Ghost, NecroKnight:

Just under three hours ago the NecroKnights launched their attack; they had taken over a barracks and were now using it as their headquarters.

Ghost let her hand drag along the wall as she walked. The wall was standard issue white. She couldn’t remember seeing a wall that wasn’t white, but the texture wasn’t always the same. This wall was almost smooth with little bumps. Todd, her vampire slave trailed behind her. He was alert, but submissive to follow behind her.

“Master, is this wise? Should we not return to the base?” he asked cautiously. Ghost turned to look at him, concern had spread across her face. He put the tips of his fingers together in what he assumed was a thoughtful looking motion.

“What do you mean?” she replied nervously. Todd knew she got scared easy, this was something he could take advantage of.

“Well, they know what you’re up to now, don’t you think they are planning to ambush us… and shot you?” he answered. Ghost began to shake; she decided to head back to the base. Todd smile, he wasn’t sure if he could stop the NecroKnight attacks, but at least he knew he had influence over his so called master.

Just under three hours ago the NecroKnights had launched their attack. And Lieutenant Walters was angry that no one had woken her up.

Just under three hours ago Lieutenant Walters was asleep. She had wanted a nice nap, after a day spent visiting her friends and family.

What's left of them anyway, Lieutenant Walters thought bitterly. Her parents, adoptive and birth, were dead. And her older brother went missing a few years ago.
And her friends? They were greatly disappointed in her choice to join the military, but they done their best to hide it. They were, after all, her friends.
Lieutenant Walters had once brought one of her friends to the military compound, to show her what it was like. But all the Lieutenant got was, 'You have a friend?' or, 'Another Ice Queen?'
The rude remarks had definitely put her friends off the military for good, as they now lived as normal civilians.

"So why didn't you wake me?" Lieutenant Walters asked her superior, Major Stride.
"Because it was unnessecary," was the calm reply from the Major, while Lieutenant Walters was boiling with rage, despite the fact that she was trying to hide it. And failing.
"If I had taken command out there, the Barracks might not be under the NecroKnights control!" Lieutenant Walters practically shouted.
"Well, if you'd listen Lieutenant-"
"No! You listen!" the Lieutenant cut him off, "I am one of the best Lieutenants in this area! I could've handled the situation!"
"Before you handle any more situations, you'd better handle your anger, Lieutenant," Major Stride replied calmly before adding, "Any more outbursts and you will be demoted."
This made Lieutenant Walters quiet. She didn'tt want to be stripped of her rank for lashing out at a superior officer. There was no respect in that at all.
"I understand sir," she said quietly, showing withdrawl, "No more outbursts."
The Major smiled as he said, "Good. Control your anger 'Ice Queen', and you may move up a rank."
Ugh! the Lieutenant thought, Even he's calling me my most common nickname? I'm gonna hurt whoever came up with Ice Queen!
"But to make it up to you," Major Stride continued, "We have a little mission that we believe you'll like."
The Lieutenant smiled and asked, "What is it?"
"You remember what happened to the Barracks?" Major Stride asked.
Lieutenant Walters smiled. She knew what the mission would be. And it involved something that she hadn't done for a long time. Something that she was slowly getting addicted to. Something the little Elyon Walters, who was now gone, would have been disgusted at the mere thought of.
And this something started with K.

The Necroknight known by his brothers as Armoury stood silently in the dimly lit hall of what had once been the army barracks, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest, cloak held tightly around his slender form.

He had enjoyed the killing. The screams of the living as they frantically ran from Armoury and his brothers, their dying wails as Armoury dropped from the sky into their midst, twin katana materialising out of thin air as he activated his special power. The gurgling in their throats as their corpses vomited darkening blood onto the shattered ground.

"Armoury."

Instantly, his eyes snapped open, a dagger already appearing in his hand. A moment later, he lowered the blade as he saw his sister Necroknight, Ghost, emerge from the shadows, her slave trailing in her wake. Armoury cursed himself for being caught off-guard.

