Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.

But that's just it, they've already left damn near everything important from the final game in here.
Move tutors
Egg moves
Artwork
Hoopa's form
Mega evolution base stats
Ect.

Mega evolutions is one of the last things you remove from your demo when like 85% of the full game is still there.

And why did they need to remove stuff, and take the risk to corrupt the demo and delay its release, if said data is just "junk data" not normally accessible?

They most likely didn't remove these things because they had no reason to further complicate things just because of a minority of people who have found a way to hack the systems. Besides, the only new thing is Hoopa. Most Move Tutors and things are from previous games or revealed info, so hardly "new", and it's likely that the demo is a sort of "more polished beta". Probably they're finishing to program the rest of the data on the final games before starting the mass production.

Don't take the demo as your ultimate proof, because it's hardly "ultimate".

All this is really boiling down to is "Look at all the data in the demo, there aren't any more Megas" vs. "Think of all the data they might not have put into the demo, there are more Megas". Both of these arguments are essentially meaningless.

Simply because there happens to be a full data on many Pokémon(all of which, bar Soopa Hoopa, we've already known about) holds no bearing on whether or not there are to be more Mega Evolutions in the final version. "Well this already looks like it's the final version." That doesn't mean much either. This is a demo that is likely just a final version of the game segregated into this small mission. Yes, this game would be fully playable at the moment but that doesn't mean that they haven't removed some data for the purpose of the demo. "Well why would they do that?" Well we do have the interview that took place right before the reveal of M-Pidgeot and M-Beedrill that states that GF does want there to be M-Pokémon in the game that weren't spoiled prior to its release. Obviously, GF plans out what they reveal and when, they would have to be daft to expect the demo not to be data mined like their titles already have been in the past. What do you do with data that you don't want to be hacked into and revealed from your demo? You remove it from the demo's code and retain it in the final version. Whether the statement made in the interview holds true or not remains to be seen.

The only thing the "pro-hidden mega" argument has to stand on is wishful thinking and the interview. Which, honestly, the interview is fairly substantial to suggest that there may be more M-Pokémon in the final version. But again, it remains to be seen whether the truth was told in that interview. Though, GF lying to their fanbase when they know what's going into their spoilers and demos seems a little stupid.

Basically, we don't know and neither side is correct here. We'll have to wait until release to actually know. Though, that interview does cause me to lean towards the possibility that there may be more M-Pokémon in the actual release version.

Thank you for that above comment silver! Very well said. I'm going to be opptomistic for new megas, but I won't be crushed if there isn't. I understand the argument can go either way.

My personal theory, which people can take with a grain of salt cause I don't know anything about coding, is that the demo is missing some information. I'd imagine they'd have towork on the demo a couple of months before its release, at least, if not more and they would take whatever version of the game was ready at the time. So, not quite complete, but almost. We are still missing some kind of battle resort info. Maybe more megas, maybe not. I don't know why they would take out new megas in case of dataminers and still leave in soopa hoops though. I do find it kind of amusing when so many people said they were done with megas and now so many upset that we might only get the ones revealed. As a group we can't make up our minds XD.

Exactly :)

I always thought that the number of megas would match X&Y, which had 28 I believe. The current total for OR/AS is 20 (22 with primal). I'm counting the latwins as part of the new games as they've been revealed as such.
So still hopeful for 6/8 more but I'm doubting that hope, the unfortunate thing with the data hack is that it conflicts with recent interviews mentioned in previous posts.
As ever with a game series loved and adored as this, your never going to please everyone so time to focus on the good things we know, M-slowbro :)

Can someone explain to me why the mega slowbro hate has suddenly disappeared? Weeks ago I was sticking up for him and people didn't think he'd go anywhere without regenerator and now everyone is talking ubers o_O

He was one of my fav megas this game, just cause gen 2 was a favourite and I always picked up a slowpoke in the well. I was a sentimental kid and as a child, I thought I had to save the slowpokes by catching them all.

Cannot speak for everyone else but I ❤️ M-slowbro! I've got 2 wonderfully bred slowbros ready as soon as I saw the reveal. One 6iv and one with 0iv in speed.

I think it had something to do with its stats being leaked.

His base defense got +50 and sp.atk got +30.

People usually hate on things like M-Slowbro for the design. Then when the stats are leaked and they're actually good a large percentage of those people tend to shut their mouths.

Speaking of favorite new Megas, I'm going to have to say that I like M-Lopunny, Altaria, and Beedrill the best so far. Excluding Starters and Legendaries.

I agree with you here.
When I first saw MegaLopunny, Altaria, and Beedrill, I thought that they were not the best concepts. But now that I know more about them, I think that they are great ideas.
In my opinion, they have pretty good (at least) stats (although that defense on MegaBeedrill), and their abilities compliment them quite well.
Of course the starters and legendaries are good in my opinion as well. I especially cannot wait to use MegaSwampert.

Like many other ORAS Mega Evolutions Slowbro got boosts just where it needed it. 70+ Defence really makes it formidable. With the rest going to Sp. Attack, which is far from a waste. Shell Armour will still probably be less useful than Regenerator would have been, but there is no doubt that Mega Slowbro will be extremely viable.

