Naruto on YTV and Toonami: Weekend of May 5th Reviews

YTV: Akamaru Trembles: Gaara's Cruel Strength!

Last time on Naruto (*bark bark!*), GET OUTTA HERE AKAMARU! I'm trying to do the intro here! (*arf!*) Here boy, want a treat? (Arf!) Why must you bother me when I'm trying to type out a description for this week's episode. This time, now that this horrific incident of terror is over, Kiba-chan and friends are trying to take down more people for their scrolls when they come across Gaara, Kankuro, and Temari (no, not my "pairing", the real Temari) fighting Rain Ninjas, and we get to see a side of Gaara's powers we haven't seen before! (Arf Arf Arf!) What, you can't find Kiba-san? We'll find him, and we'll learn your secrets too!

Tonight on YTV at 8pm, don't miss it!

Also this week, we are trying something new today, combining the 2 talkbacks for Naruto this week into one thread!

Toonami: Sakura Blossoms!
Who has pink hair, made a parody of the first Harry Potter movie during the Land of Waves arc, is a 10 footer on Heavy but a 9 on Challenge, and has been only providing wisdom for the last few episodes, and her innter side is comic relief? Sakura of course! Finally, for the first time in the whole series Sakura actually does something interesting!

Saturday night at 9:30, only Toonami

I wish we'd air two episodes just once, to get back to the old status quo of you guys getting the episode the day before we do...

Hows this gonna work> Will the Canadians be using spoiler tags for us Americans who are 4 episodes behind

Chris

Yes. Please keep all spoilers in the spoilers tags, as the US is quite behind.

I found this episode bleh.

The voice acting was bad and I dislike how they used a black liquid instead of blood when Gaara killed the big guy.

We're only two episodes behind, and if Toonami aired two new episodes or Canada took a damned break for once we'd be back to the status quo I referenced before.

I think that black liquid may have actually been Oil...

[spoil]Explanation: I think Gaara's Sand Burial Jutsu encases the victim in sand, instantly fossilizes the victim, then crushes it to produce oil...[/spoil]

I thought the episode that aired here in America was pretty good. ^^ I liked it that Sakura stood up and fought for herself. ^^ The little memories of Ino and Sakura was cute too. ^.^!

Yes, I agree. Berserker Sakura was rather interesting.
Hmm, I suppose this decision to stand up for herself explains how [spoil]Inner Sakura is able to overpower Ino's ninpou[/spoil] in the Chuunin battles, despite the fact that Ino-chan was able to easily possess her in the first part of the exams...

[SPOIL]Probably because during the chunin exams she had a greater will to win against Ino's ninpou.[/SPOIL]

That Naruto was awesome. It was good to see Sakura finally fight on her own. Wow, Gaara appears in two episodes? I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out.

America's episode was interesting. Sakura finally fighting well was a first, [SPOIL]but unfortunately I read somewhere that after this she still hardly ever does anything anywhere near as cool as her teammates. :/[/SPOIL] Is this true?

So, each of the Sound Ninja have a special sound-manipulating device. At least the guys do, anyway... but what's Kin's sound-manipulating device? The voicebox?

...seriously though, will she reveal one in future episodes?

Kin battles Shikamaru later on, though I can't recall offhand how she fought. She didn't have anything as cool as Zaku's hand cannons or Dosu's arm thingy, though.

Also, as far as Sakura goes [SPOIL]She's going to suck for a LOOOONG time. Her battle with Ino is pathetic, she becomes a damsel in distress for the battle vs Gaara, and she begs Sasuke to take her with him when he leaves the village.

She eventually becomes pretty good, but that's so far ahead the anime hasn't even gotten there yet...[/SPOIL]

bells, strings and senbon needles
[spoil]She uses sound to confuse her enemies, as opposed to her teammates' techniques of disabling their opponents with or beating them with sound.
In the anime, her techniques including using a genjutsu to disorientate opponents.[/spoil]
