Replace 'salaryman' with 'office worker' if you wish. But サラリーマン actually means 'salaryman', and since that word exists in the English language, I used it

Kinda what I was thinking too...maybe a new rival for Ash? His rivals are usually temporary and towards the end of a saga these days...would be interesting for him to get a rival on his battle frontier quest.

Salarymen are usually older than 10-13 year olds, people. So I doubt it's Shuu or our good friend Gary.

O_O!! That so needs to happen.

If the rival's going to be a recurring character, he'll probably be Ash's, since May already has two and Brock and Max don't need one. If he's a one-shot, then either Ash or Brock seem the likeliest contenders.

Aw, am I the only one who thought of the Magikarp salesman?

He's one Kanto character that the writers love dearly, and has returned enough times to consider him a recurring character rather than a filler character.

But yeah, I doubt it's either Gary or Drew. Neither of them fit this description, it'll probably be a rival for just one ep too.

Sweet, maybe it'll be some middle aged business man that trains powerful Pokemon on the side. And he'll be Ash's BF rival or something. It would be a nice change from Ash's rivals always being these spunky kids...
