Did you save in a Pokemon center in Fire Red? Did you fix the Network Machine in Fire Red? Also, when you turn it on, does it say "Save file is corrupt. The previous save file will be loaded."?

yea i saved at a pokemon center.. i fixed the network machine and it doesnt say saved file is corrupted ..

i did before but it doesnt now >_< .. so wat if i start a new game in my fire red.. beat the game and dont make it say that .. would it work?

and i tryed it in my ruby, leaf green and emerald .. -.- i duno ..

in my ruby it said the saved file corrupted but it doesnt at the moment ..

and how would that effect the trade..?

Did you beat XD's Grand Master (boss)? Only then will you have the ability to trade. If you used a cheat device in Fire Red, it could have altered the game not to trade, or it altered it so XD couldn't recognize the coding, or so I've been told by my small game mechanics knowledge.

Well, I don't remember what I traded.. because it was a lot. But I guess step-by-step procedure would be to first save in a Pokémon Center in the GBA games and make sure it's saved properly. Also, the GBA games have beaten the Elite Four once, and along the fact that you've beaten Greevil in XD. Then well, if you can talk to the lady in Phenac City to trade, then you probably have beaten Greevil.. You turned on the Gameboy Advance when it tells you to, and hopefully you get connected. Make sure it's tradeable and not an Egg or cheated Mew, which you said you haven't cheated in your FireRed.

The problem might be the cable, that it could be too loose or something. Try plugging it in deeper into the Gamecube, same with the GBA. Or you could disconnect everything and try again.

Did you drop your GBA much or something? I was unable to use the Battle Mode in XD with my boyfriend's gameboy but was able to with my own.. to test things. But I never found out what happened, because it worked later on.. the week(s).

You can try with his, sure.

I don't know about GBA alone.. since I don't have one. I have the SP one.. which I found out not too long ago. :p

Yeah, it can be a regular GBA. I *think* the only thing it can't be is a Micro since I believe that it requires a special cord.

Also, when latching the GBA unit to the GBA/SP, make sure the connector bit is snugly and deeply in the GBA extension port. It might help to push down on it; it ought to click.
