Nicknames

I give my favourite Pokemon nicknames. I name them after characters from books, movies, other video games or just something that sounds cool. My favourite is possibly Rain for Vaporeon.

Always and forever since I was little! I never really followed a theme, except for that one time in Sapphire when I tried to have them all be gems. It became difficult fast. :T

My frieand and I always call our Ampharos Ampy just becuase thats what we have called it since we were young.

Another reason: I tend to trade my main pokémon to my newest game. So some of the Pokemon I have are still from Sapphire, Leaf Green, Diamond & Heart Gold
Some where breeded afterward though. But cba to start training them again on my White. Have got loads of 75+ pokes u see

I've only nicknamed my pokemon once it was a Starmie and i named it Misty because of the anime

I nickname my main party members, but if I just decide to catch a random pokemon I don't nickname it.
My personal favourite nickname is my swampert, which is called Marshal.
My most common nickname is river. My first blastoise was named this, but I lost it when it was transferred to my fake emerald version (which I obviously didn't know was fake at the time) and since then, I have nicknamed most of my water pokemon that are in teams after that original. I am currently on River IV.

Whenever I try using a theme to name my pokemon, it just doesn't end up sounding right. So I just name them whatever comes to mind. I nicknamed my entire in-game team in White, except Registeel and Mienshao. Mienshao was received in a trade, so yeah.

My Serperior is named Smugleaf, for obvious reasons.

Archeops is named Broodonkus. I'm not really sure where that one came from, but it somehow sounds prehistoric.

Seismitoad is named Slippy, after the Star Fox character.

I haven't named Registeel, but if I could, it would be named Registall because he's so good at stalling.

Volcarona is named Enfuego, which I believe is Spanish for "on fire".

Sometimes, if I have a really good nickname on another game, I use the same nickname in another game. For example, I named a Remoraid "Diddely" in my Pearl and I thought it was the cutest nickname in the history of nicknames. However, that was a female one, so when I caught a male remoraid, I couldn't call it the same thing. So I named it Wendel. Now, if I catch a remoraid in any other game, I name it Diddely or Wendel, depending on whether it's male or female.

I only nickname starters. I don't have anything against nicknames, but, when I used them, it only annoyed me to have to think of a nickname.

I name everything. And I name everything anything.

I have some Pokemon named after book characters, especially dragons/dragonesque Pokemon. I name some after places, or after their own name. And more often than not, I name them something random like Numnum. Or Pae.

My nickname is Billy. My real name(since im tajikistani) is Velvel, which is like William, but my friends call me billy. I sorta like to nickname, but its not really a hobby persay

Edit: Whoops, didnt know it was pokemon nicknaming. I dont really nickname for those either, unless l have one in mind.
