I've been replaying Platinum lately and have finally decided that I need some help with my movesets. I already have this team ready and am in mid-game, so I won't be using egg moves. The biggest thing that I need help with is Shadow Ball. There is only one TM available before the Battle Frontier and I'm not sure who will need it worse before then, Roserade or Glaceon.

<- Best Pokémon Ever
Infernape: Fire Punch / Flamethrower > Stone Edge cuz Flare Blitz is too risky at times and you already have flying protection from Thunderpunch (and now you can use Stone Edge on Gliscor).
Staraptor: I get the fact that you want STAB for Normal but unless you have full or near full happiness, Return is not too good. Plus Normal STAB probably does less damage than a Fighting Super Effective move. Maybe use Roost or U-Turn or Aerial Ace instead.
Roserade: Energy Ball > Petal Dance. Leech Seed > Weather Ball + Toxic Spikes.
Floatzel: Again why do you like Return so much? No reason to have it especially since he is a Water type. Replace it with Dig / Iron Tail / Aqua Tail.
Glaceon: Really good, but Shadow Ball is more important for Roserade (to counter its Psychic weakness) than on Glaceon. So the only thing I can think of as a replacement would be Blizzard or Toxic because
of Glaceons limited moveset.
Gliscor: Use Night Slash for the last move.

For Gliscor, I would use Earthquake, Aerial Ace, Thunder Fang, and Fire Fang. Earthquake + Aerial Ace for STAB, Thunder Fang for coverage against water types, and fire fang for ice types. I'm not really familiar with using the others, but I would follow zwgiantsfan's suggestions for them.

The only other thing I can say is that I love the name of your Glaceon (OKAMI REFERENCE FTW).

It'd be pointless to have both Flare Blitz and Fire Punch/Flamethrower on Infernape; same with Brave Bird and Aerial Ace on Staraptor, Waterfall and Aqua Tail on Floatzel, and Ice Beam and Blizzard on Glaceon. As for Return, it is the single most reliable Normal-type move that there is. My Staravia is already at full happiness and going on delightful murderous rampages with Return. As for Floatzel, Return is an overall better choice than the other ones you suggested. Aqua Tail would be pointless alongside Waterfall; Iron Tail only hits Ice and Rock types super-effectively, neither of which would give Floatzel other problems; Dig would be the next best choice, but Return is better overall. The combination of Water (Waterfall) and Normal (Return) can hit every single Pokemon for at least neutral damage except for Empoleon. It's one of the best move type combinations in the game, right up with QuakeEdge.

It would seem like Aerial Ace would be a logical move for Gliscor, but honestly Flying-type STAB doesn't cover much with Gliscor. Water and Ice are the only ones who give him real problems, which can be covered by Thunder Fang and Stone Edge and/or Fire Fang.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to notice the reference. I was originally going to name him Oki, but I wound up going with Kutone for more originality :3

*fp* Why would you want to compare a normal STAB to a SE Fighting move? It... doesn't make sense. Roost is kind of useless on Staraptor; he's best off going out and dealing as much damage as he can.

I would go U Turn > Steel Wing though, because Steel Wing is outclassed by Close Combat every time (hits Ice and Rock for SE damage plus two more types, more base power).

As for the Stone Edge, give it to Infernape. If you still want a Rock move on Gliscor, you can use Rock Slide on him.

Gliscor @ Muscle Band
Jolly | Hyper Cutter
• Swords Dance
• Earthquake
• Rock Slide
• Fire Fang

I would run this set for Gliscor. His bulk allows him to go dancing for a few turns, which can compensate for Rock Slide's lesser base power. Fire Fang allows you to hit Levitating Bronzong who otherwise walls this set, but Ice Fang could also work for Ice + Ground combo (I believe it hits more Pokemon for SE damage).

Thanks for the suggestions. I realized afterwards that Steel Wing's coverage would be useless alongside Close Combat. I'll probably use U-Turn or even just Fly, as I can't see myself using U-Turn much. And I'd completely forgotten about Rock Slide, so I'll do that. Gliscor's bulk should definitely make Swords Dance a possibility (the only other Sword Dance Pokemon I've used was a Leavanny and that was always hit-or-miss), so I'll give that a try.

As for Shadow Ball. I think it's fine to let Glaceon have it pre E4. Roserade is weak to psychic, the only E4 type Shadow Ball is usefull against. Glaceon doesn't have that problem.

Son of a Beach
That does make sense, Shadow Ball gives Roserade coverage against its Psychic weakness, but it's not exactly difficult to switch out and use someone else like Floatzel or Glaceon.

A DRUM, A DRUM!...
Your team's perfectly fine.

brick break > return is an option for floatzel.
You get more super effective hits plus, you get neutral coverage just as good (i'm pretty sure) as when you had return

Give Shadow Ball to Roserade imo. It lacks some good Attacking moves.

I second BB on Float. You get nearly unresisted coverage when combined with Crunch.

Energy Ball > Petal Dance for the extra power on Roserade imo.

So does Glaceon though. Both pogey have limited movepool.

Energy Ball has lower base power :p

Eh , but Glaceon at has Ice Beam , Signal Beam and Water Pulse ; all of which provide enough coverage imo.

I forgot that in 4th Gen. PD went from 70 to 90 Power :p

So basically the picture I'm getting is that I should use Brick Break on Floatzel and Shadow Ball on Roserade. That makes sense; if I gave Shadow Ball to Glaceon right from the start, it would have four reliable attacking moves while Roserade would only have two. Alright, my decision is made!
