Would be better if they traded, but didn't trade back again. That would be an interesting twist, if it happened. If they do trade, they don't have to trade back, since then Gigalith would be owned by Trip. Would be cool if Trip decided: "Screw it, I'm taking Gigalith" leaving Ash with Conkeldurr. Now that is something I would see. It would make for an interesting plot twist.

It would make Trip one of the most hated characters in pokemon's existance, and would be stupid to give Trip Ash's first and only Rock-type, and give him his second Fighting-type, third if Tepig evolves.

I don't think that would happen, Roggenrola was Ash's first Rock type. Plus if Tepig evolves, and Scraggy is still around Ash would have 3 fighting types on his team.

For Iris:
Haxorus - No need to explain, it wants to become this.
Excadrill - Possible new move or two but it is pretty much done.
Emolga - Like Excadrill, new move(s) and it is done.
Deino - considering the episode that has deino, she might get it.
Gothita - Seems to suit Iris best but I wouldnt mind Ash or Cilian getting it.

If there is a Hoenn game released and therefore a Hoenn filler/subplot (ie either like the Kanto Battle Frontier to promote FireRed/LeafGreen or the Johto Festival for HeartGold and SoulSilver) then I'd like for Ash to get a Torchic, since it's always annoyed me that Torchic is the only Fire Starter that Ash has never had

Nice one, I really like this speculation, sadly it is up to the writers to decide what will Ash will have at the end of the unova era.

I don't want to think there's going to be a capture, but it just seems weird to have Gothita here, and a Gothorita in the Kami episode, and not have them be connected. Though they both could just belong to the CotD, which is probably the most likely thing.

I'm not averse to Gochimu being gifted to Ash, or Iris for that matter.

Better Iris than Ash, as with Ash, half the time Gochimu would not even be on his active roster at the same time. Except for when they'd both be at Juniper Camp.

They have done worse, like Ash owning Tranquill and in the preview of the first Don Battle Episode, it showed a Tranquill battling, but it belonged to a CoTD. They could easily have a Gothita here and then a Gothorita like 2-5 episodes later with 0% connection.

Dawn's Mamoswine, May's Blaziken, Misty's Gyarados, Brock's Chansey, Iris's Excadrill, Bianca's potential Accelgor..

People have also thought these suit the opposite gender better, but that stopped nothing. I'd love to see Ash with a really feminine looking Pokemon for once.. and this region, he has a choice of several, so why not?

Gothita > Lilligant, Frillish, Munna, etc.. IMO.
