Scratched up on the Screen or on the Cover or both?

Anyways, I have no idea about it. But I do know you can link both your DS's to your My Nintendo Account - I'm not sure about Friend Codes. But before you put those games in the new DS you should write down all of your friend codes just to make sure they don't get deleted.

*First make sure both of the DS's are on.
1. Go to your Nintendo WFC Settings on the game.
2. Choose the orange box that says Options.
3. Make sure the other DS is on and is on the Receive Mode for games.
4. Choose Transfer Nintendo WFC Configuration
5. It will then be erased off of the DS you sent it from and on your new DS.

That's why I think your better off adding the new DS to your My Nintendo Account (if you have one)

But I'm going to sell my DS and get the lite on dif. days so I won't have both of them

Who can say?
I think you'll get new codes...because when you first get the code in the game you are told WiFi treats game and DS as a set..and you must always use the same so...new DS=new code I'd say.

Well, if you want to keep all of your Wi-Fi records, friend roster, codes, wins and losses, I suggest you buy the DS Lite first, transfer the data, then sell the old DS if you want. You're going to sell one and get one either way.

I dont think you can transfer Wi-Fi data. I dont think there is a new code thing. The Wi-Fi hook up data is with the DS, but the wins, loses, friend codes are with the games I think.

Yeah, as Thrashmeister said, buy the Lite, then sell the original DS after you transfer wifi data. Or, if you sell your original first, then find a friend (irl) with a DS and no wifi, transfer your data to his, then transfer it to yours when you get the Lite. Then just delete it off his/hers.

Wi-Fi records on games are connected to Wi-Fi Connection IDs. If you play on a different ID, records are erased. So, no, you can't transfer Wi-Fi records, those are stored on the game card.

its a new code im kinda certain because it treats ds and game as a set.
Remember, though. In the Wi-Fi settings thing, it has a "transfer wifi data" option.

What is so gr8 about the DS Lite?

Well first of all it has internet access

Here are your two options:

A) Transfer Wi-Fi data from your old DS to the new one. Done. Now play your game on the DS Lite. The Transfer Wi-Fi data thing transfers your freind codes and hotspot data (where you connect to).

B) Don't do that. If you don't, it does not matter about friend codes. You may have your friend's codes, but yours has changed if you didn't transfer data. So, it will not work. You will still have all your online data such as wins/losses, favorite character, etc., etc., etc., but you will have to reconfigure your DS to your hotspot once more.

Hope I helped.

Make your old DS transfer the data!
1 turn on any wi fi game
2 touch on Wi-fi configuration
3 touch on transfer wi-fi configuration

This isnt worth making a whole topic for, so im asking here as it is relevant, how do you reconfig animal xing to a new ds?

iirc, you can use the "Transfer Wi-Fi Config." option found in the Config. Wi-Fi menu. This way it takes your saved data on the old DS and moves it towards the new one. ;x Hope that is what you were asking...
