I have absolutely no idea what any of this means, or whatever code this is, so I figured I'd search the web for something (the forums here are only one of many forums I'm asking about this code). I really just want to help my bud out with this, I don't want to let him down. All help is appreciated in advance.

My guess it's from a mail attachment? or this code is generated from a different format of file.

The slashes bother me as well - - It's looks as if either they seperate a word, or a letter. As in out of all the Letters between those slashes, only one of them is correct, but that would be if someone coded it by adding junk. The file still looks more like the data of a mail or attachment, let me perform some tests, brb.

That's interesting, but that wouldn't make sense slightly, due to the repeats of "A", but you could be right, if it was a person that coded it made 9 = h j = I, and then filled it up with junk...

Ok... from what I see, it is most likely to had come from a Mail that had an attachment on it. It could be a failed to send E-mail, and then the Attached file code was just represented by this, that's my opinion. In other words, that code there would probably won't mean a thing, and that it's only a (faulty?) conversion of the code of an attachment.


*Try it. Send an E-mail with an attachment that most likely to cause an error, and you'll receive an E-mail from DAEMON (I think that's how you spell it), saying failed to send, and you'll have the attachment in what you have posted there.

Actually my pal was trying to code something (he's taking a few programming courses) and was trying to edit a program (some old gameboy emulator) out of curiousity and he found that. Neither of us have the experience to decipher or decode it though, so he sent it to me in a txt file to see If I could do something about it.

It can't be code viewed in a text editor, since the symbols and structure that comes out is different - They don't appear as letters and numbers.

Looking at the file, it's not even Hexidecimal or Assembly Language : P

Like Latios said, it's just code that was trying to be translated into text, so it's just... data, that won't mean a thing.

My Theory:
If a set of code of a different file format from text files (e.g. jpgs), is viewed and saved in another format of a text file, that file can not be runned, even if you change the extension, although, the computer can still detect the original format and filesize, if you look through those text in the file, but it depends on what kind of file format it was originally.

Some programmers, will probably know how to convert this back to the original format though, but still it depends if the file had loss of values in the code during the conversion into text.

It could be any type of file, and I can't find any clues of what it is from that. It looks like a small file though. I t could be a Temporary file or even a file to store something.