"Will we be taking the fight to the mortals again soon?" he asked, easing his body away from the wall, "So long as it involves killing, I'm ready and willing to get started."

Her smile was the only answer.

Ghost, NecroKnight:

Ghost walked back along the white walls towards the door. Todd stalked slowly behind her head down; he was trying to figure out what he would do when they reached the headquarters barracks. Ghost began to hum. Todd lifted his head to look at her; being a vampire he had overly sensitive ears, it was horribly annoying and he couldn’t think for the noise. He waited for her to stop; surly someone so afraid of being shot would realize the noise would attract attention, and would stop. She didn’t stop, the noise was madding. He clinched his fists then realizing what the song she was humming was, he came up with an idea to stop her.

“Master, you know that song?” he said softly in fake curiosity. Ghost didn’t look back, but she stopped humming, clenched her fists, and replied, “Not really, I can’t remember what is called or any of the words, because SOME INGRATE HAD THE AUDACITY TO BRAINWASH ME! BUT, I assume the tune must have been ingrained so deeply in my mind that its still there.” After the yelling fit she’d ended in an almost loving tone, but her fists were still in a clenched position. Todd was glad she hadn’t turned around, he was sure there was a look of pure terror across his face; if she ever found out he’d been involved with her brainwashing…

A military doctor in a white suit had several people strapped into a machine. He directed Private Todd to go get some tools from the corner of the room. As Todd passed the machine he glance at the people, they looked dazed and in pain. Their mouth hung open and there eyes were wide in terror. Near the middle was a small lady probably still in her teens. She seemed more alert than the prisoners around her, she managed to lock her eyes onto Todd. She squinted at him and made a pointing gesture with her hand which was constrained down. Todd felt something inside himself that felt like he might die. Quickly he got the tools for the doctor, returned to him without looking at the prisoners and asked to go on break.

…Todd gathered up what was left of his courage, “It is a battle hymn, it is about god, and righteousness, and dying to set people free.”

“Dying to set people free?... Well then its appropriate isn’t it? They die and I’ll be free,” She said in a voice that sounded both angry and cheery. Todd sighed loudly. Ghost started to suspect Todd had a motive, so she returned to humming, even louder this time.

They passed through the metal doors to the courtyard area of the compound. On the other side several soldiers stood between them and the headquarters barracks. Ghost stopped humming.

Several moments later she passed their corpses into the barracks, where she met Armoury who quickly questioned her. She smiled and though a moment...

“I thought you were out killing,” she said to Armoury, “After all you enjoy blood, even Todd here like blood. Don’t you Todd?” Todd muttered something unkind. “I’m glad you are here brother,” she said softly to Armoury, “I did not want to go back out, not without someone reliable to watch my back.” She glared a Todd. Todd lifted his hands in confusion, “It’s not like I called the soldiers out there! Hey guys, want to come die?”

Elysia

Elysia appeared to be quite innocent within all the carnage, with his trusted advisor and friend Evundyne beside him. Evundyne looked strangely better than what could be called grotesque despite being a zombie. Due to the relationship of Evundyne and Elysia, many of the Necroknights did not even bother considering Evundyne as a slave. They thought that she was quite a capable fighter who possessed the cunning and sly wits to match. Elysia and Evundyne were both strolling down the bare, white-lustred silver walls of the Barracks, where they caught the sight of a fellow Necroknight who they addressed as Armoury. Of course, being quite the perceptive pair, they guessed that this Armoury had a proper, full name aside from a code-name of sorts, but they decided not to pry into his own affairs. Evundyne chimed in with an innocent tone "I suppose this marks the end of our battle?" and beckoned towards the path that lay ahead of them. Elysia shook his head, which Evundyne took as a no, albeit with disdain.

