You know, a nickname should be the judge of the trainer, not another person. The name is a reflection of the trainer's feelings for the pokemon. Sure you can ask other people for names, but you won't get the same feeling for them as if they were your own. If you can't think of names to give them, just leave them be and name them when you think of a good name for them.

I named my Clefairy "Clefarious" to be a pun on the word "nefarious" because when I trained it to a certain point it wouldn't obey me for a while =/ Then I got the Earthbadge.

But basically indigestible_wad is right. If you take names that other people suggested you might not feel the same attachment you would like if you had named them yourself.

umm, they were just asking for suggestions. And for suggestions, I always name my pokemon after greek gods(appropriately of course)
bulbasaur- Artemis(goddess of nature)
pidgey- hermes(flying messenger of gods)
mankey- not sure......
Pikachu- Zeus(big cheese of gods, throws lightning bolts)
nidoran- not sure......
clefairy- not sure......
