I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but can Ruby/Saphire trade with gold/silver/crystal? If so, what do you have to do to enable it? Simply beat the game or is there something else?

No, you can't trade with G/S/C.

Strawberry.

Strawberry fields.
Yeah, but you can still trade with Fire Red & Leaf Green (all of the Kanto POKéMON can be obtained through these games, and some of the Johto POKéMON as well).

For a lil more info so u don't think people are lying....
They can't trade because of certain limitations of the systems.
1. The cables aren't compatible
2. The games were done on different bit-wise designs
3. The ev system of the originals were different than they are now so if it weren't for the 1st 2 then this one would cause errors in transfering them correctly.

As Psycho said, you don't need G/S/C to get all the pokemon. All you need is all of the 3rd gen games. Emerald is your best bet to get the most pokes in one game.
