Need some serious help please

Well, I need help with my computer, I just got it back today after it was been fixed, which was because the computer had kept turning off then on and then off again like every 3 seconds, the XP windoww thngie doesn't even show up.
It happrened twice this year (And I only got the thing last year), and the people at the Harvey Norman or wherever it was fixed don't know what's wrrong with it.
The first time it did it, was during a storm, I was playing a game 9I think The Sims 2), and when the power flicked off then on, so did the computer, but it didn't turn back on, well it did, but it turned on for like a second then turned off, then turned on and so on, so we unplugged and thought it had to do something with the fan and it overheating.
So it was fixed, but then two weeks ago, the computer had stuffed up again when I was playing Grand Auto Theft: San Andreas, and see what happened, was I was playing the game and then pressed escaped to get to the main menu, but the game just froze up and then started to do it again, 9I turned it off manually and then turned it on again), but it started to turn off and then turn on every two seconds again, and the people who fixed it couldn't find the fault in it

So we don't know what's going on, could it be because alot it turned off manually (By me, because it usually freezes up when I am playing games such as Vice City and San Andreas and then I have to turn it off then turn it on.

Or could it be the games itself? (GGrand Theft Auto: ASan Andreas and Vuice City, but VC does it more)

Sounds like it could be a faulty power supply. 'Course, I can't tell you for sure without looking at it, but it's a definite possibility.

Trip- They said they checked that, so that's not the problem
Rufinito- Um, I do't know, I don't know what you mean either

If it's not a faulty power supply (Which would be my guess) it'd be a motherboard problem. Something like your CD drive could be crushing against it maybe? When I got mine it turned off a lot due to heating issues, which was mostly caused by the CD drive rubbing against it.

Also, if you turn it off and on, I hope you don't do it straight away. The harddisk needs a few moments to spin down first.

Wow, that just screamed faulty power supply at me.

Hmm, if it's not the power supply... when you turn it off for any period of time and turn it on again, does it last a while and then start it's off-and-on thing, or does it do it right away? If it lasts a while, it's possible that the CPU fan isn't seated correctly (read--it's not pulling the heat off the CPU properly) and the board is automatically shutting it down to prevent damage.

It sounds relatively off the wall to me, but that's really all I can think of if it's not the power supply.

By "they checked that," do they mean that they actually tried swapping it out, or do they mean they hooked a tester up to it? Because I've had faulty power supplies that passed the tester.

Trip- It turns off right away, it turns off then turns for for a few seconds, but nothing pops up on the screen because it immedietely turns off again and keeps doing it until I unplug it (Or did it anyway), and I am not sure how they checked it
Kal-Le- Actually, when my computers freezes up (Mainly cuuz of San Andreas or Vice city), I turn it off the immedity press the button down and wait for 10- seconds for it to turn on, whhile my finger still on the button
Latios- Maybe, can't remeber if it a new powerboard (Or power bar, can't remeber what we call it;)) or not, but it is on the floor, in a sort of corner where my bag and such are tossed (Not on it, but near it),, but I do have a bird in my room who likes tossing the seeds outside, could any seeds getting into the board affect it? Or amnny dust.
And the Monitor, sometimes it gets dirty with dust (It under the table/desk where I put my legs), I(It's the mintor tright? The one that isn't the computer screen), well alot actually and I don't clear it, could that be a result as well?

try moving the computer to a different plugpoint on a different wall. It could be that there is faulty connection on that wall behind it.
