• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Burgh. That name still bothers me. I've actually been tempted to call him Arti, but I know that some people on here flip out when you use Japanese names instead of English names. I don't know much about Burgh, but I do like his belt buckle. I find it odd that he had a thing for Elesa, though. I mean, I didn't think that Burgh was interested in Elesa or girls at all for that matter. Just kidding, but I do understand how someone could fall for Elesa. She's a model, after all.
Burgh had a thing for Elesa? o-o I'm not disagreeing with you I just want to know where you heard that from because I've never heard it before :3. Was it from the game or anime?

I heard it from this thread. It was posted a while ago and I remember it because I was shocked to learn that Burgh liked Elesa. I also remember someone mentioning that Burgh "admired" Lenora because she "inspired" him. Not sure what to make of that, but it's pretty interesting. I like that the Gym Leaders leave their towns to visit other places. Clay visits Twist Mountain and gives fossils to Lenora, Burgh visits Nacrene City since he lived there once and Iris sort of wanders around from time to time.

Down the rabbit hole
Screw flying a plane, it makes her look beautiful.

Well personally I found it made her look rather hideous. I do understand what you mean though. When I look at her I keep thinking she's some distant relative of Megaman. I mean look at her gloves. Personally I would have preferred they had her wear a full body air force suit, eh ce la vie...

I don't think it makes her look hideous per se, but it doesn't look well on her. They tried to make her show too much skin, and it's sort of sad that they did that on a children's game. I'm surprised that she wasn't censored, but I guess they just didn't care about her outfit in the end. Lenora also stayed uncensored, which gave me hope that she'd look the same in the anime. But then, you know, she got censored anyway.

I also liked how the gym leaders visited each other at different points of the game. To me, gym leaders seem like they're part of this small community, not just eight randomly separated people. In previous games, it made it seem like each gym leader was completely cut-off from the other, which makes very little sense if you actually consider who gym leaders are. So I'm glad they improved on that in this game.

Eh i must say my comment was...

... how do you put it? Maybe harsh or "wrong?". Not trying to be racist but i totally forgot about the sick pokemon. But because you never actually saw it i thought she was lieing and just wanted to watch me climb up a tower die'n so. I find her a little wierd too so. I think my post was wrong saying she had a brain tumor and GOD knows how i even came up with that one.

On to the other gym leaders, Cilan Cress and the fire dude? ( forgot the name) I have no comment for. I think that Lenora was pretty cool and burgh disturbed me with his paintings ( yes i know you never saw them up close) and a gym full of HONEY. That place is most likely gone off ( get my bad pun?)I find Elesa inspiring! Scratch that, inspring to Bianca. Clay was awesome he sounded like that old cowboy what was his name? Moving on, skipping Skyla, Brycen i think it was? I think he thought he was a super hero which disturbed me a little...
I thought Drayden was awesome and Iris was suprise surprise kinda good. I take back my previos comment btw.

I never tried to translate it by myself, but *apparently* the Japanese text for that encounter is a bit different...

(A girl walks over.)
???: Professor Araragi, who's this trainer?
Araragi: Oh! ...Oh! Sorry, I'm sorry.
Skyla, this is White, an acquaintance of my daughter!
White's journeying through Isshu, aiming to complete the Pokédex.
Skyla: I see! Then you'll probably challenge the gym here, right? Wow! I'm really looking forward to it!!
Araragi: Yeah, White! It'd be great if you challenged her!
I'm sure you'll just soar right through the gym here!
Well, Skyla, if anything comes up again, I'm counting on you!
Skyla: ...Professor, my plane's a cargo plane!
It carries luggage, not people.
...Not to mention places like Kanto and Sinnoh aren't easy destinations!
Araragi: Hey, now, don't be so harsh while you're making such a cute face...
Humans need to help each other, just like we do with Pokémon!
Well, you two, hope we meet again!
(Mr. Araragi leaves.)
Skyla: ...Why!
So irresponsible for a world-renowned Pokémon professor! I still don't believe it.
Now, White!
As the gym leader, I'd be very glad if you were to challenge my gym.
But first, there's something I need to do.
Earlier, when I was flying my cargo plane...
I saw something atop the Tower of Heaven.
It was a weakened Pokémon, I'm sure of it!
I can't very well ignore it, now can I? So I'm going ahead and investigating!
That said, I'm going to the Tower of Heaven on Route 7... And if you want, you can come too.

Well Burgh does seem like the kind of person who just falls in love with anything with a pulse.

I agree. I like how they're playing a perfect role in B/W.

No, but will think that Emmet and Ingo are related? Or are they just friends?

If you ask me, the actual faces of Emmet and Ingo look exactly identical. I would even go as far as saying they're twins.

Normally, I'd call you out for a comment like that, but that was pretty funny. I just think that Burgh has an easy-going attitude, and that lets him bond with a lot of people. I still don't like him much, but at least he's interesting. I just wish his fashion sense would improve. He looks terrible, aside from the butterfly belt buckle. But moving on: I still think there's a chance that Emmet and Ingo are rebots. Their faces are just too weird to be human.

Burgh is very flamboyant. I don't know about falling in love with everything, but he does seem...I don't know the word for it.

Their faces are exactly the same in the official artwork. If you cut them down the middle and place them side-by-side, it looks like one whole face. It's just that one has a smiling face, while the other has a frowning appearance. It's because they're robots.

I find it weird that Emmet's French name contains "sain", for healthy (good in health), while Ingo's has "mal", for unwell or sick (bad in health). I know it's probably due to opposites, but it seems funny to choose the condition of their health. xD

I'm fairly certain Game Freak confirmed in a magazine that they are twins.
