AG 178 (454): Battle Pyramid! VS Regirock!!
Title in Kana: 「バトルピラミッド!VSレジロック!!」

Airdate: May 25, 2006

...So we're finally there, hm? And it also seems like a mere one parter. Hopefully this means that there is something after the Pyramid after all *crosses fingers*

Against Regirock?
Wow, that definitely seems promising - Especially judging from how Regirock was in the 8th movie with its attacks.

Also good to see Ash finally getting to battle in the Battle Pyramid.

So he'll really use legendary Pokemon. Great.

Is Brandon going to stumble across Regirock in the forest, only to discover it's got a thorn in it's foot? So he pulls it out and they have tea parties every weekend afternoon?
Is Regirock down on it's legendary luck and Brandon offers it a part-time job as Pyramid janitor? Perks including free capuccinos, dental plan and battle privellages...naturally.
Are Brandon and Regirock old college buddies who met during the Spring Break of '82?
Is Regirock actually Brandon's long-lost son, who was bitten by a radioactive pebble and thus turned into the Superhuman RockChunk, ready to fight the good fight?

It's come to a point where stuff like this just makes me feel like uttering a simple 'meh', rather than going postal with b!tching.
And it's Regirock, which means obvious Sceptile bait, which is good I suppose. But that also means no wonderful 6 on 6 battling or a slew of uber strong prehistoric/omnipotent despots willing to rip Pikachu a new windpipe.
But golly gee. I guess because Ash has already battled every decent pokémon out there more than once, they have no choice but to have him fight legendary pokémon now!!
MEH.

Anyone else waiting for "VS Regice" and "VS Registeel" to appear soon?
It would seem a bit lame for the final Frontier location to be just a one parter, like most of the previous Brain battles (Arena/Dome/Tube/Palace).

Still, at least they're there now, yay. No idea why I was expecting a longer wait for this, seeing as how the saga has been racing along.

I can definately imagine this final frontier to be a three-parter with all three Regis appearing in it, since I doubt they'll have a battle frontier leauge...

Didn't you used to moan that the Frontier Leaders didn't have the same teams as the game? Well they do now and yet you're still moaning?

Phantom_Bugsy

So hot he's on fire.
How can he be moaning when I hadn't even shown up in this thread yet? 8D NO MOANING UNLESS I'M HERE >0

Um. Yes. BRANDON. Hallelujah. <33 The sex. IT HAD BETTER BE GOOD.

Take that how you will.

That would be pretty cool actually. A three parter in which Ash fights all three Regi's. I imagine all three titles would have been released at once though?

I swear this better not turn into a one-on-one Pikachu vs. Regirock thing. I think I'd prefer at the very least Charizard if it has to be one-on-one.

So? That's because the majority of them have interesting pokémon we barely ever see anyone battle with.
And those are just normal pokémon, not freaking legendaries. Big difference.

Anyone else but me seeing the 'connection' between Regirock + Battle Pyramid? Something along the lines of Brandon finding Regirock in a hidden/secret chamber in a pyramid?

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
I really love Gravy's first reactions to each "new episode title" thread. There's always a hint of some hope in his disappointment when each new title is revealed, followed by wondering about the animation team and how it'll all play out in the end.

Anyway, I knew that the Pyramid title would be the next title announced. Since they're at the Pewter Gym previously, and it had been 7 episodes since the Battle Tower.

I do think we're going to see more than just Regirock, in order to play up the Pyramid's importance. Maybe each episode is going to be a one on one match between one of Ash's and the Regi's?

That's probably mean it'll be Sceptile Vs. Regirock, and you just KNOW Charizard will return for either Regice or Registeel.

Let's see how this works out, I still want the remaining Oak Pokemon to get some screentime too...

Hmm, interesting. No Regice or Registeel? Or! Maybe, like in that opening, (I can't remember which), he battles all 3? Pwns Regice and Registeel, then fights Regirock. Strangely enough, Regirock was the only one of the Regis to attack in that opening. =P *is wildly guessing*

Anywho, anybody else thinking this episode will involve Superpower -> Bullet Seed -> Superpower -> Solarbeam over and over again? >>;

I'm hoping he fights the other two regis later on. If he doesn't, prepare for a Sceptile centre stage. Meh, I don't mind what happens, give me a good battle and some popcorn and I'll settle with that. I'd like to see a uniqueness of the Pyramid, but that ain't gonna happen, is it?

I just started to wonder...I wonder if Brandon will allow say 2 or 3 against Regirock considering its a legendary. That way they can allow Regirock to be as strong as it should be, but it won't be cheapened by having say Sceptile, Pikachu, or Charizard take it out one-on-one.

Jo-Jo

blows stuff uhup
Well, this practically confirms outright that there'll be something else for Ash to do this saga after defeating Brandon.

Unless, I suppose, he's going to fight all three Regis, but every time he battles one, Brandon moves to a different location and the gang has to trek across Kanto to find him, with May's Grand Festival being slotted somewhere inbetween.

Or maybe Ash'll lose to Brandon and have the dreaded Training Period.

Mmm, nah, I'm going with the first theory. Indigo League, here we come? *crosses fingers*

Brinstar

you suffer
It's not the Regi's are Mewtwo or the beasts or birds or anything overused within the series. The Regi's had a half-assed appearence in the 8th movie and that was it. It make sense for them to be in the Pyramid, so we can get a look at 'em one last time. Of course, that's assuming all 3 are gonna show up. If it's just Regirock then poo, because I was hoping for a large scale battle.

Also, I guess this shoots down my hope for like a bunch of Ash Pokemon returning for a tournament thingy :[

That would actually be awesome, really awesome actually. They should do that. Jo-Jo you should be a Pokemon Story-line writter, you could easily pwn them with your ideas for this series. Seriously you should look into that as a career, if you're in need of a job one day *shot by anime writers*

Anyway what's with all the Non-Kanto ubers? Deoxys and Celebii, now Regirock seriously they shouldn't of located the BF in Kanto because then it raises too many points about how these legendaries got there. But then again in the games Legendaries are pretty much region located, but in the anime they seem to spread from region to region like Ho-Oh.

Hmmm there goes a possible Torkoal return.

But if he does face each Regi it will be in my opinion:

Sceptile Vs Regirock
Charizard Vs Registeel
Pikachu Vs Regice (<-- I mean who else would go up against the last Regi if Ash already used his two major ubers? Plus Ice is the only one Pikachu could stand a chance against, due to Electric being pointless against Rock and Steel >_>;;)

Wait as I was typing that the thought of Glalie crossed my mind, so Glalie might fight one of them :/ Maybe Glalie will go up against Steel since Charizard fought Articuno but the writers aren't exactly known for being fair when it comes to battle time *cough-Torkoal-ect-cough*

Hmm well at least it isn't an over-used Pokemon, Regirock's only had one appearence so this should be nice.

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
Well Ash took down an Articuno, I guess now it's Regirock's turn!

Although the other Regi's might not show up, as the other two birds didn't with Noland. Although I suppose they could and this is really a 3-parter with one Regi per episode, it'll be about the only way to set Brandon apart from the other Brains, which is why he was the super-secret final challenge for Ash before proving himself against the others.

Um....... electric does normal damage to rock and steel. It's ground that electric is useless against.

I hope Glalie, Sceptile and Kingler gets the spotlight in fighting the Regi(s).