Elysia walked ahead in order to greet Armoury, where Evundyne quickly scurried to Elysia cursing. Evundyne didn't really like Elysia's reasons for vengeance as she found it quite petty, but she really didn't want to go up against Elysia, whom Evundyne knew was smarter and a little tougher than she was. Elysia walked towards Armoury and groped around himself checking to see if the scabbard containing his weapon was there. Sighing in quick relief, he said to Armoury with a casual tone "Seems you've done your share of slaughter?" and at that remark, Evundyne wanted to slap herself in the face. To Evundyne, this battle was for freedom and security, not for vengeance, revenge nor retribution. She felt like intervening but restrained herself.

Without opening his eyes, Armoury gave a grim smile in the direction of his brother Necroknight.

"And then some. Don't worry, brother, you can always count on me to deliver when the battle begins-"

He cut off abruptly, his hightened senses picking up a faint noise in the distance. He had heard it enough times during his time as a slave to know what it was.

"Tanks!" he hissed sharply. Before his fellow Necroknights could react, he vaulted into the air duct above him, already making his way to the roof to prepare for battle.

Evundyne scowled, and then Elysia slapped his forehead. "He's an excitable one, isn't he?" Evundyne questioned, where Elysia simply nodded. He was at a loss for words. Especially since it was virtually impossible for a small group, even a battalion, of tanks to reach the premises so quickly. Of course, there was the prospect that they weren't actually tanks, but rather the fast APCs which carried reinforcements in the form of footsoldiers. However, Armoury's expert senses were to be trusted. Even Evundyne, one of the pickiest creatures around in the area had approved of it after she had gotten to learn of his heightened senses and his other supernatural abilities. Elysia growled. "If there really are tanks, he is seriously going to have some trouble taking care of that on his own, isn't he?"
"Of course," Evundyne snorted. "It would be foolish to take care of a group of tanks on foot alone."
"Exactly. Which is why I'm going to call for some backup."
Evundyne nodded as Elysia whispered a command. The afterlife zombie had already begun to sprint through the halls of the Barracks as she arrived at the entrance, and learned what was the unthinkable. Not only was there a group of large armoured tanks, but there were also a few assault jeeps fitted with a tripod-mounted machine gun. She cursed under her breath. Meanwhile, Elysia had created a dark, nebulous portal where three or so large, humanoid creatures stepped out. These were one of Elysia's most trusted summoned beings, and they trusted him equally well. The creatures snorted while Elysia explained the situation. Their only reply was an excitable grunt and a volatile snort as they began to charge through the same path as Evundyne.
Elysia grinned as he followed his servants of the darkness out onto the battlefield, where he would begin to gaze at the roof where Armoury would arrive. Armoury would expect far more than a few tanks. He would end up witnessing a small squadron.

Those human scum are truly determined, even if they are a bunch of filthy ingrates capable of nothing but futility. Elysia thought in his head.

Arriving on the roof, Armoury surveyed the oncoming troops with interest.

So, rather more than tanks, he mused, catfalling to the ground beside Ghost, who showed no sign of surprise at his sudden entrance. Summoning a long, blue edged sword, Armoury spoke quietly to his sister Necroknight.

"Shall I leave survivors, or am I allowed to enjoy the slaughter?"

Without looking at him, she gestured to the tanks.

"Deal with the armour. Leave the foot troops to us."

Nodding, Armoury concealed his sword within the folds of his cloak and sprinted towards the oncoming tanks.

Lieutenant Walters was confident in the foot troops ability. But she just couldn't resist joining in on the battle. Who could?
"Everyone! You know what your mission is! Kill anything that gets in your way!" Lieutenant Walters commanded then added, "Go!"
All the foot troops started heading towards the barracks whil the Lieutenant spotted a NecroKnight on the roof. She smiled as she started to take aim at him.
Say good night, she thought as she pulled the trigger on her rifle.
The shot hit where she intended it to but there was no body.
"Damn!" Lietenant Walters cursed. The shot must have missed the NecroKnight. Lieutenant Walters then followed the rest of the foot troops to the barracks.

Armoury silently registered that someone had shot at him moments before, yet ignored it, focused on his mission. As he drew level with the lead tank, he slashed out with the sword, cloak billowing. The blade glowed sapphire as it carved deep into the flank of the tank.

