useless skill, a menial task fit for those like you who are incapable of higher mental functions.')

He believes that humans are creatures hardly better than animals, driven by the very same instincts that they look down upon. He will not hesitate to treat humans the same way he treats animals - with a sort of disregard that would usually get one labelled as some sort of psycho. He tends to look down on those that pride themselves in their strength of will and possess a high opinion of themselves (making him a bit of a hypocrite), and will not hesitate to admit that he too is subject to the whims of those same instincts (though it is usually quite clear that he is doing so to placate whoever happened to be ticked off by his often insensitive comments).

He has two personas that seem to swap between each other at random but both operate on the same basic principle - that he is better. In the one he shows more often, Sullivan is an aloof, relaxed person, treating every place like it is his own home, being comfortable enough everywhere to lie down and go to sleep, or put his feet up on tables. He always manages to project an air of cool indifference, as if everything that people are getting worked up about is beneath his notice. Most of the time, he will be found in the back of the room leaning on the wall, with his eyes closed and hands in his pockets, a smirk on his face indicating that he has already solved whatever problem the group is facing but found it amusing to watch how those that are less capable reach an answer. He does not participate in activities unless he finds them amusing, or is asked to do so. There is something about the way that he carries himself that tells you he is completely at home anywhere, and can be relied on to solve any problem. This makes people feel at ease around him, and they will tend to look to him for advice and support, which he unfailingly gives in his somewhat bored, deliberate speech.

There is, however, a less pleasant side to this self-confidence that manifests itself in times where he is more agitated. When he gets annoyed, he becomes more abrasive and domineering, and begins to show an utter disregard for the will of other people on the account that they are ‘sheep’ who should follow the commands of their ‘shepherd’, a title he bestows on himself and those that earn his respect (so far, nobody). In this persona, his word is law, and damned if you think otherwise. Contrary to his more commonly seen calm and collected attitude, in which his words are usually delivered with a slow, almost bored tone, this Sullivan will shout and speak fast to get his point across. His customary bored smirk and (relatively) polite speech is replaced by angry shouting and glares that would kill those who don’t have much mental fortitude. He never remains in this state for long, usually reverting back to his normal, calm persona when his rage subsides, but don’t expect him to apologise for it. While the normal Sullivan will hide his disregard for you under a state for indifference, the angered Sullivan will not shy away from spelling your worthlessness out to you very clearly, with a tone that indicates he has found it very irritating to have been holding back this rant for the sake of sparing your feelings.

History: Sullivan grew up in a rather shoddy orphanage in a remote village in Russia. His parents abandoned him at birth (his surname was given to him by the Dutch woman who cared for him, alongside five others, in their infancy), for reasons that never were explained to him, though his research into the matter once he get older pointed to the fact that there had been some sort of incident involving the death of his mother at his birth. Anyways, he grew up in a pretty bad orphanage, where there were so many kids that the few women (and one man) who ran it had trouble even counting them all. Organised warfare between rival gangs of children were common, and the building always seemed to be on the verge of collapse (though that never happened).

This particular orphanage happened to be quite a violent place, where many groups formed among the children often got into fights over social dominance and ended up having to be separated by multiple adults. Sullivan, showing the signs of a natural leader at the ripe old age of six, lead his own gang of six children and soon earned the begrudging respect of all the other children in the orphanage on account of his own fighting prowess and strategic genius that amazed even the adults. Over the course of four years, his little group went from a gang of six rather malnourished kids to one of the most feared (by other children) gangs in the area. Having grown up with no parental love (the adults that ran the orphanage were so busy preparing food and treating the wounds and sicknesses of injured kids) and an unforgiving, dog-eat-dog environment where unruly children reigned supreme over their own little society, Sullivan naturally developed into a cynic who believed that he saw the true nature of human beings in the children that he grew up around - weak-willed, arrogant, and, most of all, lacking in any sort of control.

That as when a rich businessman, coming from America, arrived at the orphanage chasing down rumours of a child that had extraordinary powers. This gentleman was the owner of quite a few schools in the United States, and a huge myth enthusiast who had tracked a trail of papers and people all the way to this particular disorganised orphanage in the middle of nowhere. Glad to have the opportunity to get an extremely troublesome child off their hands (Sullivan had always had a bit of a rebellious streak), they presented the young boy to the man, using his blood red eyes and unmatched physical strength and mental capability, as well as the uncertain circumstances of his birth, as proof that Sullivan was indeed the one that the man sought. Satisfied by these clues (and a few examinations involving needles and pills that Sullivan endured in the hopes of leaving this orphanage for better places), the man, called William Taylor, adopted Sullivan as his own child and brought him to America, where he was enrolled in a school his adopted father owned. There, he lived a normal school life (at least, as normal as someone with his personality can manage).

The next major turning point in his life was when his father took in another child, with a background as mysterious as his own. She was from Japan, having been sent away from her parents to allow her father to continue his career without being plagued by rumours of a daughter possessed by a demonic spirit. the two of them were forced to share a house, and were both ill at ease around the other due to their rather twisted personalities. However, they did manage to form a strange bond of mutual understanding due to their very similar cynical outlooks on the world, which neither bothered to hide when they were at ‘home’.

After a while, his father decided to relinquish ownership of this school and the others he owned all across the country so he could better focus on his research into the supernatural. He moved to California, sending his children to a school by the name of the St. John High School, where his father encouraged them to partake in a club that is supposed to focus on research into the Supernatural and Mythical. When the two of them were at school, their father worked alone at his mansion, where he too delved into the supernatural and mythical happenings that he was so interested in. Things continued like this for a while.

That was when the night of the 75th anniversary came along. Sullivan was sitting at home (having decided that all the festivities were a bit of a bother), lying down on the sofa and watching the never-ending reports of death and political backstabbing on the news channel, when he heard what sounded like a fire. Somewhat alarmed, he made his way to the source of the sound - his ‘sister’s study, where there was a piece of paper that was burning with a strange fire on the table. The owner of the room, Kaede, was nowhere to be found. He stood there for a while, debating whether to go fetch some water or just to smother it with his jacket, when he realised that the fire wasn’t spreading to the wooden table and the numerous books beside it.

