New Pikachu Short

A New Pikachu Short has been revealed to be aired on the ANA flights again this August

It is called Pikachu's Mischievous Island. Below is a plot summary that Itranslated, however I am not sure how good it is so Dogasu or someone can ya have a look:

In the summer, Pikachu & Co. are on an island where there is a playground that they enjoy spending time in. However Meowth is also on the island and has a plot against the other Pokémon, however in doing so he draws out Wynaut and takes the Playground. Pikachu and the other Pokémon including newcomers Buizeru & Perappu have to take the playground back from Meowth.

Umm the movies dont have shots joined...they havent since the 7th...the shorts have always been completely seperate and only aired on the ANA flights in august, then released seperately on DVD in June of the next year

I've grown really fond of Buoysel lately, so I'm glad to see it's not going to end up as a one-off in the upcoming movie. Same goes for Perap. They're two of the most interesting pokémon yet, with some pretty unique quirks on hand, so having them take part in fun little distractions such as this is pretty nice. Hopefully said quirks will use the comedy potential they weild, especially in Perap's case~

The seemingly random inclusion of Exploud gets a thumbs up too. For such an awesome creature, it sure doesn't get the attention it deserves. Wynaut is also a plus.

Is someone going to catch a Buizeru and Perappu or something? Because they are shown again in this short, I know that it's a short with the the 9th Movie, but still.

Heh, none of Brock's Pokemon are in this short apparently. Is this yet another hint that he's going to be put out of his misery shortly?

Anyways, regarding the absence of Brock's pokémon; I wouldn't read into it too much, if at all. They rarely get any part in these specials anyway, so it's no surprise to see them awol from this piece of promo art. And there's also the fact that, for previous shorts, some pokémon weren't seen in such artwork, yet made it into the final cut anyway. I think Corphish is a pretty decent example.

True, but at the very least, you'd at least expect Bonsly to be jumping around with those Pokemon, being the D/P promotion it is and all.

I'm sure in the end Brock's Pokemon may be in this anyway, but to not see *at least* Bonsly being promoted is extremely telling.

Remember, May and etc. wasn't shown in the first news of Mastermind of Mirage but they were still there.

Hmmm.

It seems to me that the shorts could be used in a better way. I'd like it if they could be used to debut more Pokémon. They always seem to cram in only whom have been released thus far and then we get the rest when the games come along.

Make people want to catch the short by throwing in an all-new character.

From the description, it sounds like a fun little short in the same vein as Pikachu's Vacation. The plot actually sounds extremely funny; I love it that a Pokemon like Meowth, who is always thinking about world domination, gets such joy from taking a little playground away from Pikachu, Munchlax, and the gang. This thing has overwhelming potential for comedy already.

And yeah, Exploud, Wynaut, Buizeru, and Perappu are cool and all, but I'd really like to see more of the gang's Pokemon that we already know and love. The only thing that I dislike about the Pikachu shorts is that most of the time, aside from Pikachu, the only other Pokemon that get showcased are filler/new generation Pokemon. I know that we don't know who all will be in this yet, but I'd really like a short with just the gang's Pokemon, as crazy as it sounds.

Maybe Bonsly evolved (subsequently killing all, if any, marketing potential) hence it not being in the short because, you know, only little baby Pokemon can be in them.

so this is essentially another short we won't get to see,

which is a shame since i enjoy the shorts, sure they may have a lame story of pokemon working together but its nice to see pokemon without the trainers.
