Need to evolve by trading?

I just found a really neat trick ^_^; sorry if its old news but you can put up your pokemon on the GTS say for a pokemon like agunomu lv10 and bellow so it doesnt get taken, go back and take him off the GTS and he will evolve!

how awesome is this? you can make your own pokemon evolve without trading with anyone else or using 2 DS! XD

EDIT: Just tried this with a graveller once I saw my kadabra evolve, and it didnt work immediately.
I tried leaving him in the gts and going out and back in and still nothing. You probably need to leave him for at least a day in the gts so the game thinks its left or something...

I wonder if my alakazam will level up faster now that the game thinks it has been "traded"?

I've tried it before with a Scyther, I put it up on the GTS with a Metal Coat, then took it back, and nothing happened. Then again, I only kept it in there for about 5 minutes, I'm gonna go try it out with my Dusclops to see if keeping it in there longer works.

Maybe it only works with pokemon who dont have to hold items to evolve cause I did it with my Gravler.

This has happened to me before, with Kadabra. I got it back off GTS and it evolved into an Alakazam. And no, I don't lie.

Then again that was weird when it happened. You see, when I first checked the status of Kadabra on GTS before getting it again, the picture was of a Mew. Again, I'm not lying. It just must've been some really weird bug.

Thats really weird. my kadabra was okay when I checked it on the gts, then I got it back just for a laugh jokingly to see if it would evolve and I was so surprised when it did!

I seriously doubt it...I kind of wish news about glitches wouldn't spread so fast. Keeping some of the glitches would be nice. Also, every glitch discovered means it will take them longer to fix them and therefore take them longer to release D/P in the US.
