New NB Team

Bittersweet

Beginning Trainer
Well I sorta got tired of my baton passing team *cough* suicune, weezing, skarmory *cough cough* so I decided to try this. Since I wasn't completely willing to give up BPing as I find it a good way to give stats that some awesome pokes are lacking to them.

Ninjask ** Ninja! @starf berry
EVs: 6 hp/252 atk/252 speed
Speed Boost
Naiive Nature (- sp def, + spd)

Baton Pass
Silver Wind
Substitute
Swords Dance

Rather obvious, but still is very effective at what it does. If it gets roared/hazed/whatever the majority of my team can survive without the boost, except blaziken and sometimes breloom, which is probably the only reason I have Ninjask. Naiive nature is to make the most of the speed boost and the starf berry is simply because I'm an idiot who relies on luck :p

Milotic ** ... @leftovers
Marvel Scale
EVs: 28 hp/252 def/34 sp atk/196 sp def
Bold Nature (-atk, + def)

Ice Beam
Mirror Coat
Recover
Surf

It may look odd, but there are so many people who fall for the bait. With some simple prediction, you can switch this in on most sp. atk that isn't super effective against it. For example, lets say I have my breloom (below) out and the opponent switches to a gengar which obviously will use psychic. I switch to a milotic, the gengar uses psychic, which honestly only takes out about 50 hp. If they actually fall for the bait and rush milotic with thunderbolt, then they promptly get mirror coated and it's usually a one hit KO. Bold Nature is to survive some attacks and be able to hit right back. Recover is for staying power.

Altaria ** WTFCLOUDS @leftovers
EVs: 252 hp/174 def/84 sp def
Natural Cure
Calm Nature (- atk, + sp def)

Rest
Roar
Safegaurd
Toxic

Altaria is a utility and statuser. She also eats statuses by takes natural cure to her advantage. Safegaurd is basically team support and toxic is about the only thing I would get her to do offensive-wise. She can usually survive most attacks she gets while switching in.

Breloom ** Brelo @leftovers
EVs: 228 atk/252 spd/30 sp def
Effect Spore
Adamant Nature (+atk, -sp atk)

Focus Punch
Mach Punch
Sky Uppercut
Spore

Yea I know, no moves that affect ghosts. Thats what switching in to Tyranitar is for when they use psychic. Mach Punch is utter fun against those darn reversal/flail-ers.

Tyranitar ** Tyranisaur @leftovers
252 atk/252 sp atk/6 def
Sand Stream
Quiet Nature (-spd, + sp atk)

Crunch
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Rock Slide

Double STAB is good, and ice beam always rather funny against salamence and with good coverage. Earthquake doesn't need to be explained. It might seem like a bad idea making Tyranitar a mixed sweeper, but the Ninjask speed boost takes care of most of the problems.

Blaziken ** Grrr-er @leftovers
Blaze
122 atk/136 spd/252 sp atk
Hasty Nature (-def, +spd)

Flamethrower
HP Ice
Sky Uppercut
Thunderpunch

Gets killed REALLY easily but deals a ton of damage, and is practically untouchable with BP boost, but is usually killed by most waters. Thunderpunch only takes around 35% out of vaporeon, and then they proceed to surf and Blaziken's dead.

So uh, that's my new NB team! Whoo.

Master Breeder
max HP on milotic before defense, especially since you're using mirror coat.

breloom wants HP Rock.

physical blaziken > special blaziken, IMO. SD/RS/sky uppercut/overheat

- Hidden Power [Rock/Flying/Ground/Ghost]

- Substitute

Well I'm not lying when I say they'll use psychic. And the only other thing I see gengars using against my breloom is ice beam, which doesn't do much damage against Tyranitar and even less to milotic, my usual switch ins. As for breloom's moves, they do come in handy. Mach Punch is for reversalers, Sky Uppercut is for that in between stuff, Focus Punch is for whenever you can use it. And since breloom is usually too slow to attack most of it's counters, why even bother giving it moves that will be super effective against them? That's what switching out is for. DragonDance, I see where you're going with the EVs, but I don't really like Fire Blast. Yea, I know. 180 base power with STAB, but flamethrower has around 140 base power with STAB. I really don't like the accuracy on Fire Blast but I guess I can try it out.

1) standard gengar doesn't have psychic, so the people you are playing are more then likely at a low skill level

2) gengar doesn't learn ice beam, more like ice punch

3) gengar / salamence is the most common switch into breloom, giving breloom hp rock or hp ghost tp hit these pokemon on the switch works so well, and is a lot better then doing next to nothing, and being forced to switch out without doing anything to them.

EDIT: just use Jolly nature on Ninjask, it has no special attacks and lowering that is better then lowering it's SDef for no reason

Who switches Gengar into Breloom when they know they'll get Spored? And why the hell do you need a priority move when you have Tyranitar? Focus Punch and Sky Uppercut in the same moveset is just lol.

yeah it's not like the standard uses sky uppercut and focus punch in the same moveset

/sarcasm

do you really want a breloom to be beaten Tyranitar because it can't hit it without Focus Punch. Standard / most common 'Loom is

~ Sky Uppercut / Mach Punch
~ Spore
~ Focus Punch
~ HP Rock / HP Ghost

then there's CB Breloom which is pretty effective

Right. because ttar can switch in on sky uppercut much easier than focus punch

EDIT: [/sarcasm]

lol, why the **** would you switch tyranitar into breloom, that's like a white guy going into compton.

if Breloom and Tar are out at THE SAME TIME, Breloom can't do **** to Tyranitar if another pokemon is already asleep, which is likely. What will you do HP Ghost it down? Or just keep trying to Focus Punch while it keeps Earthquaking for the KO

STAB Sky Uppercut from 394 Attack OHKOs Max HP Max Def Tyranitar.

Also I believe it was you who suggested that Tyranitar can't be beaten withou Focus Punch. What will you do HP Ghost it down? Or just keep trying to Focus Punch while it keeps Earthquaking for the KO?

yes but according to you Sky Uppercut and Focus Punch in the same moveset is lol, therefore you have no Sky Uppercut; therefore you lose to Tyranitar

Why do I lose Sky Uppercut? I prefer it over Focus Punch.

Hi, my name is prediction and when I work, I make people use STAB Focus Punches on pokemon that are going to switch in and either:
a) Destroy them
b) Almost destroy them

Of course when I fail/am used by people who suck, I make Focus Punch useless unless:
a) I somehow make people used Substitute which required me, prediction, to work;
b) The opponent is asleep
c) The opponent is paralysed and people parahax him

Uh, yea. You're right nooblet, it's ice punch, lol. I would like to replace Mach Punch with a hidden power, but then I would be lacking a quick attacker/mach puncher which I need. I'm thinking of ditching altaria for something else that learns quick attack/mach punch with decent attack and also able to serve a similar role as Altaria did to my team. Any suggestions?

aipomkong

you don't need a quick attacker

- ninjask is faster then most pokemon after a salac boost
- tyranitar's sandstream stops reversallers