Curious, he went close and reached forward, and, sensing no heat, put his hand in the fire. It immediately disappeared in a bright flash, with pale blue lights scattering around the room. When the blue, fire-fly like lights disappeared, he turned to leave the room deciding to go and inform his ‘sister’ of this development, and, as he did so, looked down to see his right hand, which had been hovering over the spot where the fire once was, was covered in a blazing, golden fire that didn’t seem to be burning him.

Other:
- While he rarely shows irritation, you can tell if he is feeling annoyed when he is tapping his index finger on whatever nearby surface he can find.
- He tends to keep his eyes closed when he is bored (that is to say, most of the time).
- He likes to use many metaphors in his speech when he is giving a lecture about human nature and the like (usually involving sheep).
- When he is nervous (also quite rare), he tends to play with his hair a bit.
- His father (who finds things like fashion to be a waste of time) buys all of his clothes for him, which is why he can always be found wearing the same shirt. The same goes for his ‘sister’, Kaede.

And another, because this kind of rp basically begs for a catgirl.

Name: Kaede ‘Maple’ Shonozaki
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Mythological Ancestor: Nekomata (Japanese Cat Yokai.)
Powers/Skills:

Feeding off Fear:
Kaede’s physical abilities and her magic gain their power by feeding off powerful negative emotions present in the area. The more hate, despair, anger, bloodlust, and other similar emotions present in a 1 kilometre wide circle with her at the centre, the stronger her powers are. The closer the sources of these emotions are to her, the more influence they hold over her own power (so her own emotions are . At her weakest (no such emotions present at all), she is slightly weaker than an average human, and suffers from a sense of fatigue. At her strongest, she is many times stronger than an average human being, being able to jump over buildings and smash through concrete like paper. Usually, she is somewhere in between the two extremes. When she uses her magical powers, she grows two cat ears in place of her human ones, as well as two long, very beautiful tails. Her eyes become catlike as well.

Spectral Necromancy
Kaede can create ghostly, usually ethereal constructs with the appearance of any being that has died before in the general area. The number and power of these constructs depends on the negative emotions around her. They are usually ethereal, and unable to physically harm beings. However, if one is in contact with these constructs for an extended period of time, they too begin to become ethereal. When there are enough negative emotions present, the constructs begin to become physical beings that are capable of harming people the same way any other physical being can, and they only get bigger and more powerful from there on. Kaede controls the constructs through a strange, hypnotic dance. When the dance stops, they begin to fade.

Ethereal Fire
Kaede can summon balls of a pale, blue fire. These fireballs will float around her until she launches them, usually by throwing them like one would throw a stone (they can not harm her). They pretty much act like any normal fireball would, exploding on contact with anything and burning everything around the area of impact with varying degrees of severity. They can range from being about as harmful as very very hot stones (and about the same size), or as large as a human being and powerful enough to lay waste to entire houses.

Spirit of Vengeace
When the negative emotions in the air become overwhelming, Kaede falls into a state of berserk rage, tearing down everything in sight. When she is in this state, her sclera turn black, and red lines forming intricate patterns appear all over her skin. Her teeth also elongate and become sharper, and two large, very evil-looking eyes appear on her tails (one on each). In this state, her power is increased exponentially, becoming powerful enough to keep up with a bullet train with ease, and capable of tearing down entire buildings. When she is in this state, her bloodlust can be felt as a tangible thing, almost like strong winds, starting from her body and fanning out in all directions, capable of breaking windows and tearing the leaves off trees. She gains the ability to fire off waves of red energy that are like strong blades, leaving deep gashes in walls. This state can not be maintained for more than three minutes or so. When the three minutes is up, she immediately falls unconscious and stays that way for at least a day or so.

Feline Senses
Kaede has enhanced hearing and night vision, being on par with those of a cat. This is why she wears headphones all the time - to protect her sensitive ears. She can see in the dark as if she was in daylight, if not better. She also has a strange kind of cat-like instinct, springing away from loud sounds and having a strange knack of finding things that are hidden away and knowing when danger is coming.

Enhanced Physical Abilities:
Kaede has an extremely good sense of balance, and almost never looses her footing. She is usually stronger than an average person (though this depends on the amount of negative emotion around), and faster to match. She can jump really high, and has no problem running up walls and jumping around in the air as if she was on the ground. She also has extremely sharp and durable fingernails.

Bilingual:
Kaede can speak both English and Japanese, though her Japanese has deteriorated a bit since she moved to America.

I’m a Cat:
She can transform into a cat, and can also communicate with any other feline like she can with a human. Unlike most other ‘converse with animals’ abilities, however, they are not compelled in any way to heed her commands.

Acting:
While having never been in an actual play (and never having wanted to), Kaede is an exceptional actor, a skill she developed over time as a way to become more integrated into a society that did not quite like her. She can fabricate emotions and mannerisms very well, and many have commented that she should join the drama club.

Appearance: Kaede has a rather thin figure (though not so thin as to be unnatural), as if she was never eating enough, giving her a rather frail and sickly appearance. Her pale skin doesn’t help to alleviate this image either. Her hair is long and usually unkempt, and has been dyed an orange colour (it is biologically black). Her eyes are a similar orange colour, and somewhat larger and rounder than what would be normal. Her nose is also rather pointy.

When it comes to clothing, Kaede likes to dress rather conservatively (not that she has much of a choice, considering her wardrobe consisted of only a few very similar clothes). Her standard attire is a loose-fitting white shirt and a large, black sweater with a hood that is big enough to cover her head up to her eyes with space to spare (to hide her cat ears, if they should appear without her knowledge). The collar of the jacket, when buttoned up, covers her mouth as well. Depending on the weather and her mood for the day, she either wears a long, black skirt or track pants of a similar colour. Her shoes are usually athletic, and their colours tend to differ based on whatever was nearest to her on her way out of the house.

