Navel Maneuvers!!

Arriving on Navel Island, Ash meets the Gym Leader Danny who Misty has a crush on. The first challenge Ash must face is to climb the mountain...followed by a geyser freezing contest, an ice carving contest and a mountain race. Will Ash be able to win with this or will he land head first in the snow?

This was an interesting gym battle, I mean all the other battles before this were mostly or all about battling, but this was all about how you and your pokemon communcate and work together ( I think thats whats the battles were mostly about) The first test Ash of climbing up the mountain was cute, Pikachu was having no trouble at all, but had some trouble. Ash falling off the mountain a little bit after getting mad at Misty for telling Danny to becare and not him was very cute.

This was another great Gym! It was so interesting to see how Danny ran his Gym and I liked when Ash, Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Squirtle had to carve the ice piece and it was hilarious when they had to race down the hill in it and it got smaller and smaller and then they shot into the sea.

I really liked this episode...mainly because im a pokeshipper but the orange islands battles were all great because they were different. Charizard helped without meaning to and we saw snow covered mountains and a tropical beach on the one island! Fascinating stuff...

Well, we do *kinda* see Danny again. He was in a flashback, I believe, in 'A Way Off, Day Off' which had a VERY suggesting song playing in the background. (What with the Ash and Danny scenes, and the song, it looked like a shippy music video.) And... he's in another flashback thing too. In 'Hello Pumello'. (It shows all the Orange Island Gym Leaders)

Hee, Danny... he was *so* coming onto Ash. And he had a ICE BEAMIN NIDOQUEEN! Which are awesome, 'cause they are.

Hey Joe, I can`t agree with you. I think, Misty has never had a crush on him.
He was just super nice for her, but probably, he is nice for almost every girl. I belive, Misty wanted make Ash jealous ;) that why she talked to Danny.
She said something like "Young kids are not interesting for me. I like adult guys". Ha! They are not interesting...ha! Everybody knows, she has a big crush on Satoshi!

She didn't initially have a big crush on him. Misty only happen to like him as soon he said "I've seen lots of beautiful things on this Island but nothing as beautiful as you!" rather than showing any immediate signs of affection as soon as she met him. That can happen sometimes when someone compliments you such as that and then suddenly you begin to fall for them!

Misty could of been trying to make Ash jealous, she certainly was trying to p*ss Ash off a lot, for example when they walked along the beach and Misty was talking to Danny, and to Ash too you could say as well lol "too bad certain other trainers can think that far ahead" or something along that line. Then a fight broke out.

I thought this episode was cute and funny. Misty's crush was adorable. I'm glad that Ash won though. 8.9/10

Even though this gym battle was so different from normal gym battles, I still think it was pretty interesting (especially Charizard eventually helping shape the sled with his flamethrower). Danny is definitely one of my favorite gym leaders. I like how Misty kept going gaga over him, and Danny kept assuming things that Ash totally denied (like Team Rocket being his friends). I think this is also the episode that includes the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" joke (James saying "Is that your final answer?"). :)

This was a well good gym "battle"(well, is wasn't really a battle) but it was great. Nidoqueen was so cool!!! Danny was cool, and it was fuuny when Misty fell in love!

This was an enjoyable episode but too predictable. I think this gym match was one of the lesser exciting ones. It's amazing how Ash wins by the skin of his teeth sometimes though.

This entire episode was very interesting. I loved the ending with Ash, Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle riding in the ice sled-thing.

I thought the Nidoqueen was awesome with Ice Beam. Although I had expected the Ice Beam to come from it's mouth but instead cam off the top of it's horn. That was interesting...

pretty good gym battle, even though they didnt battle. there should be more gym battles like this in the future, like once for every region, it would make it much moreinteresting to watch. 10/10 just because the gym battle was unique and fun to watch

Great episode even tough the battles were more like tests. The only downside was Misty flirting with Danny and being mean towards Ash.

:D This episode was really great. Actually, it was one of my favorites from the Orange Islands season. In general, I liked the way the Gyms were handled in OI. They were probably the most exciting and unique ones in the anime to me.

Danny was my second favorite Gym Leader from the Orange Islands, Cissy being the first. I always found Ash's determination to up-show him to be fun to watch. And Misty's crush on him was rather cute! :)
