I think it looks rather cool to be honest. The design is fresh and still in line with the retro that the designers wanted, and the prospect of being able to play all the old NES games without any difference to controller or game carts is welcoming.

Thoughts?

At least I know what to get if and when my NES goes kaput (not that that's going to happen anytime soon...I've taken great care of it!)

I wish I had some NES games. I have a SNES, which probably won't work.

The price is $59.99. I say, that's definately a sleek looking piece of technology right there. And for those wondering, if you bought that, you won't get in trouble with Nintendo. The design and NES itself are no longer under Nintendo's license, leaving it up to people to do as they please with it (hence why some company made a PSx in the shape of a slim NES..or was it a PS2? I can't recall).

Yeah, I want one, but with the Revolution(and downloadable games) not too far off I wonder if it's worth it..

I played NES when I was young, But I have a SNES at home which I think is one of the best consoles ever made. Games as Zelda A Link to The Past, Harvest Moon, Illusion of Gaia(Time), Soul Blazer and Terranigma (Thank God enix for those last 3) are just amazing. Yet today, I'd choose to play an original Terranigma cartridge over Call of Duty 2 or something.

On the one hand, the Revolution is coming out sometime next year and will be able to play nintendo games and MUCH MUCH more.

On the other hand, from all the info I know about it the Revolution may come out in November, which though is not terribly long it is stll quite a while. There's also the fact that this good for those nostalgic people. And the orignal nes like controller, which is not only something to help those nostalgia factors but also for those that just like that controller better. Plus $59.99 is not a bad price at all. And though the revolution does have the NES games, Nintendo HAS announced that some of those games may be redesigned, so you can't play the original version of some games.

Summory: I say it's pretty good. It's kinda like a NES version of the GBA micro, but out with better timing, and a lot more good things about it.

My NES is still fine, so no need for this. But if it ever goes kablooie, I'll know that my long search for an original Legend of Zelda cart won't be for naught.

Not to mention, it's still up in the air if we have to pay to download the games or not. Some signs are pointing to that.

This is so cool! But I doubt I'll be getting one. I'll prolly only spend about 1hr on it until I get bored!

Muh, I've got a grey LoZ cart (if you weren't talking about the gold ones), but my NES doesn't work. I'm very grateful for the NEX.