The thing that most people tend to remember about her, though, is the large pair of headphones she wears everywhere. She wears them almost all the time, to protect her sensitive ears from any disturbingly loud sounds. They are black, with simple white and orange designs on them. She also tends to attach a cross-shaped orange ribbon on them, a keepsake given to her by a friend from her hometown. She also wears a single fingerless glove over her right hand, to cover some pretty bad scarring left by a fire she had been caught in as a child.

When she transforms into her Nekomata form, she grows two long, cat-like ears with a similar orange colour to that of her hair and eyes in place of her human ones. She also grows two long, furry tails, and her eyes become more yellow and cat-like.

Personality: In sharp contrast to her sickly appearance, Kaede likes to project the persona of an upbeat and energetic girl, full of zest for life and never without a smile on her face. Those that converse with her usually leave feeling a lot better about themselves and more energetic. She is known by most people as an unfailingly optimistic person that is willing to lend an ear to anybody’s problems, and help them with it. Whenever she speaks, her voice always seems to have this soothing quality to it, despite her usually upbeat and fast paced talking.

Unfortunately for those that know and love her for this persona, it is little more than a ruse to take attention away from her rather less pleasant true self. Having been shunned by the people in her hometown and even her own family members since a rather unfortunate incident involving her grandmother that nobody ever spoke of, she is plagued by self-doubt and a sense that there is something inherently wrong with her that she could not change. This has lead to her developing a deep-seated envy of all those that live normal lives and are just generally happy, as well as a feeling of being robbed of something she should have had. While she is too nice of a person to openly express this envy, she has more often than not found herself becoming a little hostile to those that seem to take the things that they possess for granted. Whenever that happens, she ends up feeling bad about it, which leads to more hatred against her father, who took all of that happiness away from her (It’s a long story).

The way she was treated in her childhood because of an incident that she knew nothing about back then was the catalyst for her becoming a somewhat world-weary cynic. She dislikes human beings, thinking them to be controlled by misconceptions and delusions about how the world and everything around them is supposed to be. She shows this kind of worldview to nobody except those that she is most comfortable around (at the moment, nobody). This hatred of humans, combined with her envy and thirst for revenge against her father, is what powers her magic.

When she transforms into her Nekomata form, she is much more openly spiteful of the people around her, and often acts somewhat more arrogant and abrasive. She also seems to be overwhelmed by a kind of bloodlust, though it is quite subtle and difficult to pick up on due to her admirable self control. She also picks up a few more cat mannerisms in this state, though it is difficult to tell if she is just faking it.

History: (this is going to be long) Kaede was born in a small village in Japan, pretty far away from the nearest city. There, most people still got by through farming, and opening small businesses for the few tourists that passed by. Life in the village was rather idyllic - nature everywhere, no pollution, just a few well-acquainted families helping each other out at times where the harvest was bad. Her parents’ families had lived in the village ever since its creation, and as such, they were given the honour of caring for a shrine to a certain god. There were many strange rumours floating around about the village, many people saying that they often saw ghost-like figures and floating balls of fire at night, and there had been many reports of sightings of all sorts of Yokai. These rumours drew the more curious tourists to the village, so nobody did anything to dispel them.

Life had been good until she was about two, still too young to comprehend what was happening. One night, at around 11 o’clock, her grandmother, an elderly and extremely kindhearted woman, suddenly fell into a strange state of berserk rage, growing two tails and cat ears, and burnt down almost all of the family’s estate and, more importantly, the shrine, in a matter of seconds. Her body, unable to take the strain, fell into a coma, and she died, unconscious, in a hospital a day later. On the morning after the rampage, Kaede was found, crying in her baby cot in what was left of a building that had nearly been burnt down the night before, with two cat ears and two tails. Needless to say, this news was not well received by anybody.

Desecrating the shrine, as Kaede’s grandmother had done, was a very serious crime, to speak nothing of the piles and piles of money that would be lost in the repairing of the family’s estate. Young Kaede was unable to grasp that much, but all she knew was that she suddenly had to live in a completely foreign place, and that many people were looking at her like she was some sort of monster. The family was disgraced, and would have been forced to leave the village had Kaede’s father not been such an influential member of the community.

Her cat ears and tails disappeared the next day, and never appeared again. She grew up a normal child, and was sent to school alongside the other schoolchildren. Despite her fathers constant (if somewhat hesitant and unsure) reminders that she was a normal child and would be treated as such, the kids were told to stay away from her, and the teachers seemed to always be weary in her presence. This did not reflect well on her personality, and she soon became reserved and very much of a loner. But life was manageable, until another disaster happened - her school building burned down.

While she had absolutely nothing to do with the incident (the cause had been a fire in the kitchen), when she was found trying to escape the wreckage with a few other children, the rumours that had subsided began to start up again. She was once again shunned by the society that had grown to accept her not long ago, and people began to treat her like some sort of abomination. Soon, unable to live with the fact that his only daughter had essentially become a burden to the family (she never showed any real promise in school), Kaede’s father sent her away to a boarding school, overseas, where she would be far away from family affairs, and her father could pursue the diplomatic career he so desired without the burden of being referred to as ‘the father of the cat child’. To prevent any unfortunate rumours about his own heritage spreading, he began to spread rumours himself - that Kaede had been a child forced upon him by an unnamed old friend who was in dire straits, and that she had somehow been possessed. The result of these rumours was that in the last few weeks she spent in japan, people treated her like some sort of dangerous animal, and her peers began to spend their spare time yelling insults at her from the other side of the room. Whenever she stepped into a crowd, people seemed to deliberately make space for her, as if they were afraid of something. Her father had always been a driven man, putting his career and success above all else, including his only daughter. Soon enough, the letters that Kaede sent him began to return unanswered.

The man who ran the boarding school was a rich man, and an adopted father to a son with a very similar background to that of the new arrival. He was also very, very interested in the mythological and the arcane, as well as very influential on account of his great wealth and connections. Seeing that she had been abandoned by her father, he managed to arrange for the custody of this girl to be given to him. While he was certainly a more attentive father than the one she had had before, he was always surveilling her every move, and occasionally even took blood samples and the like from her for his research. This did not really help to make her feel like a normal person, and she began to feel more and more like she was some sort of inhuman creature. In fact, it pretty much cemented the idea in her mind that she was most definitely some sort of abomination. She was forced to share a house with a boy a good two years older than her with a very disagreeable nature, and still had not found the sense of belonging she desired.

