I need your opinions. My friend wants to know which to train more, and I can't decide. I need opinions.

No, torkoal is better at special attack.

I vote torkoal, you can't go wrong with a fire-breathing, crying, smog-blowing tortoise.

i would go with nintails with torkoal speed and i am not sure if his defense is low but say it is then he coul get hit and be down and out but if his defense is high i would say torkoal because of its attacks

I really prefer Ninetales as it is a canine, but I have to agree. Torkoal would be the wiser choice unless your friend has a thing for speed.

Ninetails, is better in my opinion, it has more speed, and a decent movepool.

Ninetails is a Canine?? I thought Ninetails is a Fox?
Foxes are canines.
Shouldnt this be in the games section?
And Torkoal. Ninetales is okay but Torkoal would last longer in a drawn out battle.

Ninetales. Mainly because I don't like slow Pokémons XP.

Ninetales all the way... only because I don't like Torkoal too much... ._.

Torkoal's base Stats:
HP: 70
Atk: 85
Def: 140
Sp.Atk: 85
Sp.Def: 70
Speed: 20(._.)

Ninetales Base Stats:
HP:73
Atk: 76
Def: 75
Sp.Atk: 81
Sp.Def: 100
Speed: 100

Actually, I just checked. In my Emerald game, I have a level 32 Ninetails, and Torkoal lvl 32. I never gave either of them any Irons or what have you, and in battle, Ninetails was better.

There are just so many flaws in those three sentences that I'm not even going to comment on them.

Of course it depends on what type of pokemon you want in your team, but I prefer Torkoal, as it has much more durability than Ninetales. Fire types suck in general because they are weak to the most common moves (Surf/Earthqauke/Rock Slide), but Torkoal with its 140 base defense is able to survive a few of those hits while striking back with its decent attacks. Plus, its ability, White Smoke, prevents it from intidmidate/sand attack and the like, which is pretty useful in-game.

Oh, and did I mention that Ninetales' Sp.Attack stat is lower than that of Torkoal's?

Next person to say "Ninetails" instead of Ninetales gets their nipples chewed off.

That aside, go with Torkoal. I myself had a Ninetales, and she blew in battle. Besides, nothing beats a 'sploding tortoise.

Damnit. Two of my fav fire types...

I'd say Torkoal. Cool design, and the one on the team has been pretty useful so far.
