Naive Ideas

Have you ever been naive when playing the games, especially when you first started playing the games? For example:

I've been catching and training a lot of Latios and Latias just to find the perfect one. Now I figured out a way to control it's nature, so really, to find the perfect Latios and Latias, I just had to save before reading the TV announcement. It's nature is determined once you read the announcement, not on the first encounter, like all the other pokemon.

Another one:

I planted berries over and over again to get milotic. My brother, who's younger than me, said, "why don't you just go to the berry master?"

Note: I started with a Ruby version, I never had Blue, Red, Sliver, Gold, Etc.

When I first started playing Sapphire, I assumed that the classic (uncapped) EV system remained. I was quite disappointed to learn that my entire party (in their 70s) were permafuc‍ked.

It was until I came to this site that I learned that Hyper Beam, Fire Blast, Thunder, and Blizzard were bad moves. And that was two years ago. xD.

I caught a shiny Koffing in my Silver. . . and thought it was a glitch, so I restarted it x.x

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I thought Hyper Beam, Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, and Hydro Cannon were good. They stink!

I thought that having such attacks as nonoffensive moves were not good to have. Untill I came along to websites much like this, when I learned how it can be stronger. I mean my umbreon doesn't have any offense moves, but It will annoy and kill you while it heals.

I always train a goldeen when I´m lazy to get waterfall HM!

I EV trained wrong every Pokémon, I started a battle (*+2* in calculator), I use an attack to KO the opponent (Did I pressed? I think no, I´ll do it now *+2*), wins EXP. (YAY! it reached the leven 30! *+2*)
OR
"OK, I´ll just press +2 when I end the battle. *finishes the battle and forget about +2*"

Then I remembered that when an attack is used it loses 1PP, that is the same as 2 EV >.<

I didn't know about making good movesets when I started pokemon... My camerupt knew eruption, fire blast, overheat, and flamethrower at one point...

I knew nothing about EV training a while back, and when I did, I trained in worthless stats, like training my Rhydon in special attack.

When I was younger, I was Naiive about Rumours of cheats and stuff. I always broke my games.

I heard a rumor that if you catch 6 MissingNo. I would get a Mew.
I just flushed my Red down the toilet ( I actually did)

Not EV training. Or just not training my pokemon at all. Like walking up to the Elite 4 with one level 50something pokemon while the rest were at level 25. Not that smart. Or relying on ubers constantly instead of training the rest of my team.
And then one time I had my Absol with a moveset like Hyper Beam, Thunder, Blizzard, and Flamethrower.. Or something similiar to that. It seemed like a good idea at first, but it didn't help me at all. Just stupid stuff like that.

Oh, and when I got the red Gyarados in Crystal (the one in the Lake of Rage), I thought there was something wrong with my game, so I restarted it. Then, I learned it was shiny and was very happy when I was able to get it again.

at first i just kept the moves i liked and didn't know anything about ev training.

When I was 5/6, I thought STAB multipied the move's power by 15. FIFTEEN. So, most of my Pokémon only had moves from their own type.

Or my awesome theory that since using two tackles does more damage than using a tackle and a growl, the only useful defensive moves were Recover/Synthesis/etc.

I was once also thought that non-offensive moves are bad. Until I learned from this site and realized how stupid I am. I also think that Dark goes to Attack, and now I know that it's Special Attack. I should have check my Pokedex...there's a list of it.

I didn't know about IVs and EV training until I loooked them up on Serebii. Although I didn't start EV training until even later than that. I also didn't use those stat-raising moves EVER, but now I know there importance.

I used to give my water pokemon surf, waterfall ,dive, and hydro pump. Now I know that this moveset sucks.
