New Trainer types in DP

It seems that with every subsequent pokemon RPG, new types of trainers are added or removed. While some basic trainers seem to be everywhere(camper, bug catcher, youngster, beauty, lass, hiker, swimmer etc.) Some are a bit more rare eg. (engineer, dragon tamer, expert etc).

In DP, which trainer types do you want to keep/remove, and what new types of trainers do you want to see.

Personally, I would like the addition of serveral new types of trainers.

Methinks journeyers, professors, and botanists would make good additions.

Journeyers would tend to use more outlandish Pokemon, perhaps even Pokemon from other regions. If that is too unorthodox for your tastes (but regardless of that matter), they would have a tendency to carry Pokemon that evolve by trade.

Professors would primarily employ Normal and Psychic types in their arsenal, but with a greater emphasis on Normal types.

Botanists would use Grass types and Water types in their teams. Ludicolo, Belossom, Azumarill, and their ilk would be especially common among these kind of trainers.

Professors were in R/B/Y/G/S/C/FR/LG, I believe. And Experts were pretty common in Emerald. Ruin Maniacs are rare.

I'll try to get some I made up from the thread I made about half a year ago. It's dead, so I'll bring loads of ideas here.

I sure don't remember any. o_O;

How about Paleontologists that carry around Pokemon resurrected from fossils?

I may be wrong, but they were TR scientists. If they weren't professors, they were either scientists or researchers,

I'd like to see (it might sound wierd) but Gamers.

Thier sprites would be a 15/16 year old boy/girl waering sunglasses playing a GBASP. They would be some of the best trainers in the game (think Cooltrainers) with a wide variety of Pokemon types but always seem to havean electric type with them.

Oh, I was referring to the ilk of professors that would be associated with universities. :p

And above poster, I'm fairly sure the Gamblers now are Gamers. They'd need to be called something different.

yep, you're right... I didn't really like that change

"I'm a rambling gaming dude" doesn't have the same ring as "I'm a rambling gambiling dude" :\

anyway, I'd like to see... get this... robot trainers

they would be trainer robots designed to simulate real trainers (somewhat)

they have robot-like pokemon and such... and be named after Greek letters, much like the E-series from the sonic games...

I always thought guest trainers (and for that matter, legit bosses) would be a cool addition. And I'm not talking finding Red in GSC, or even really finding old gym leaders from Kanto or what have you roaming the new region (though running into ex-TR members would rock). I'm thinking some more like Culex in Mario RPG. You find a secret room in one area of the game, and there's the games staff, this time as trainers. Or you run into a cameo of some girl calling herself Samus, with a buttload of weird Pokemon at her disposal. And in the realm of bosses, I really wanna see things that you fight that aren't Pokemon and aren't catchable, but still actually fight. Like you go into a lab, and have to fight this massive machine and send out two Pokemon to take it down. Or, oh no, you've ticked off the spirit of some dead person who fights you in a 1v1. Like an extension of the ghosts before you got the lens in RBY.

Dominatrix... *Shot* :p

And I like Eszett's ideas. Professor is kind of overdue, but maybe Scientists double as Professors. Still... it'd be good to see a few guys of science that aren't affiliated with evil organizations...

Botanist sounds cool too. :D

How about Scholar? :D

...That's a fun idea. XD They could have Pokémon with TM moves and egg moves unlike most trainers, too, since they know so much about the game of course. Kind of like Battle Tower lite!

I would like to see another water type person. Maybe a water trainer designated to be on land, and the swimsuit does not be needed, normal cloths are fine (as long as there blueish or something, not black)

SUBRICK

Hypnotize...
I'd love to see Gym Leader Assistant.
Other than that, most of my ideas have already been posted here. :p

I think cowboys, farmers, clowns, firefighters, and rappers might make a good addition based on the fact that they never had these types of trainers before (except that cowboys were called 'riders' in Colosseum/XD).

If there were to be cowboys, I think the variety of Pokémon would be very limited, because horses are most often associated with cowboys, and there's only Ponyta/Rapidash. But they could always just give them whatever like that rider from XD who has Beautiflies and Dustoxes. Or they could just make very few of these trainers. :p

Farmers would normally carry farm animal-based Pokémon with them, such as Miltank, and Torchic if they allow it (I find that very few trainers have starter Pokémon). If you disagree with the idea of trainers owning Pokémon based on species, then I suppose any normal or ground type could work with farmers.

Clowns would have very colourful Pokémon.

Firefighters would have anything that beats fire. They should have more ground types than water, though, because there's too many water types and water type trainers (swimmers, fishermen, tube kids, some sailors, and sis & bros)

Rappers was just a random idea I had, and I know that it's very likely that there won't be any. But, just for fun, they would have steel types and/or very 'cool' (quotations are used because coolness is an opinionated matter) Pokémon.

perhaps:
Pyroman-fire
a beauty gang in one of the great citys
a biker gang
maybe a skier in the mountains

Adzieboy

Master Trainer
Musicians?

Using pokemon such as Jigglypuff and whismur, but i supoose that's similar to the Guitarist people isn't it?

Maybe a florist with grass pokemon, or a herblorist?

A herblorist would be too similar to the aromathereapists in R/S.

I'm think maybe Goth trainers that use Dark and Ghosts types, or Miners that use Ground and Steel types.

It's a nice new idea, but I can't imagine that goths would be included in the game... it just doesn't seem like something "Poke-friendly".
