New FireRed team

Pollen

It buuuuuurns.
Okay, these are just the planned sets, I haven't actually made it this far yet. So there is probably definate need for improvement, and I'm open to all suggestions that does not require breeding or trading games. I also haven't decided on items yet. And I don't care about EV's or natures, so don't bother with that either.

Gengar (Male)
*Levitate
--Shadowball
--Substitute
--Thunderbolt
--Focus Punch

((I was stuck on this guy, so I stole the set from the competetive team set guide. Now, I'm a newb when it comes to a lot of this, but could someone explain to me exactly what Substitute does? I THINK I have a pretty good idea, but I want to be completely sure. A lot of people seem to suggest it for their sets, so I imagine it is a good move...))

Exeggutor (Female)
*Chlorophyll
--Sunny Day/Sleep Powder
--Solarbeam/Leech Seed
--Reflect
--Leech seed/Psychic

((I was caught between two moveset ideas for this guy, so... yeah. ALSO, when you see the Rapidash it also has a Sunny Day/Solarbeam combination, so when rating teams, please do not suggest both, as I only have the TM's for one of them.))

Rapidash (male)
*Flash Fire
--Flamethrower
--Irontail
--Sunny Day/Return
--Solarbeam/HP Fighting

((Sunny Day/Solarbeam could work for grass/rock/ground types... an interesting concept, in any case. I don't know how well it would work though.))

Kabutops (Male)
*Battle Armor
--Rockslide
--Surf
--Slash
--Swords Dance

Zapdos
*Pressure
--Tbolt
--Twave
--Drill Peck
--?

((Dunno what to put in the last slot.))

I need a sixth pokemon. Any ideas are welcome, but please, nothing that requires trading from any other cartridge.

So, yeah. That's all.

Substitute helps you set up Focus Punch, also protects you from moves like willowisp and t-wave, takes damage for you.

He said he doesn't want to trade, which means he can only have one Substitute. And getting the right HP is nearly impossible in-game.

You lack a pokemon that can absorb damage, and a pokemon that relies on physical moves. So a Snorlax would be a nice addition to your team.

Thanks, both of you.

Also, I'm not ditching any of these guys. This is a team of favorites, for the most part. So please work around them.

And I can't get Umbreon, because A) I used up my Eevee early on, and B) there is no night/day in FireRed. So please, only pokemon that I can get ingame.

And what would be a good moveset for Snorlax? I was actually considering him before, but I really wasn't sure if he'd be any good for my team.