Even as he leapt towards the next tank, Armoury heard the satisfying explosion of his previous target, and the even better sound of the screams as the crew were immolated. Bounding effortlessly from tank to tank, Armoury slashed through four of the vehicles in quick succession. He loved his work.

As he dropped from the burnt-out shell of the fourth tank, he paused as he noticed the footsoldiers surrounding him, rifles trained on his body. A woman, apparrently the commanding officer, stepped towards him coldly. Armoury smiled grimly.

"Not bad."

He brought the sword up before him.

"For dead men..."

"Alright then," Elysia instructed. "You are to ravage through their ranks. Do so in however way you please." The creatures nodded with a grin as they dashed towards the footmen. These beings were one of those who would retreat when almost done for and returned to the Elysium for recovery, until Elysia called them again. He had told Evundyne to stay and keep watch in case there were any survivors. She nodded and stayed put whilst Elysia had his grip on his weapon. He had mastered the art of resisting rifle fire with his blade, and that was a great asset considering that one of the footsoldiers had just tried to snipe at Armoury, and from the ground, no less. It appeared to be the commanding officer! What a fool. Elysia dashed at a quick pace following his trusted servants and began to unsheathe his weapon before letting loose all carnage with a flurry of wide arcing slashes which killed many of the footsoldiers. Meanwhile, the creatures managed to toss the infantry units into one another, and the impact was more than enough to scare some of them away, who turned tail and run. Elysia laughed amidst all this.

As one, the soldiers opened fire. Reacting instantly, Armoury launched himself into the air, allowing the bullets to streak past him and blast the surprised mortals beyond instead. Nearly a dozen men fell, cut down by their own comrades.

As he landed, Armoury lashed out with the blade, cutting through the mortals' armour and gashing their flesh easily. Close by, he could see Elysia approaching with his followers, hacking a path towards him. The woman was gone, vanished into the ranks of her men, but she did not matter. All that mattered was the killing.

***

Close by, an ageing man watched the Necroknight's progress with great interest.

"So, you're the one they call Armoury..." he mused to himself, stroking his goatee beard in thought, "I'll enjoy breaking you."

He turned to the young woman - his own personal, loyal Necromancer - standing behind him. Nodding, he gestured to the Necroknight in the distance.

"Bring him in for me, my friend."

The female's lips twisted in a cruel smile.

"Yes, master."

Lieutenant Walters wasn't too much of a gun fan, she'd have to admit. She'd prefer more combat like weapons. But against these NecroKnights, she would kill them anyway she could. And if she missed one, oh was she ever going to be frustrated.
Lieutenant Walters was looking through all the NecroKnights for the one that had evaded her gun shot. She wanted him dead. And the rest of them.
She snapped out of her hunt mode when she heard the destruction of a Tank and ran towards it, like most other foot soldiers.
As she saw the NecroKnight responsible srep out of the Tanks shell, she noticed that it was the one from before. She stepped towards him coldly and heard him say something.
But it was when he raised his sword the Lieutenant hissed a command, loud enough for her fellow foot soldiers to hear. That command was simpl and common. It was, "Fire."
Lieutenant Walters shot her gun a few times but frustrated with the amount of misses, she decided to hunt him down another time. Maybe when he was more worn out and couldn't move as fast.
Then she heard screams from her fellow team mates. As she turned around she saw the same NecroKnight before felled men.
"Stride needs a better plan," she muttered, acknowledging the fact that this could be a fatal battle for humans. They were clearly being cleared off. Being slaughtered one by one.
I'll just have to return the favour, Lieutenant Walters grinned at the thought as she started shooting at some creatures that were coming her way. Some creatures took the hit harder than others but Lieutenant Walters was actually enjoying herself. Enjoying the killing. So long since she had killed something, that she had missed it until now.

Armoury saw the woman before him, killing his brother's creatures. Her focus had been completely removed from him for the time being - a fatal mistake.