A few months later, the man she called ‘father’ moved to a small town in California and gave up ownership of the school, so he could better concentrate on his research into the supernatural. Kaede and the boy, Sullivan, were taken with him there and sent off to the St. John High School, where their ‘father’ could find them in the middle of the day if he so wished. There, they joined the Supernatural and Mythology club at the suggestion of their father so they could better understand and participate in his research. Things were going well, and since Kaede’s somewhat questionable past had been buried by some complicated paperwork by their father, she was relatively happy there and resolved to stay that way by constructing a persona in which she would be well liked by others. Having always been a good actor, she put all of that into good use.

Then one night, she received a letter from her biological father. It was written in a very formal tone, almost like he was addressing a business associate, and detailed his recent achievements, and how much his wife (note: not himself, his wife) missed her. Not once did he apologise, and there were parts of the letter where he almost seemed to be defending the actions that lead to her being ostracised by society and her growing self-doubt. There was something about the self-righteous way in which the letter had been written that annoyed her to no end and brought the old hatred, which had been hidden away, back to the surface. Suddenly, the letter in front of her exploded into a kind of ghostly fire. Alarmed, she rushed to the bathroom to get some water to put it out, only to discover upon looking into the mirror that there were two cat-like ears on her head, and her eyes had slit pupils.

Other:
- She does not like being called a ‘catgirl’, or anything similar.
- She is quite a big anime fan, and occasionally drops a bit of Japanese into her English.
- She is referred to as ‘Maple’ by her friends and classmates. Sullivan called her Cecile, a nickname that came to be due to a misunderstanding when they first met.
- The scars on her right hand glow a faint red when she is feeling really, really pissed.

I'll be getting my character up soon. I've decided on using Shango, of the Yoruba pantheon. I'm pulling from multiple sources for information on Shango, but the link I provided should give an overview of what his portfolio contains. He's a bit like Thor, Zeus, Poseidon, or any other temperamental, battle ready deities that you may think of.

Mythological Ancestor: Queztalcoatl (The Feathered Serpent; Mayan god of Wind, Knowledge, and possibly Resurrection)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quetzalcoatl
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Quetzalcoatl

Powers and Skills:

Wind Control: Lola has control over wind, well, sort of. She can conjure breezes and gusts, and whirlwinds, but sometimes her emotions get in the way of actually controlling them. She's got a lot of learning ahead of her as far as control is concerned.

Transformation: On rare occasions, she doesn't know she can even do this, Lola may transform into the feathered dragon form of her ancestor. In this form she can fly (and even carry others), has a nasty bite, and can spew out storm forced winds.

Parseltounge & Bird Whisper: Lola has some low level ability to communicate with certain animals, particularly birds and snakes. It's nothing at all like speaking English with another human, but rather more like paying enough attention to get an impression of what the animal wants to convey.

Memory for Trivia: Perhaps related to ancestor, Lola has a knack for remembering lots of [generally useless] facts. Bananas are berries. Tomatoes are berries. Avocados are berries. Watermelon can even be considered berries. Strawberries however, are accessory fruit.

Athletic: Lola is fairly athletic, being pretty good at basketball, volleyball, soccer, and archery. Since moving to California, she's joined the school's volleyball team and archery club.

Appearance:
You might think a descendent of Queztalcoatl might look Latino or Native Central American, but you're forgetting one thing, Queztalcoatl was banished for not accepting human blood sacrifices (or maybe for preforming black magic) and rode a raft of live snakes away from the Mayan empire (or he burned himself alive, and became Venus, or the morning star, okay, there's a lot of versions of his story *shrug* okay, let's move on now). So, who knows all where he might have descendents?

ZMXyBdG.png

Lola is a tall, slender, dark-skinned girl of very mixed descent. Her build is somewhat on the athletic side, but she's not super muscular or anything, more a tad wirey with understated curves. Her hair is nearly black, but almost straight, and falls to her lower back, just above her butt. Her oval shaped face has a small upturned room, plump red lips, and large mahogany eyes. She has a very alert look to her.

She has a scar on her right ankle, where she fell off a dock when she was young, and one on her left wrist from climbing over a barbwire fence. Other then that her skin is pretty flawless, aside from the occasional pimple. She wears a little make-up, but she's not entirely sure she's doing it right, so she tries not to put too much on as that would really draw attention to any application flaws.

Lola tends to dress in simple loose clothes, usually in black and warmer colors; reds, oranges, yellows. Her wardrobe consists mostly of a lot of tank tops, peasant blouses, shorts, and capri pants. Usually she'll wear knee socks and thick heeled combat boots with everything. Though she might put on dress shoes for a school dance or a wedding. And if it's cold out she might wear a denim jacket, if she remembers, or even wants to. She's also almost never without her favorite earrings, a pair of cute gold stars.

In her dragon form, Lola is long and slender with dark green scaly skin, and white feathers edged in reds, oranges, and yellows. She has no arms or legs in this form, but sweeping wings that allow her to fly, and a tuft of feathers on her tail to help steer. She has long sharp serpent fangs, and can spew out storm force winds.

Personality:
Lola is an extrovert, not shy at all about going right up to someone and talking. Early on, she didn't have the luxury of being shy if she didn't want to spend lunch alone. Moving a lot makes some kids refuse to bother with making friends, but it helped Lola learn to make them quickly.

Lola can be a good friend too, and is still in touch with some of the friends she's made over many years of traveling, though her closest friends are the ones she'd made since coming to California. She can be a tad awkward in social situations however, due her lack of prolonged relationships and the cultural differences in the areas where she's lived. She's pretty good at laughing off her mistakes however.

She's a big reader, having read a lot on planes and other modes of transport as her parents moved from place to place. She can seem like a bit of a know it all at times, but if you hang out with her long enough, you'd realize she just knows a bunch of random facts and can't really help sharing them. And that probably gets tiring for others at times.

