Look this all depends on Aipom evolving in the upcoming contest(which is highly likely considering that it is the nature of the hour special), like or not if it does, and it doesn't leave, it's going to face the same treatment Torkoal recieved in hoenn.
Think about this, how often are Snorlax, Muk, Kingler, Tauros, and Heracross ever used or seen anymore, Glalie was ditched after the hoenn league and hasn't been heard or seen from since, Torkoal barely saw the light of day in AG, and even Donphan was largely neglected after it evolved, why should Etebossu be any different or more special than them.
Point overall if you ain't a starter or flyer and can't evolve or can't go any higher, then you aren't going to recive much focus, you'd be better off gone then getting that kind of treatment.

People said the same things about Bayleef before Ash went off to Hoenn and look at how it turned out.
Exactly what i'm hoping for, it's not really that impressive of a pokemon to me in terms of battling skills and it's personality isn't that appealing either, since after all we've already had an Ash crush pokemon.