However, as he threw himself towards her, another woman dropped out of the sky in front of him, blocking his way. Clad from neck to toe in a skintight black catsuit, she was barely taller than Armoury himself, with cascading strawberry blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. As Armoury re-summoned his sword, her eyes glinted confidently.

"That is a lovely trick," she purred, as her own right fist began glowing, "too bad it's not unique."

Before Armoury could move, a heavy metal gauntlet formed around her hand. With impossible speed, she darted forwards and struck Armoury in the gut, sending him flying. He barely had time to register that she was a Necromancer before blacking out.

Lieutenant Walters heard something behind her. As she snapped around to see what it was, she saw that a Loyal Necromancer had hit the Lieutenants previous target. Despite her annoyance that it wasn't her who finished the NecroKnight off, Lieutenant Walters was thankful that there were actually some Loyal NecroKnights around. Before she hadn't seen any and doubted that they were sent into battle.

"Nice shot," Lieutenant Walters congratulated the Loyal NecroKnight. But was ignored.
Fine then, she thought bitterly but shook it off quickly as she started shooting at the creatures again.

Then she got an idea. Calling over some of the other foot soldiers, Lieutenant Walters lead them towards the unconcious NecroKnight.
"How about we keep this one to ourselves boys?" Lieutenant Walyers suggested. "Take him back to HQ."
They nodded and started to wrap him up to chuck the NecroKnight in a truck.
Lieutenant Walters day was getting better already.

Armoury's eyes snapped open just in time to discover himself being lifted into a truck. Summoning two blades from the ether, he slashed the two nearest soldiers and dropped painfully to the ground.

Even as he leapt into the air to evade the remaining soldiers, the Necromancer threw herself back into combat, this time smashing the gauntlet into his jaw and smashing him back into the ground. Soldiers began to surround them as the two combatants faced each other.

"Who are you?" Armoury growled, his blades held out before him.

"I am Necromancer 112426 - note that's the number after your own," the female replied, "I suppose you could call me Armoury mk II, but my master calls me Arsenal. I share all of your powers, but few of your weaknesses. I don't tire by using my powers as you do. We could be an unstoppable force together, you and I."

She held out a gloved hand.

"Return to us, 112425 - or be destroyed."

Armoury snarled and threw himself at Arsenal, slamming her away. Falling into a crouch, he held his blades ready.

"My name's Armoury."

Elysia cursed to himself as he saw Armoury get tossed into the APC. Luckily, Armoury had just awoken consciousness. Elysia's summoned creatures had already retreated back to the Elysium for recovery, but at least they weren't fallen. That would be the last thing that he wanted. Elysia had dashed for the APC just before it had begun acceleration and slashed its tires off before retreating back to Evundyne in the Barracks, undetected. Elysia laughed softly along the way. When he had reached Evundyne, he said with a quiet voice "They've got Armoury."
"They what?"
"They have Armoury. Some renegade Necromancer did it," Elysia said. "Put him into a truck. I don't think they'll be going very far, though."
Evundyne nodded as she saw Elysia's wink. They both went into the Barracks bursting out laughing in order to try and plan their next move.