History:
Lola was born in Europe, her mother was from England and her father from the United States, and with his job, the two of them spent a lot of time traveling between the two, and a few other counties as well. So, eventually Lola did as well. At least until she was 15, when her father got a promotion that came with a CA office.

During those years, not much of note happened aside from two things. First she fell off a dock, and while she was luckily able to swim, she cut her ankle pretty bad and delayed their next impending move. Her mother was bit overprotective for a few months after that. The second event occurred on her American uncle's farm. Her cousin Hank took her to see where he's found a dead rattlesnake, but they had to climb over a neighbor’s barb wire fence to get to it. She cut her left wrist, and needed stitches leading to a lot of questions about what they were doing in a dangerous area to start with. Strangely Lola felt wit was worth it, as she felt an odd familiarity as she stared at the body before they headed back.

The move to California was both strange and nice. Her mother assured her it was a good thing. Finally she could settle into a school, make sure she graduated High School with good grades, feel a home in a house, and finally make some close friends. Not that she didn't have friends before, she just had trouble getting particularly close to anyone between constantly moving and catching up with schoolwork.

With time to socialize, she also found time for extracurricular activities; volleyball and the super myth club. She found out about the club within her first week at St. John High School, and quickly decided to join, showing up at the next meeting.

Things went fairly well for her in the next few years. And she signed-up to help with BBQ booth at the school's 74th anniversary. Mostly she was just plating ribs and burgers as fast as she could. Until the teacher working the grill next to her backed away grabbing with yelp. Looking around, Lola realized nobody had had the brains to bring a fire extinguisher. Freaking out, she started to back away as well, wishing there was some way she could put the fire out.

At that moment a freak gust blew through the area, putting out the fire. Unfortunately it also knocked over the BBQ tent and several other tents, starting a second fire as the tempura bento stand's tent came down on a deep fryer. Luckily no one was hurt and fire department was able to put out the fire fairly quickly, though the celebration's selection of food was greatly reduced.

Out of a job, Lola wandered off trying to get the freak wind and fire out of her head. . . until she noticed the breeze picking up every time she got emotional about it.

Age: 18
Mythological Ancestor: Loki (Norse god of Trickery, Deception, and Mischief, commonly reffered to as the Trickster God)

Powers and Skills:
Deception: Severus is able to convence somebody that everything he says is true, even if if is later revealed to be a lie, unless they can see that he is lying. While he choses not to use this often, he can tell if someone is lying to him.

Asgardian Strength: Severus is stronger than your average person, especially for his height and build.

Sorcey: Severus can cast magic to agment aspects of himself and other, create protecive barriers, and animate inanimate objects.

Shape-Shifting: Severus can change into just about anything. He doesn't quite this perfectly down yet, but he keeps working at it.

Appearance:
Severus is quite short, standing in at 4' 11" and weighs roughly 121 lbs. He has a bit of fat around his stomach area but is mostly just skin and bone. His hair, which is naturally red, is dyed a dark brown, however if light hits it just right glints of red can be seen, and is cut short enough to show his round face. He has heterochromia iridum, his left eye is brown and his right is a pale golden yellow color. He prefers contacts over glasses and wears them. His skin is also slighly tan.

Clothing wise, his clothing can best be described as a cross between windy days and summer. His casual attire consists of a windbreaker, a sleeve-less shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes. The windbreaker is cerulean in color, and is usually seen unzipped with the sleeves rolled up. His shirt is gray with black text reading "POWER...OVERFLOWING!". His shorts are also cerulean, and have oddly deep pockets, which he uses to hold his phone, headphones, and various cords and cables. His shoes are blue.

@Vern: Oh boy. Gilgamesh...expy descendant. This...will be interesting. Quick! Somebody sign up as an Artoria expy to distract him!

@Cometstarlight: Checked out Chloe and she's all good. And hey, seeing as I allowed Fenrir and now a pheonix, might as well let a chimera.

Chloe "Clover" Stone is accepted.

Funny thing about Chloe is that she's a lot like me. No seriously, your description of Chloe's personality could easily describe me.

@VampirateMace: Ha ha. Good point though. The sign up is all good.

Lola Carter is accepted.

May I mention that lola in many Philippine languages means grandmother?

@shaymin_girl: Thanks for the note. Anyways, poor Arsinoe. Maybe she and Daniel can bond over dead loved ones? ...Hmm... Maybe... We'll see.

Arsinoe "Arsi" Quayle is accepted.

Well-Known Member
Edit: Done!

Name: Lorena Mattson
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Mythological Ancestor: Athena (here's a good short summary)
Powers and Skills:

Hand-to-Hand Combat: From a young age, Lorena showed intense interest and skill in martial arts. She is formally trained in jiu jitsu and haidong gumdo but has studied other arts on her own. Combined with her other capabilities, she is a formidable opponent even to the masters of her school and has started holding back as her powers became more obvious.

Weapon Proficiency: Lorena is innately skilled with weapons, even ones she's never used before. She's notably more lackluster with long-range weapons (like a bow) than she is with close combat weapons.

Weapon Procurement: Lorena is able to morph weapons out of related materials if enough of the material is available, such as a stone knife out of a large rock or a sword out of a metal pole. She cannot create anything that would require multiple materials (such as a bow) or that require complicated mechanics (like a gun), limiting her mostly to close combat weapons such as daggers and swords. She hasn't discovered this ability yet.

Know-It-All: Lorena has a knack for remembering knowledge, and in particular is a bit of a mythology nerd and should recognize any myth-related things that pop up during the adventure.

Increased Strength: Surprisingly, Lorena is quite strong for her appearance and can lift objects up to three times her own weight without too much difficulty.

Increased Speed: Lorena is highly agile and can outpace the average human twentyfold, though she lacks the endurance to run at that speed for extended periods of time.

Bright Eyed: Lorena can see very well in the dark.

Animal Affinity: Owls: Owls are attracted to Lorena and she can understand when they are trying to tell her something, though she can't really explain how. She hasn't formally discovered this power yet, only that she's been seeing way more owls recently.

