The only thing in this shot that looks like classic Ash is the hair. The rest of his face looks nothing like Ash. If anything, it looks like some 'bishonen' from a 90s shoujo series.

That being said, it still looks better than SM Ash.

Guessing this won't end with a conclusive ending. It'll probably end on Ash meeting up with all his old friends and Pokemon and then setting off with Pikachu for more travels offscreen. This also leaves the door open for Ash to come back in specials in the future