"You need a better plan!" Lieutenant Walters shouted through her hand radio.
"What do you mean?" Major Stride asked, keeping calm.
"What do I mean?! We are getting slaughtered out here!" the Lieutenant shouted back as she hid behind a steel barrel. The gun fire had gone a bit crazy so a fellow foot soldier might accidentally shoot her.
"You seemed confident beforehand. Why don't--"
"Why don't you just shut the hell up and listen! We are being slaughtered! They're picking us off! You need to give the command to withdraw us or lives will be lost!"
Lieutenant Walters felt her face go red with anger. Stride was supposed to be smart. He should've seen this happen and not have launched an attack.
"I will not withdraw the men because--"
Lieutenant Walters threw the hand radio away in frustration. She was dead angry. Her superior officer knew that they were dying out there and he was going to continue to let them die?!
Not with lieutenant Walters anger. She climbed up onto the roof and shouted to her fellow foot soldiers.
"Fold back! Return to base!" she shouted hoping to sway them. "It's an order from Major Stride!"
The last sentance said, all of the foot soldiers, that weren't engaged in battle, retreated back. In fact, the last sentance probably didn't nned to sway them as they surely wanted to live.
Lieutenant Walters climbed down a bit then jumped as she was planning to escape this hell hole herself.
A NecroKnight came up to Lieutenant Walters without warning and was about to hit her when she tripped over a dead carcass.
"Cower little man," the NecroKnight said in one of the most evil and death voices the Lieutenant had ever heard.
She instinctively picked up her gun and fired it like crazy. She caused pain in the NecroKnights upper arm but he didn't seem to mind.
"A commanding offier, eh? And whats this? You're a female?"
"And you're a corrupted creation that deserves to die," Lieutenant Walters spat.
"And who created us girly?" the NecroKnight rhetorically asked, ignoring Walters previous comment.
"I don't care but I know who's going to bring and end to your kind," Lieutenant Walters spat again, gripping her gun.
"Would we really fear you and the rest of you pathetic humans?" The NecroMancer asked . Lieutenant Walters guessed that he was, once again, being rhetorical.
But she did not answer. Instead she focused on getting her gun ready as unnoticable as she could. But the NecroKnight saw her.
"Wel, well, well," he mused taking a step closer to her. "You humans don't give up, do you?"
Lieutenant Walters pulled the trigger and shot him in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground.
"And you bloody things won't die," she replied standing up. "And if you're going to kill someone, kill them."
With that Lieutenant Walters walked off, leaving the NecroKnight in pain. He wouldn't die but he was seriously wounded for a period of time. Enough time for the Lieutenant to get away.

Armoury bellowed in agony as the wound in his chest burst open, spraying crimson blood over the parched ground. The cowardly officer and her troops were retreating in dissaray, thier transports destroyed and most of them dead or dying.

"Aww, does it hurt, little Necroknight?" a fimiliar voice simpered. Armoury glared up at Arsenal as she landed before him, a pair of metal wings sprouting from her back. Focusing the rest of his waning strength, Armoury stood, a primitive jet pack - all he could muster - forming on his back.

"I'll stop you...even if I have to tear you apart with my bare hands!" he snarled. Arsenal giggled and took off into the air.

"You'll have to catch me first, little Necroknight!" she cackled as she soared away, "We'll meet again soon!"

"C-come back-" Armoury gasped, falling onto all fours, "Come-"

He didn't finish the sentence. He barely saw his brother and sister Necroknights running to him as his strength failed him.

Elysia sighed in relief, but it wasn't over yet. Armoury was gravely wounded. He wouldn't obviously die, but he didn't want to see a fellow kinsman suffer in agony. He had a dark, mean demeanor in his personality when referring to the humans and the renegade "Loyal" Necromancers, but within the ranks he had a "heart of gold," to be cliche with it. Evundyne and Elysia both started to dash for Armoury, and within the vicinity Elysia noticed the ground around Armoury soaked incarnadine, with the blood that was spilt upon the hands of the dastardly humans. Evundyne suddenly realized why Elysia was so hellbent on causing destruction within the human ranks. She realized why. Being immortal wasn't such a good thing. It meant that you would have to suffer all the pain you get, all in agony, dreading each passing day for a chance of recovery. Elysia called two spirits from the Elysium, these two spirits were actually unique for they had names which Elysia knew - Selisylf and Nieutens - both of which were a pale, deathly white and floated in the air like the ethereal beings that they were. Selisylf and Nieutens were quite renowned in the Netherworlds for their amazing treatment ability. However, Elysia was sure that such a wound would not be able to be treated so simply. Armoury needed rest. Selisylf glanced at the fallen Armoury where Nieutens was circling Armoury sprinkling some sort of black dust.

"Nieutens and Selisylf are merely treating you," Elysia whispered. "You'll be alright, you just need rest."
