Obviously if they're the same, then that means their the same gender...

Um, im guessing your joking here, please tell me your joking here.

Bare in mind that until she get's an episode where she refuses to evolve, she's still far from being Bulbasaur...

I agree, hence why this is the speculation thread, and the first line in my post said 'What I want to see Ash with...'.

Joltik-Kid

Careful? Where's the fun in that?
Um, im guessing your joking here, please tell me your joking here.
And if I said I wasn't Of coarse I'm joking XD

Oh don't play that speculation thread thing on me...if that wasn't what you indeed wanted, why post it in the first place? I'm just saying there is no point in comparing to the two of them

I'm hollering at the fact that people want Ash's Oshawott and Pignite to evolve into Samurott and Emboar respectively so that they can be "the next Charizard." I mean, really? You want them to evolve just so that they ignore Ash's orders for 60 or so episodes? Even worse, you want them to disappear for an entire saga only to conveniently return before a big battle? I just find it really irritating that people want Ash's current Pokemon to replace some of the older ones. The only Pokemon that people don't want to replace is Pikachu, even though he doesn't really do much. It honestly boggles the mind.
Oh honey, I know you have trouble keeping up with us fresh-minded youths, but please. Clearly, "the next Charizard" also means the next Sceptile and the next Infernape; Ash's powerful starters. Oshawott is obviously being made out to be the shining starter, even if you do make laughable claims about Tepig. Whether Oshawott will evolve or not is the real question.

Your trolling ability is dropping~

Why do you say distant future? It will be the next evolution after Tepig's, maybe around April.

My bad! I didnt really explain. I dont like that evolution chain, distant future is what I'm hoping for but I know it will evolve soon
I can see swadlon evo but still dont like it (only like Sewaddle)

Grei

not the color
No he doesn't...

Hoenn:
Water Gen 3 - Morrison had Swampert
Grass Gen 3 - Tyson had Sceptile
Fire Gen 1 - Harry Potter had Charizard, Harrison had Blaziken but he went to Johto...

Ash had Grovyle, a middle stage.

Also, in Johto:
Water Gen1 - Gary had Blastoise
Grass Gen 2 - Vincent had Meganium
Fire Gen 3 - Harrison had Blaziken

Ash had Bayleef, a middle stage (And Charizard, but he's not from Johto, well, he moved to Charicific Valley, but that don't count).

In Unova:
- Trip has Serperior
- Bianca has Emboar
- Burgundy has Samurott?

Ash has Pignite. A middle stage...

Seeing that means that there is a very large chance that nothing further happens to the starters at all until the league. Sinnoh was an exception to a trend that was established in Johto.

Oh come on. You know that these sorts of "patterns" don't actually exist. The writers will do whatever they want, and as much as we try to predict their next move, using their previous choices for Ash's team will only get you so far.

Isn't that in the future?? And we don't know exactly which episode or what month it's gonna take place. So we might as well say "distant", because that's what it is.

MrLuigi1046

All Hail Lord Goomy!
My predictions for ash's team

Reasons

Pikachu-derp a derp
Unfezant-yeah
Samurott-it is about ducking time we get a ducking fully evolved water starter
Pignite-confirmed, i really don't give a damn if he fully evolves or not as long as he isn't the powerhouse
Servine-just to give her a boost when she faces trip's serperior
Scrafty-50-50 chance he evolvesin this region but most likely scraggy(i couldn't find a picture of scraggy so i put scrafty)
Seismitoad-it was hinted in the episode that his palpitoad will evolve because he called thane's seismitoad palpitoad's evolution and to make up for not evolving his water pokemon in past generations
Leavanny-confirmed
Gigalith-since he won't trade with trip any more he might find out that boldore evolves by trade later in the series because juniper told him so he trades with cilan or iris and they trade back
Krookodile-to give him another power house and evolves near the 8th gym

How exactly does a comment about one pokemon being the evolution of another hint at anything?

Lorde

Let's go to the beach, each.
When people say the next Charizard, it's obvious they mean the powerhouse starter with the most development of the saga, just like Sceptile and Infernape.

Please tell me your actually joking if you think they meant that Samurott/Emboar would become the next Pokemon to ignore Ash and go for training?

