Okay, question guys, where do you find the macho brace, and what EXACTLY does it do with EVs? Does it double the number or simply add one?

it doubles EVs gained in battle (but slows you down while you're holding it), and you get it from one of the winstrates (house on route 111) after beating the entire family in a row.

Yes. If you don't want the speed decrease, unfortunately you have to get pokerus. >_<
