So this is where I'm gonna post any custom pokemon I end up making. Comments and criticism are always welcome, but no flaming.

Okay, to start us off, we have Greagle:
greagle5.png
Greagle is a grass/steel type that lives in trees using its beak like an ax to chop through trees in search of food. Expect an evo and pre-evo soon.

Next, we have an unnamed baby anteater pokemon:
anteaterkid3.png
Not much to say here, for now he's a fire type. No name at present, so any suggestions are welcome.

Evo of the aforementioned anteater:
anteaterlvl2pt2.png
Again.. name suggestions are welcome.

Final Anteater evo:
anteaterlvl3.png

Lapras pre-evo:
babylap.png

Lickitung pre-evo:
babylik.png

Laringo, the flamingo Pokemon:
laringo1.png

Water starter (an otter, not final):
wotter.png

Flarax, a fire/flying type:
firebird.png

So.. that's about it. Lemme know what you think, folks.

No need to apologise for me(the 'jerk') since Im not sorry. It is quite terrible.. I just think the lines look 'shakey'.. if thats a word. And the folded wing looking.. like a green painted rock stuck on the side and I just think it needs mroe shape and to look more wing like... one thing.. I like the idea of the sharp beak but to me the beak looks like a hammer.. I dunno.

That sprite is actually VERY good for a first custom. My first custom was a tiny pink squid which consisted of three colors and barely any body parts. Autumn's just an idiot. And I mean that in the rudest way possible.

My only complaints are that it looks sort of wierd facing backwards, so it might be better to have its head just sticking out. Also, the beak doesn't really look like metal; try copying the way the metal on Skarmory and such shines.

I won't say it's bad. It's pretty good for a first attempt. There's just some problems of the flatness of the head. It's probably cause of the shading. The top part of the beak is too straight. Seems awkward. The shading on it is also weird. You need to work on your shading. The face isn't shaded. You need to add shading to it. The shading itself is kinda straight and aekward. I can only see two colours when sprites usually have three colours. The Legs look straight and awkward for some reason. Most probably is the colour of the outlines. The back tail is flat and weird. It doesn't seem to fit into the sprite. The right wing is messed. It shouldn't have a part of it out like that. If you shift it in, it'll be better.

It's a good attempt for a first scratch sprite. I'd say more practice and you'll be much better.

Thanks everyone, for your comments and criticism (except for Autumn). I came home today and looked at Greagle, and realized how truly sucky it is. Three looong hours and several visits to Zelionax's tutorial thread later, this is the result:
greagle4.png

I'm actually very pleased with this one.. it turned out exactly how I had pictured in my mind. Thanks again for all of ya'lls help.

They're Alright for first attempts. I dont really like the outlines they look solid black which they shouldnt be. If you look at other sprites you can see that outlines have colors and thats one of the reasons your sprites look kinda flat. The first one has color but no black, so you have to like mix the together to get better results. The first one has shading but the color difference is slight so you cant really see it that well. The second one has better shading except the belly shading looks cut off and would've looked better connected IMO. I dont really like how the light shading is dithered and the rest of the shading isnt, it looks weird IMO. You have the hang of making scratch sprites but you need to work on a couple aspects of them.

xD I'm glad my tutorial helped. This one is way better. But the head is undershaded. The part near the beak. You need to shade it. The shading on the main part of the body looks unatural. Maybe add some of the lightest shade there. The point part at the head isn't natural. If you're gonna do something like that, add a line but it's not neccessary for that pointed shading. The lightest shade seems kinda light. I like the wing for this one but it looks kinda stiff. Gotta do with the feathers there. Its'a good thing you fixed the beak shading and the legs. Just that the right one shouldn't have the back claw so long. The outline separating the head and the rest of the body looks too straight. You need to make it downwards. The hidden wing on the other side is much longer than the one we can see. Plus the position has too much of a difference. The back tail still looks unatural. It's onesided. The outlines are all black. You need different shadess for it. Also, the back tail needs more shading.

It's looking very nice. =)

Although, there are too many 00ber dark green outlines / black outlines. Fix that, and you've got a great fake there.

I've taken a bit of a beak from Greagle for a while, to work on this:
anteaterkid1.png

It's a new custom that I'm workin on.. it's intended to be an anteater, albeit a baby one. I know there's probably a lot of things wrong with it, but I kinda like it. I planned out its evos today in my design class, so stay tuned.

Oh, by the way, it doesn't have a name, so any suggestions would be welcome.

^^ I see a lot of potential in you. It's rare to find people who will seriously takie advice and improve here now of days. Keep it up ;D

Alright, some stuff you need to fix on the latest one. Get rid of the blackoutlines. Cause it looks unatural this way. You should use only some shades of black outlines while the rest of the sprite contains mainly the two other darker shades of the body colour. The lightest shade on the mouth looks weird. It's concentrated on the front part and disappears abruptly. You need to make it slowly diminish. Like more at the mouth and slowly thin it down when it gets to the forehead part. The neck should have a line or something cutting into it. It looks unatural this way. Or just shift the belly part thing inwards. The tounge doesn't seem to stick. it's like it's behind the sprite. I think it's because of the outlines of the mouth portion. The different shades aren't really obvious. You should make the colours differ a little more. I think that long thingy on its body part is the arms or something. I needs some of the lightest shade there and obvious shading of the darkest one. The line cutting in should be at the top and not the bottom. It's way too thick though. And the fingers are unatural. The belly needs to be moves in. It looks awkward this way. The other arm isn't in proportion with the one showing outside. The legs are weirdly posed. The outside one looks like it's kicking the stomach or something. Plus the lightest shade is unatural. The other leg needs a lot of work. It doesn't look like a leg. More of a triangle. Also, the hand which we don't see fully needs to be shaded. It doesn't look like it's shading. Overall, the sprite is too small and it looks flat. Plus the proportion needs work. Just do it the way you did to edit your bird thing. I'm looking forward to see something good!

The first one looks rather strange, yeah; but the second one looks awesome! If you want it a bit more in Pokémon style, some of the outlines need to be a dark shade of the main colour. If you understand that. Still awesome though.

PS. JacksKnight, you hate Autumn, don't you?
