On the back of Leon's Cape, I see what might be the regional early bird (its brown with white cheeks). Looks kinda like a house sparrow Pokémon.

Edit: it has a peafowl looking crest. Could we finally be getting our peacock?
I think it’s a Corviknight pre evolution. Look closer at the design, it looks like it’s holding something. And given that these are all sponsors, it could be the logo for the Galar Taxi Company

I think the most jarring thing for me, new Pokemon-wise, is the fact that Duraludon is stated to "share their habitat with Tyranitar, and these two Pokémon are often seen battling each other in the mountains of the Galar region," which is some pretty nice lore... except they also made Tyrannitar version-exclusive to Shield, and so within Sword it simply doesn't make sense.

Maybe Duraludon is exclusive to Shield too.

I still haven't decided what starter I like the most but you bet your bottom dollar that I'll be putting Rolycoly on my team. I love it so much.

I like the other Pokemon from the trailer but Rolycoly was the real stand-out for me.

I really hope Rolycoly becomes a decently speedy Rock/Fire type. Or at least capable of actually using its ability (unlike Pallossand for example).

I'd be so on board for that! Fire/Rock would be a really cool, not to mention we only have one Pokemon currently using that typing (Magcargo). It would be nice to see more interesting combinations like that.

Keep in mind its not like version exclusive pokemon don't exist in their counterpart game (hence why you'll fight trainers who have them regardless), they just aren't catchable for game mechanic reasons rather than lore reasons.

Duraludon looks like a Steel Gigalith to me. I can't not see it.

Rolycoly makes me wonder if we will get a "Train" pokemon.

Alcremie and it's Giant birthday Cake form are definitely the best of this batch though.

The seagull is rumored to dive in and catch a Pikachu to throw its enemies, so its mouth is either the equal size of Pelipper's if not bigger. They'll resemble each other a lot. Can't see any reason Pelipper out of all Pokémon to make it as the mascot of a Galar Corporate.
While its design is somewhat stylized for that logo, I really hope a new Pokémon wouldn't look THAT similar to Pelipper: same bill, same two little feet sticking out the back, same wings that split into exactly three blue "digits." Slurpuff was the mascot of Alola's malasada shops despite not being in the Alola Dex, so I don't think these logos necessarily have to be Gen VIII Pokémon. I'm not doubting that Pokémon's existence, I just don't think it's what we're seeing in that particular logo on Leon's cape.

So, now that we have a few more reveals, who are we having on our teams?
I'm stuck between grookey and scor bunny as my starter, and I'm usually a water type kinda girl, so hmm..
Scor bunny/grookey depending on final forms
Corviknight
Drednaw
Yamper
Wooloo(for the cute factor)
Rolycoly-depended on evo and when in game I get them
I'm really looking forward to the camping aspect of the game, making curry for ev training and I hope there will be an amie bit, wanna pet yamper soooo bad!

Duraludon has an interesting design, but I am hoping that it is not the pseudo legendary line for this generation. It has Noivern vibes for me, a victory road Pokemon where you have to breed to get the pre-evo. Going against that is this new strongest steel move ever...

Anyone have any speculation on just what Duralodon is based on? It's clearly based on something specific (the hollow insides, the red extension behind its head), mechanical or technological, and I feel as if I've seen it before, but I can't for the life of me think of what it is, nor have I seen anyone else guess.

Mecha Godzilla. It's the natural enemy of Tyranitar, which is based on regular Godzilla.

It really doesn't look like any version of mechagodzilla that I've seen though, beyond being metallic. To me it seems modeled after something man made that exists in the real world.

With CoroCoro leaking in a few days, what new Pokémon do you think we may see or be confirmed? I am hoping that impedimp will be officially confirmed and maybe find out what the elephant Pokémon may be from the hint in the Japanese trailer from Monday. I also would not mind seeing one of the two bird Pokémon that was hinted at on the back of Leon’s cape.

I feel like Rock/Fire would be a bad type for Rolycoly because if it does keep it's ability, a water move would most likely one shot it so it can't even use it.

I agree with you on that. It would give him a double weakness and that wouldn't be good in terms of any real battling.