Half of my post was sarcastic; I thought it was obvious. I was just trying to point out that while Samurott/Emboar may not act like Charizard, there's still the possibility that they'll develop some sort of emotional issue; we've seen something similar happen to Infernape, after all. I just don't want another fully-evolved Starter Pokemon with emotional issues because despite what some people think, I don't find it interesting, nor do I think it really leads anywhere. The writers just waste time trying to develop those Pokemon instead of focusing their efforts on Ash's other Pokemon; in this case, his reserves.

And I just can't believe that my big sister was trying it with me; as if my comment was really that tough to decipher.

But it isn't right to detach that he is going to evolve - 100% sure - in a distant future when he put another prediction about a pokemon's evolution (that doesn't have any confirmation yet) without a reference such as "in a distant future". It's all about lexicon, but whatever, this is unnecessary.

Well, I apologise, but yeah it was pretty hard to tell whether you was being serious or not.

Personally I wouldn't mind if another emotional issue arised, but I don't mind a lot of things in the anime at all so it doesn't matter to me ( examples being I never care that Pikachu screenhogs, Ash is the main character, Tobias's fight in DP etc. etc.).

Um... you and sapphiresceptile are sisters? Or is this just an online friendship thing going? Another thing I can't tell if your being serious on haha.

Because those type of comments are rarely if at all ever made in this show.

Pokedex: Seismitoad the evolved form of Palpitoad.

Ash *excitedly*: That's Palpitoad's evolution?!!!!!

Didn't we have the same thing happen with Totodile? It didn't guarantee his evolution, so why would it be different with Palpitoad? I'm not saying it will or won't evolve, but a single comment about one pokemon evolving into another doesn't mean anything.

No he doesn't...

Seeing that means that there is a very large chance that nothing further happens to the starters at all until the league. Sinnoh was an exception to a trend that was established in Johto.

Guys, here were the fully evolved starters used by league rivals in Johto and Hoenn.

In the Johto League:

[img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/009.gif[/img139][img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/154f.gif[/img139][img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/257.gif[/img139]
Gary's Blastoise, Vincent's Meganium and Harrison's Blaziken.

In the Hoenn League:

[img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/260.gif[/img139][img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/254.gif[/img139][img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/006.gif[/img139]

Morrison's Swampert, Tyson's Sceptile and Ash's Charizard.

In the Unova League I might expect:

[img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/497.gif[/img139][img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/500.gif[/img139][img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/i/503.gif[/img139]
Trip's Serperior, Bianca's Emboar and Burgundy's Samurott.

If Ash's Oshawott doesn't evolve (becomes Piplup 2.0), Burgundy will showcase Samurott. If Oshawott does evolve but Burgundy doesn't evolve Dewott, then Ash might have Samurott.

I am most likely seeing Pignite as Ash's powerhouse starter this saga cos starters that evolve often become powerhouses, if Oshawott stays unevolved due to marketing then he isn't the powerhouse.

Same happened with Cyndaquil...it took 500 episodes for that to happen :/

Um, Ash didn't use Charizard in the Hoenn league...this guy did http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Clark His name was Clark, Locormus just didn't know the name

Who knows with Unova though, Oshwott could still be a powerhouse like Buizel...sadly I could see Snivy being one as well (as in not evolving) Still, till proven as fact, Oshawott and Snivy still have chances to evolve

I thought you liked that the starters were being developed seeing as how you enjoy Oshawott's presence on the big screen.

Morrison's Swampert, Tyson's Sceptile and Ash's Charizard.
Ash used his Charizard in the Johto league not Hoenn. That was the orchestra guy's Charizard which he used in sync with a Quilava.

Let's see since we don't know if Paul's Torterra was ever used in the Sinnoh League ash showcased Torterra(poorly) and Infernape(epically ) while Barry showcased the penguin thing Empoleon . So is it possible that this could happen ashe league goes into the league will all middle staged starters while his rivals and burgundy showcase the fully evolved starters and like sceptile , Sceptile was a grovyle at the league while dewott could happen and Dewott evolves in filler ?

If they happen to be all mid staged by the league, then it's not just Burgundy, it's also Trip and Bianca...since Pignite and Servien could potentially evolve after the league as well (Not saying Dewott would be confirmed though)

problem here is Burgandy isn't confirmed to be a league rival unless she says so, all we know is she's Cilan's rival.
