New Twilight Princess Info *SPOILERS*

Status
Not open for further replies.
I was looking around Zelda Legends until I found this article (IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS, DO NOT READ!!!)

The next issue of Nintendo Power contains a major article on Twilight Princess, which details new items and gameplay tidbits (along with a tiny story detail). For those who want to remain completely oblivious about the game, then steer clear because this WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. For the most part, these are just gameplay "spoilers," but just to be safe, read at your own discretion.
With that out of the way, I'll cut to the chase. Here's the new info, according to NP, on Twilight Princess:

-You have to acquire 5 Heart Pieces in order to make a Heart Container
-There are 3 types of bombs to use
-The claw shot has 2 functions: it can spring like the hookshot and swing with the grapple
-You start the game in Ordon Village
-There's a new weapon called "Ball and Chain"
-There's a new item called "Spinnec" that allows Link to float around and attack enemies
-Midna can teleport later on in the game

And now for the STORYLINE SPOILER:

-Zelda is the Twilight Princess

It's not a major shocker, but still, you can bet that "he" will capture her again (So says Nintendo Power issue 193). :\

Sweet, thanks for the info. It's new to me, but that's because I've been too lazy to look up info for this game, because there wasn't anything new for a while.

Five pieces?! It better have many dungeons or I'll fight the final boss with almost no hearts =P
About the chain and ball... pretty medieval, but what can it do that other items can't?

I like the ball and chain idea. 5 Heart Pieces now! Great. (sarcasm)

Could you provide a link? It's not so much that I don't believe you, as it is, that I don't want to believe this 5 pieces for a container thing. Although, I like the ball n' chain.

As practically the biggest Zelda fan around here I feel I should comment on this!

Well that certainly implies a bigger game. Woo!!! I'll guarantee that people will complain about this because it's different than other Zelda games... I dunno, typical, eh? But yeah, more heart pieces = bigger game.

Three? Normal bombs, Bomchus and... hmm... I dunno. A timed detonator bomb would be absolutely amazing though!

Good. I had kinda guessed this anyway because otherwise there would be no need for it to be a claw shot rather than a hookshot.

Taoru means Unnamed in Japanese. Ordon, could that be short for Ordinary by any chance. But whatever, I swear I'd heard this some place before!

This is the EXCITE moment out of all the information. A Ball and Chain!!! Think of the possibilities and the look! Personally, I'm really looking forward to this. From what I've read elsewhere, it slows Link down but can smash through walls which will be Zelda-rific.

What an intriguing weapon. It's actually a kind of platform that Link can control and jump on top of, etc. Kind of like a medieval hoverboard. It's definitely something I'm very looking forward to.

Well, there's got to be a way of teleporting and Midna seems the most logical way...

How odd... I could have sworn that they had confirmed Zelda was NOT the Twilight Princess. Nevermind!

Just Smile Guy's comments!

The setting in general is medieval, so its only natural that the items tie in with the setting.
I love the Clawshot, Ball-and-Chain, and Spinnec, but I can't help but wander how the spinnec will function. Possibly an advanced spin-attack that allows Link to hover like a helicopter?

Well, this information is cool. I never thought about it, but;
more heart pieces = longer game
actually makes sence IMO. I am hoping for a really long game. Something like 30 hours of gameplay would be great. I am intrigued to see the ball and chain ion action.

If there are five hearts to make one container, that means it might be longer than Oot! ^_^

As for the new weapons...Hmm, that's good...

Zelda is pretty obvious...>_>

Are you sure about 5 heart containers will be 1 new kife? That makes no sense seeing how its hard to imagine a 5 way divided heart.

I think it's been confirmed a long time ago that there is over 100 hours of gameplay. I read that at zeldauniverse.net about a year ago. but what do I know?

Isn't TP an english wii launch title?

and the gamecube version is mirrored to the wii version, like everything on the wii version is on the oppsite side than to the GCN version