Invigoration: Lorena is able to provide a singular ally a boost of strength by touching them and speaking words of encouragement. This will give them an inexplicable boost of confidence and enhance their abilities for a short period of time. She cannot use this on herself and it tires her to do multiple times in a row. She has not discovered this ability yet.

Disguise: A potential power for later in the RP as she cannot use this yet. Lorena can make herself or others appear to be something else entirely, from a different person to an animal to a large rock. This is merely an illusion rather than an actual transformation.

Other:

- Lorena is ambidextrous.

- She is very strong in mathematics and is likely the strongest math student in the school. She adamantly refuses to participate in mathematics competitions but gets harassed by her teachers a lot to join the math team.

- She is innately very talented at arts and crafting, but considers it a useless skill and has therefore never explored this talent much.

Appearance: Lorena is a bit below average height, at 5'3". She has an athletic build, and though not overly muscular has a lot of definition in her arms and abdomen. She has little visible fat on her, and consequentially is not very curvy, though this doesn't bother her much. As she tends to run warm, she nearly always wears shorts (typically cargos) and a t-shirt to school, even when the weather is colder. Her wardrobe is mostly composed of items that are comfortable and easy to move around in. She has little fashion sense and even less preference for the style of what she wears, but has mostly gotten the hang of wearing matching tops and bottoms. She wears sneakers daily to school, her favourite pair being black and turquoise with purple laces.

Lorena has dark brown hair that she always keeps tied in a tight bun, to the point where only her immediate family has ever seen her with her hair down. Her hair is naturally thick and curly - and she hates it. She has a round face shape. Her eyes are a striking bright blue - a trait which she inherited from her mother, and which has been said to be a defining mark of her lineage. She wears little makeup - sometimes mascara - and does not have any piercings or tattoos. She doesn't like earrings enough to care to get her ears pierced. Her skin has always been very clear and free from blemishes so she's never seen the need for much makeup either.

Personality: Lorena tends to be very independent and a little withdrawn. She has a few friends, but doesn't participate in social events very often. She views them as a waste of time that would be better spent studying or training. Despite her athletic abilities, this trait makes her terrible at team-oriented sports, as she doesn't fully understand how to work with other people. She's that one kid that everyone loves being stuck with for group projects, as she will do literally everything herself and still nab her group full marks. She picks up and retains knowledge extremely well, making her a straight A+ student. Although she's only just turned fifteen, she is in eleventh grade as she skipped both fifth and seventh grade. Although beneficial for her academically, the age and maturity difference between herself and her peers was a large reason she became so socially isolated.

Predictably, Lorena is quiet, and is more polite than friendly. She is not shy, however, and is not afraid to speak her mind if the need arises. She tends to be very direct and to-the-point, which can make her come off as rude in some situations. She never actually intends to hurt anybody's feelings though, which can result in some awkward half-hearted apologies if she senses she's gone too far. She can be judgemental and tends to believe she is smarter than other people, and will readily take a leader position if she feels nobody else is competent. She has a very strong sense of what is right versus wrong and would never resort to cheating to get ahead in life.

Although formally trained in martial arts, Lorena dislikes physical fighting unless it is necessary for self-defense or training purposes. She will usually try to diffuse a challenge or threat verbally before resorting to fighting. She dislikes arguments as well - especially petty ones - and tends to end arguments before they begin as efficiently as possible (even if it is an argument she is not involved in herself). She has a very no-nonsense, serious attitude, with little patience for immaturity and a particular hatred for braggarts or those that constantly feel the need to prove themselves as better than other people. Though she usually will turn down any challenges, she can be egged into competing for fun if the challenger makes it seem like she would be doing them a favour by accepting.

Lorena privately does enjoy winning, though she tries her best not to make that too obvious. She also tends to hide negative emotions like fear or sadness, and thinks that crying is the ultimate sign of weakness. She generally maintains a calm, level-headed demeanor, as that's how she likes to be perceived by other people. Seeing other people crying panics her, as she doesn't know how to comfort another person properly and her expressions of sympathy tend to be very awkward and forced. Love confuses her as well; she tends to avoid people she has crushes on and couldn't imagine ever being in a relationship. She turns down romantic advances and adamantly claims that she's much better off on her own.

History: Lorena had a fairly normal childhood. Her parents had tried to conceive a child for years with no success, and had nearly given up until Lorena suddenly came along. Given the situation, Lorena grew up with no siblings and her cousins were all older than her. This bolstered her maturity level and, upon going to school for the first time, initially had a lot of trouble making friends with people her own age. Typical of the odd-kid-out, she was often the target of bullying by those a few grades ahead of her, and the peers in her own age group distanced themselves as not to become targeted themselves. Although Lorena loved school and was a strong student from an early age, she dreaded recess and often wondered why nobody seemed to like her.

Lorena's father's solution to the problem was to enroll her in the local jiu jitsu school after classes, so that Lorena would have the ability to fend bullies off physically. Her mother was initially skeptical of this solution, wishing to instill in her daughter that violence was not the answer, but reluctantly allowed it. Lorena flourished in this environment and gained more than just knowledge of martial arts - she gained confidence. She never ended up using her fighting skills to solve her bullying problem - she gained the ability to stand up for herself and the older kids gave up on their own.

Her next few years of life went much more smoothly. Lorena was a top student and even made some friends her own age. She loved training after school, but showed no interest in team sports like most other kids her age did. Her parents didn't mind, figuring their daughter got enough physical exercise as it was. Lorena was given the opportunity to skip the fifth grade, and accepted, as fourth grade had bored her out of her mind. She slowly fell out of touch with her old friends, and tried to make acquaintances with kids in her own grade, without much success. When given the opportunity to skip the seventh grade as well, she hoped it would be a fresh start to meet new people.

It wasn't. Her thirteen-year-old female peers mostly just talked about boys, and neither sex really paid their teachers - or Lorena for that matter - any mind. Cliques had been clearly established by this point, and there was no room for a brainy eleven-year-old. Lorena recognized many of her new peers as the ones who used to push her around when she was in kindergarten, and decided it would be best to keep to herself. She threw herself head-on into her studies and spent any leftover time either reading or training.

