Cartoon Network, 9:30pm
Naruto comes on a half hour later tonight because of Batman.

Now that Zabuza's been defeated, the gang can safely guide Tazuna back to the Land of the Waves. As people relax after the difficult battle, some information about Naruto's past is revealed. Suddenly, a mist fills the air as our heroes find that their mission isn't quite over yet!

Post your thoughts about the episodes here. Please mark any spoilers for episodes not that have yet to air in America in spoiler tags.

Let's see how they react to Haku being on Zabuza's side. The fighting should be pretty good in this episode.

Geez, why are they throwing a live-action movie in Toonami? It's already bad enough they're having them on the network in general, but don't clog up some of the best episodes of the network's time with this crap. >_>

The episode's still on, but I like it. I'm still laughing at "What?! You're prettier than Sakura!"

Sweet now people know haku was kept as a boy. They pulled this ep off nicely. Can't wait for next weeks ep. It's gonna be full of action.

I can't believe I screamed when Haku said he was really a boy, as if to say to all the naysayers "I told you so!" but it also meant I missed when Naruto made the comment about Haku beating Sakura (in looks).

Speaking of which, it's kind of sad when a guy looks better than 98% of the female cast. One being a side character and the other a non-canon filler episode character. That's just me though.

Yeah, the scene with Haku saying, "By the way, I'm a boy" way very funny. Also, Cartoon Network has the titles for the next few episodes. I don't know how much they differ from their original names, but...

EPISODE #013: [SPOIL]"Haku's Secret Jutsu: Crystal Ice Mirrors!"[/SPOIL]
EPISODE #014: [SPOIL]"The Number One Hyperactive Knucklehead Ninja Joins the Fight!"[/SPOIL]
EPISODE #015: [SPOIL]"Zero Visibility: The Sharingan Shatters"[/SPOIL]
EPISODE #016: [SPOIL]"The Broken Seal"[/SPOIL]
EPISODE #017: [SPOIL]"White Past: Hidden Ambition"[/SPOIL]
EPISODE #018: [SPOIL]"The Weapons Known as Shinobi"[/SPOIL]

Batman and crap do NOT belong in the same sentence.

Yeah, Haku finally saying he's a boy was def. a highlight.

I so definetly agree with that statement.

Whoa, hold on there. I like Batman too, I just meant the whole idea of putting live action movies on Cartoon Network was a terrible idea. But not because it's Batman. In fact, it being a Batman movie is the only thing good about it. :p

Anyway, great episode. I was mistaken about the battle being this episode. I guess it's going to be next week.

You can tell Haku's a boy by looking at his non-existant breast. But the similarity to girls (even his pink kimono) is uncanny, so I didn't mind them clearing it up vocally in the episode.

I think Sasuke called Naruto a loser at least four times this episode. o_O

*dramatic sigh of forelorn* His cries of 'loser' are signs of his affections!

My friend and I played a game. She knew Haku's gender, I didn't, I had the whole month to come to a conclusion. Had you asked me when he was letting down his hair, I would've told you I was almost positive he was a girl.

My opinion reversed immediately as soon as he appeared again. Yep.

It doesn't hurt that my first thought when he made his introductory 'kill' was 'little boy'.

I hope someone stabs you in the eye with a fork.

What the HELL is wrong with the people who're bashing the very first Batman movie airing? Who cares if it's live action? It's the first Batman movie. THE GOOD ONE. The one made by Tim Burton. Just those two facts alone are good enough reasons to air it. Especially with Jack Nicholson as The Joker.

Jesus.

Anywhooo..

Highly agreed. :\ I was severely disappointed in the fact that the creator chose to make Haku a boy. Never has there been an anime male that looked so dead on as a female, especially with having the facial stucture (including eyelashes) of a female. :( Then of course later on [SPOIL]we get Tsunade but she turns out to actually be a bazillion years old and is only doing some sort of trick to appear young.[/SPOIL] D:

Episode itself was dubbed quite well. I can say without a doubt that Sasuke's English voice is so much better than the Japanese one.

As long as none of the Schumacker (sp?) Batman movies air, there's little need to complain. In terms of rebirths for the series, I thought Batman Begins was fairly decent though, can't say the same for "The Batman" though.

I know I say this a lot, but seriously I really don't mind the edits done in the Naruto dub. Last episode's edit was understandable (crucifixion is blasphemous to most Christians because it's not Jesus on there, also the image of a cross offends non-Christians) and ALMOST complimented the manga (Kaiza's arms were severed, not smashed and yet in the anime, his smashed arms were hung on the cross. It's actually hard to say if the uncut version was right, or if the editted version looks but not is similar in imagery to the manga).

Basically what I'm saying is that, it's not hard to make a faithful dub that's watchable. I really like that my 8 year old cousin and my friend's 7-year old brother (both EXTREMELY hyperactive) can give 30 minutes to the series' earlier moments and slower pacing. Surely other kids can too.

So it isn't just my nine year old sister that calmly watches Naruto with me. This is the frist time I have seen her faithfully watch an anime. o_O Thats like amazing for her.

Obviously not Cartoon Network.

I hate the fact that CN is showing live action movies, even if some of them *are* really good (like Batman and The Goonies). Because I've seen what happens when networks abandon their original vision. I don't want to see what happened to MTV happen to CN.

Overreacting? Maybe. But even if nothing comes out of this and CN never airs another live action anything ever again, I still think it's retarded to air live action movies on a network that's supposed to be devoted to animation.

You obvisously haven't seen many anime if you say that cause I found bunch of characters like that and still think they are a girl. Nuriko(Fushigi Yugi)this on takes the cake, Meille Fuille(Sorcerer Hunter), Kazuki(Getbackers), etc. Try looking at them and tell me what you think.

If it's anything like what happened to the remains of the High School anime club I started, the reason why CN is airing movies would have to be due to the lack of ideas running in the studio. Which is stupid, because there's a ton of cartoons OFF THE AIR that should re-air on CN or the Toonami block even if some of them aren't anime or new (and wasn't the point of having Toonami for action cartoons in general?)

In regards to the editing, I gotta say that I don't mind the editing. I haven't really watched any of the original episodes before episode 25, seeing as how at that time I tried going beyond what Shonen Jump was showing me, and with the way these guys edit things I would have never caught on on some of the edits unless I looked it up.

Their digital painting is absolutely clean and doesn't have any wobbly movements and is pretty much the same colors as the rest of the scene. I can say that at least these guys know what they're doing.

Unlike these guys.