The initial response to its design was pretty bad. However as time goes on it usually grows on people or they don't bother to comment about it. (I personally still think Mega Slowbro is the worst looking Mega Evolution from ORAS but it's not something I need to proclaim all the time).

Reading the arguments over the data retrieved from the hacks is funny. If you think anything else will be added, fine. If you don't, that's still fine. We will find out in November.

Personally, I don't mind not having additional megas added. The amount of hype they could create with a Mega Milotic or Mega Flygon in the future would be great. The collective "FINALLY!" would be enough to help GF have a few more units pre-ordered. I'm also glad no additional legendary megas were revealed... barring Hoopa, I guess, but that still looks like a form to me.

It is a form. It requires a Key Item to change, the same as the Theirans and Shaymin.

Seems to be a lot of conflict of opinions here since the data hack! If there's more Mega evos then great if not then that's fine too. Since it's release mega evo is extremely popular and here to stay so if your fav type, gen or pokemon aren't on the list don't fret it will happen in a later game!
Mega Jynx is my main hope and I'm happy to wait for it, won't change my opinion of OR/AS if it's not there, still going to be a lot of fun.

Exactly. :)
If the 4 other megas I would like to see don't happen in ORAS, I won't complain. There's always XY2/Z (if those do end up happening).

It was the design, I think.
I agree when it's stats came out, everyone who was complaining about it suddenly loved it.

I agree, I'm not a fan of it either. It has yet to grow on me, at all. XD

So I guess That's it for the Mega Discussion then since it's already been stated that's all there is in the data.

NO MEGA MILOTIC/FLYGON PEOPLE. At least in this game.

Arguments over # Megas Being Final Are Now Banned

These arguments have been all consuming, frustrating, annoying and just tiring at this rate. We are putting a ban on them as of now. Anyone who continues this argument will be infracted and the posts probably deleted.

There is more than enough confirmed information to talk about without whining/arguing/whatever about if the demo is end all be all

e: And despite us phrasing it as an "argument" do not be cute and offer it as a statement or comment

Of all the megas revealed, design wise, the ones i don't like much are only camerupt and glalie. camerupt i'll have to see it in motion because it looks like it can't move it's legs at all. it looks stuck with all that fur. Glalie's problem to me is just that it's jaw is detached. That is awfull and would make biting moves impossible to use. Most of the new megas i'm just ok with them but a few of them are trully awesome. besides the amazing mega rayquaza, beedrill, pidgeot, gallade and lopunny look fenomenal. The 1st 2 get slight changes, with pidgeot getting almost none but it works so well. with gallade there's only 1 word: cape! it makes the mega for me. And my personal favorite, lopunny, looks even stronger than b4, being able to hit ghosts and looking like a proper figther while remaining it's cuteness. I love it!

It would be hilarious if there was some side effect like like biting moves losing 50% power or something orz.
I agree with Lopunny, Rayquaza, and Pideot looking amazing.
I like Salamence, but its wings still kind of bug me a bit; still reminds me of a cousin of the Lati Twins, lol.

My opinions.. as an artist.

Sceptile: Perfect
Swampert: Too round. Like the large macho concept but they could've pulled that off without it being so spherical
Beedrill: Love the bottom portion shape, the wings and the lance transformations.. could've kept its original legs as it now looks like it can't stand anymore. Don't like those long eyes one bit.
Pidgeot: Not a bad design but looks like a fusion of Staraptor, Pidgeot and Braviary.. Was the Red White and Blue really relevant??
Slowbro: Possibly the most criticized of all Megas, I like the idea but can't get used to it balancing on its tail.. What is this, a top?
Steelix: No No No.. Steelix's simple but threatening original design was flawless.. now it looks like it is an extraterrestrial thing. Looks like something a child would think of.
Sableye: Giant Gem. Sableye had so much potential. It's lost now. Boring... nexxxxt.
Sharpedo: Its "scars" look more like stripes: too even in number, too perfect in shape. Could have been more random. Its jaw.. looks like a zombie's. Ehh design.
Camerupt: Saw this one mount design coming.. The "M" on its forehead screams Team Magma to me. Don't like that. Might as well add an "S" scar on Sharpedo. -__-
Altaria: Decent, could have been better. Don't like the cloud on its head.
Glalie: I hope its jaw can close. If not, it just looks like some sort of spiky nut split in half.
Salamence: Yes Yes Yes. Wasn't a fan of Salamence's original design but this is awesome.
Metagross: Perfect. Didn't complicate it too much, but added just enough to make it 3 times better.
Rayquaza: Like the tusk additions. Don't like the the orange things trailing from it. Too distracting. Can't appreciate its solid shape.
Lopunny: Lopunny was one of the Pokemon designs I always hated (just as much as Kricketune). This is a great improvement; actually like it.
Gallade: Another Pokemon whose design I really disliked. I like the cape addition. An improvement.
Audino: Looks like Audino unless I put it next to a picture of Audino. Audino is one of those simple designs I can never describe if asked to.