Her parents, concerned for her social life, insisted that she get more involved with her school. As a begrudging attempt to pacify them, she signed up for the Super-Myth Club. She knew a lot about myths, and it seemed like a very low-commitment club. Of course, she had no idea what she was getting herself into.

Although she really had no interest in attending the 75th Anniversary event, she was guilted into going by both other club members and her parents, and spend most of the night either awkwardly socializing or cleaning to make herself look like she was busy. But then odd things started happening - bright flashes of light - screams of terror - spiderwebs - people making out everywhere...? A freak gust of wind knocked over several tents, and though Lorena knew she would not get out of the way in time, instinct told her to run - she zipped out of the way so fast that she barely registered what had happened. She confirmed her speed later privately, and realized she had other enhanced physical abilities as well. And it didn't seem like she was the only one with odd abilities either...

Other: Her sexuality isn't important to her character and she's still young so I'd rather leave it undisclosed. If the need arises I'm just planning on treating her like a sim (*anything goes)... xD

@VampirateMace: Uh...what? You mean that first part was "in character"?

@Vern: Yeah, you're right. But I did say the limit was Tier 3, so tecnically, Sullivan's only "overpowered" when compared to the others so far. So he's fine.

Sullivan Van Daal is accepted.

Can't wait to see his opinion of Daniel, the one with practically zero confidence in himself.

As for Kaede, she's fine too.

So Kaede "Maple" Shonozaki is accepted.

So everyone may know, starting tomorrow, it'll be time of me to go to school again since I'm well now so it's unlikely I can reply to stuff for the week. But I'm probably gonna be able to keep track of what's happening. Also, since we have a pretty big cast now, my plan is to start the RP a few days after I get the discussion thread up. For those working on their SUs, don't worry. You still have time to finish them up since I'm still waiting for approval and I'll have school.

「深弾幕結界 -夢幻泡影-」
Name: Lanaya Ur-Kaldr
Gender: M
Age: 18
Mythological Ancestor: Enkidu (The only friend of Gilgamesh. Born from a clod of earth and saliva, Enkidu was shaped by hands of the Gods, his father the king of gods, Anu, and his mother the goddess of creation, Aruru.)

Powers and Skills:
Primality
Lanaya is skilled in various techniques and arts associated with Archery, Hunting, Tracking, Taming, Herbalism, etc.

Conceptuality
Lanaya is knowledgeable in various subjects read in books, World History, Mythology, Evolution, Psychology, The World Wars, etc.

Morphological Terrakinesis
Becoming one of mud, Lanaya is able to do what his ancestor once did; create objects out of earth. At maximum strength, a thousand objects can be created from the ground, seeping out from himself. Each can be moved or manipulated to his will. Lanaya will start out only able to form 2-6 objects, and use them not as devastatingly.

Transfiguration
Embracing his artificial heritage, Lanaya can revert back into a humanless form, one of primal instinct and being. Resembling a large, molten rock crossed with a tree, Lanaya is stronger, but slower. Coup De Grâce is locked in this form, in exchange for raw strength. Lanaya will start out being able to smash concrete. Eventually, he will be able to rip through and shatter the entire support column of a condominium.

Flower on Earth
Lanaya has the ability to communicate with every spiritual or elemental being on earth, as long as Transfiguration is active. From Trees to the Sea itself, all can be heard and spoken with. However, Lanaya loses the ability to communicate with human beings while Transfiguration is active. He also forgets all prior communication after reverting to his human form. To be able to get information from Lanaya like this, another must speak to him in the tongue of Beasts.

Star in Heaven
Lanaya is able to find his way from the stars above. He will always know which direction is North if he is able to look at the night sky.

Armament of Sacrilege
Lanaya transforms himself into a large tree made of light. At it's top, a large flower will bloom and embrace all those under it's shade with everlasting light. An implosion of power and magic; it strikes down those who have committed destructive deeds towards the planet or humanity. At full strength it can cover a large portion of the earth itself, showering it with eternal light. It is defensive in nature, protecting the innocent from all harm. At maximum power, enough to stop a large meteor from impacting Earth. Locked until much later into the RP.

Coup De Grâce
Using all of himself; locking all of his skills, Lanaya is able to project a single nondescript spear from his heart. The build of the spear is that of a typical Persian spear, but carved from solid rock. It functions as a weapon to slay Man and Beast alike; It cannot harm the Gods, but their creations will suffer greatly with it's strikes. Longinus is it's name, and it will strike down even Angel's themselves. It will end all who it is raised against, and with the powers of Creation itself, all will fall to their knees. Locked into much later into the RP

Vijñaptimātratā
Rendered conscious, all standing before Lanaya's spear will not falter until their death. Both parties will fight an honorable duel with no interference. There will be no trickery nor will there be salvation. Allows Lanaya to bypass all Barriers, Shields and Walls of any kind with his strikes. To block the Spear, one must parry it contact it with another weapon.

Amalavijñāna
Granting peace to all who fall under Lanaya's spear, all who stand against Lanaya will fight at their fullest no matter what their state is, and Lanaya himself will as well. After the battle, the fatigue from either living side will kick in, hampering the body soon after. Allows Lanaya to dispel illusions, cut through those Ethereal (such as Ghosts), and exorcise Demons.

Appearance:
Lanaya is a slim boy, standing at around 1.69m tall and weighing only at 60kg. He's light, with little to no muscle definition. His skin is white, almost glowingly so. With long, crimson hair and a rather feminine face, Lanaya would be mistaken as a girl. And is, most of the time. His red hair flows down to his hips, with the sides and the front trimmed to form a rather neat hairstyle. Long eyelashes and big eyes make him look child-like, cute, really. With dull grey pupils, his eyes seem to be made of glass; artificial as the color. It however, only further strengthens the beauty that Lanaya is. The angles of his face too, are female in proportion. They angle downwards and create a slightly sharp chin. His limbs may be slim, but they are firm and seemed to be built on nothing but muscle. A thin layer it may be, but coiled and ready to spring into action they are.

