New Super Mario Bros 2 (3DS)

Eternal Darkness

Eternal Evil
I need a completely honest opinion: Is the game worth a $40 price tag? Or am I better off purchasing Super Mario 3D Land?

...Basically, which one is better?

Super Mario 3D Land

16 worlds compared to 8, and it takes longer to complete.

Plus, it probably wasn't put together in 18 months or less.

Seconded.

There's far more of a variety, too. It's undoubtedly the one you should go for.

OK, thanks guys. I'll be picking up 3D Land soon. I'll look for NSMB2 in the future if there's a deal/price drop (unlikely).

Deals - Yes. I got Galaxy 2 at $39.99 at target because of a temporary sale. plus I think New egg has an offer of a pre-order of $29.99

I love SMB3 so I'll be definitely picking up the new game.

Is Paper Mario 3DS available yet?

I don't see much variety in doubling the amount of worlds by editing the original world slightly.
I haven't played NSMB2 yet, obviously, so I don't know which is better.

I thought 3d Land was boring, because I grew up with 2d platforming and that is my favourite so that is probably why. Wonder if it is worth to preorder

I take it you're not a fan of Galaxy's Prankster Comets either, then? I disagree, adding in challenges to the normal stages are a great way to extend replay value.

With the US release closing in, hype for this game is crazier than ever. A great sequel to a great game. The original was one of the top selling Nintendo DS games, and I absolutely can't wait for this game!

Yeah. Right now I would be replaying the game, except I lost it a few few years ago...

I cant get to excited, apparently it isnt as good as it could have been.

P.S when we use blue font its usually to indicate sarcasm, just a heads up.

Glad you like it. A lot of us aren't excited to play a game that plays like every 2D Mario game in the last 6 years. Why should I get this when I can get a similar experiece with New Super Mario Bros. on the DS or New Super Mario Bros. Wii?

And yeah, I lost my copy of NSMB as well, but I have no intention to get it back, not when I could play a more unique and fun Mario game like Galaxy or 3D Land.

First I've heard of that. And I've been on this forum for four years, so that's saying something.

Paper Mario 3DS comes out this Holiday. I already pre ordered it and I am really excited for it. I know I am in the minority but I actually like the Paper Mario games more than the main series/New Super Mario Bros./Kart/etc with the best one being TTYD. Hopefully Sticker Star does well.

I also really enjoy the paper mario games, though I don't think they are better than all the other mario games they are up there with the best.

brb playing Coin Rush.

The GameCube controllers are very impressive, but I have to ask, why not Wii remotes instead?