Coming from a wealthy family, Lanaya's wardrobe is supposed to reflect that; it however, does not. With standard black jeans being his usual favourite, along with black loafers and a long-sleeved white collared shirt, he can be mistaken as someone from the middle-class. He doesn't change up his attire, merely switching out the colors of what he's wearing. Sometimes, however, he wears a vest over as well. He however, feels like there is no need for such clothing. Outside of having to interact with others, he wears a plain white tunic and slippers of wood.

Personality:
Lanaya is quiet and composed. He speaks with a whimsical voice, one of complete trust and respect. He enjoys time to himself, and time with others as well. He enjoys the wild of nature and the voice of man, sharing a connection to both. What this means is that he greatly appreciates nature, and would gladly spend time with animals as much as he would spend time with a human. His temperment is nonexistent, and is always polite no matter what. Even when dealing with someone who has hurt a friend of his, Lanaya speaks serenely. With no poison in his voice nor provocation. However, his eyes will tell a different story. A saturation of emotion, the windows to his soul. You can tell what Lanaya feels through them. Be it malice or love, all is easily seen.

Lanaya regards friendship highly, and accepts fate. He does not actively attempt to make friends or enemies, but lets the natural flow of the world and time take place. He does put in all the effort he has in maintaining a relationship or reacting or responding to an attempt, though. Imagine a pond of gasoline. It requires a spark to be set alight. In this case, the approaching party would have to be the spark, and Lanaya, the gasoline. Lanaya grew in solitude, and learns by observing others closely.

Because Lanaya is quiet and only speaks to those that come to him, he may seem cold or distant, appearing to care about nothing. Watching him closely however, one would realize he reacts in surprising feminine ways. He lives by feelings alone, and has a simple view of people he meets. Either they are 'Good' or 'Evil'. To harm another in malice is the worse sin to commit, in Lanaya's mind. Because of living like this, Lanaya is able to sacrifice all of himself, for another. This feat, done while his heart -knows- that what he is doing to for another, to understand, and to become just another piece in their life as they continue to grow and live on.

History:
Lanaya had a puzzling childhood. He was adopted into a rich, aristocratic family in England, his heritage however, was known. He was never given an English name due to that. His parents were owners of a company. One so large that they could be traced back from almost every Museum in the West. The reason for adopting him was never revealed, and never needed. Lanaya was fine with living life as it was.

His parents were never involved in his childhood, and instead placed him alone in a mansion further north, away from the city. Taken care of by several maids, Lanaya grew a pampered life. He understood how to do various things, like cook, clean, take care of himself, and so on. However, more of the modern things like playing on a Console of any kind, or having used a phone that had a touch screen, were alien to him. Lanaya did have some experience with computers, but not enough to know how everything worked. He at most could play games and browse the internet. The boy didn't find any interest in it, though. Aside from a couple of games.

Most of Lanaya's time was spent reading or being outside. The books he read were mostly about time long gone. History, be it Victorian, Soviet, or back to the age of Gods and Mythology, all had gone through Lanaya's head. Inclusive to this were things like Architecture, World Politics, Religion, and so on. He's well-read indeed. With an added dash of Fantasy and LoveCraftian horror here and there, Lanaya would make for an amazing conversational partner if not for his silence.

Being outside was the other half of Lanaya's life, where the maids at the mansion taught him various things. It was strange, having maids so skilled in certain arts considered almost irrelevant today. Archery, Hunting, Tracking, Capturing and Taming animals, so on and so forth. Heck, Lanaya even managed to tame an Eagle. With all the amalgamation of skills Lanaya had learnt over the course of his childhood, he grew into a pretty peculiar child. He was never formally taught, nor was his groomed into the new heir to his family. He had money, luxury, but was different. He felt at home like this, but alongside that, he felt like he was missing something.

Around the time of his thoughts, his parents had enrolled him into a school. The first time he would be venturing into one, but he had learnt a lot from books and various documentaries. The maids gave him a few more lessons, now this time on real-world conduct and how society functions. Over the course of an other 4 years, the boy grew to understand and find comfort in both the modern and the old world. Aside from things like Math, Scientific calculations, certain kinds of art, so and so. Lanaya adapted better to technology, but still had no real exposure aside from games and stuff.

Being sent across the sea to California, Lanaya embraced his new life. Being enrolled into St. John High School, he would live his life to become any other typical high schooler.

Hey, joining the club with a pretty fancy name would be neat. It even included some of his interests taken on from reading.

Or so he thought.

At first, everything was alright. Nothing was different, and Lanaya continued to learn more and more as time went on. However, the night of the 75th anniversary would soon descend, and the boy's life would change yet again. You see, Lanaya lived in a large studio apartment in the city. It wasn't strange to hear sounds coming from the nearby roads or so on, but that night.

That night, Lanaya would hear voices from elsewhere. Places he could not see, voices he could not understand. He would hear them and hear them. They would not stop. It was not tormenting him, no, they were calling for him. They wanted a display. A display of what, the boy did not know. And so with morbid curiosity, Lanaya began to try and communicate with the voices. The more he spoke, the louder they got. The louder they got, the more gentle they were.

And the louder they got, the less human Lanaya became.

That night, the boy's arm turned into a hulking mass of rock. It did not faze him, nor did it bring surprise. Fate had turned it's hands once more, and he was apparently, somewhere near the center of it.

Everything seems fine to me. Don't really see anything wrong with him. His powers are fine.

Lanaya Ur-Kaldr is accepted.

@VampirateMace: Uh...what? You mean that first part was "in character"?
No, I mean I remember a lot of facts that I really don't have much use for in daily life. I thought it would be an appropriate trait for Lola as well, since she's descended from a god of knowledge.

@Vampirate: Oh, okay.

@Andydemon: Kitai looks good. Quick question though, do you have any plans for his mother for the RP?

Anyways, Kitai Hayashi is accepted.

Not sure, it would be interesting for his mother to make an appearance. I would just need a way to fit her into the story.

By the way, I decided to give Kitai a nickname. I edited it into my SU
