Ds hands down. Better games. Looks slicker. Plus it is cheaper on the wallet. Still get a very good sysytem. I just like Ds better. NINTENDO DOES NOT FAIL IN HANDHELDS!!!

Pure

back.
DS is much better the the PSP plus it has a whole lot of good games out and due out some games that are coming are
D/P
FFIII
where the PSP is lucky to bring out a game a month..

i perfer the handhelds over the homebased console so the DS is better then the wii for me..

Really?

Tell me, then.

What month did Loco Roco come out? How about NBA Live 07, Lego Star Wars II, etc...?

Well, talk about exaggeration.

PSP is better. More graphics capabilities, analog stick, better games.

IMO, racing games like WipEout Pure, and Ridge Racer are better than Mario Kart DS.

I wish i could get the ds and the wii but i can't cause it costs alot to get both so i have decided to get the wii.

Then i will save up for a ds lite and maybe the price will go down to a $100

PSP. DS annoys me. Although if D/P continues to tempt me, I might get one.

Anyone who said PSP, you have my respect. Not saying I prefer PSP.

Now, I guess it depends on your taste. PSP is much more of a media system than the DS, while DS has more unique gameplay. I really can't decide, I have both and I like them equally.

EDIT: I see you've made your decision. Way before I posted. XD I just missed it. I have nothing wrong with the decision you've made.

And how is that, uses new easy controlls while combining hard core gaming.

Even though I got myself a PSP, I'm beginning to get jealous of people owning a DS. I might start begging my dad to buy my a DS too, but that's quite unlikely. So anyway, here's the comparison:

Graphics
DS: Good graphics
PSP: Good graphics, equal to the DS, if not, only slightly more superior
-
Screens
DS: Has two screens. The screens get damaged easily due to the use of the stylus, but that's not very hard to fix once you get those protective layers over the screens...
PSP: Only has one screen. The screen is the largest around compared to any other handheld. It is prone to fingerprints. Even with the protective layer, the fingerprints are visible.
-
Model
DS: The DS is smaller than the PSP and is clam-shelled. It fits easily in a pocket. Has 2 should buttons, directional pad, start and select buttons and four other buttons. Has a speaker. Comfortable to hold. The on/off switch slides easily, slide once to off. Close the DS to enter stand-by mode.
PSP: The PSP is larger than the DS. Has two shoulder buttons, directional pad, analog stick, start and select buttons and four other buttons. On/off switch does not slide as smoothly as the DS's. Slide once to enter stand-by mode, slide and hold to switch off. On/off switch can be slid accidentaly while playing games.
-
Sound
DS: Has nice sound. I am unsure if speakers or earphones are sold for the DS.
PSP: Again, has nice sound. Contains earphones that come with the package to offer clearer sound when plugged to PSP. Sells speakers seperately (Though I don't think they're any good)
-
Capabilities
DS: The DS has a great Wi-Fi system that allows players to look for players worldwide. Internet access and media storage should be coming out in the future.
PSP: The PSP has a Wi-Fi system, though inferior to the DS. Usually only capable of local ad-hoc. Is able to surf the internet and store music, photos and videos. Has game sharing, though NOT available to ALL games.
-
Power
DS: Has a long battery life, with a battery lasting to perhaps more than a day.
PSP: Has low battery life. Battery lasts for about 4 hours.
-
Games
DS: The DS has 'kiddy' games that not only appeals to kids but the older generation as well. In other words, the games are 'kiddy', but fun. Loads games better then the PSP.
PSP: PSP has games that contains an 'M' rating, suitable to an older audience. Many of the games are imports and remakes of other games from the PS or PS2.

Just to list a few...
DS Games: Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros., Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Final Fantasy III, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Brain Age, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Contact, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, Pokemon Ranger
PSP: Daxter, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Monster Hunter: Freedom, Tekken: Dark Ressurection, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Killzone: Liberation, Loco Roco, Lumines, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, Fifa Soccer 07, Medal of Honour: Heroes, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

Uh, what? The screens aren't easily damaged due to stylus usage. o_O Some people need to realize that you do NOT need to dig your stylus into the screen like it's a pencil. If anything, the PSP's more prone to screen damage as you need to have the protective shell in order to keep the screen from scratching in, say, your pocket.

Should clear something up. The DS Lite's speakers are actually LOWER in volume to the regular DS'. Turning the volume up to max on both handhelds, you'll hear that the original DS is actually louder than the Lite. The DS and Lite do have headphones, though. The Lite even has one with a microphone attached.[/SIZE]

Liar. LocoRoco, crap? You've got to be kidding me. LocoRoco has innovativity in it. I can tell right from the getgo that you're a Nintendo fanboy, MKDS has the online multiplayer factor and other fun things, sure, but Wipeout isn't pathetic. It's relatively decent. If you can't bother to see both sides, then you shouldn't go around spewing "Don't make me laugh."

Fanboys make me a sad youkai.

From what I know, the people in where I live simply poke the stylus on the screen... -.-

As for the DS's sound, I'm not very familiar with it since it's my brother who owns one while I own a PSP (Darn...) And I haven't been observing it very much. >.<

I'm quite disappointed with the PSP games actually, I was hoping for better RPGs (I just probably haven't been looking good enough) But from what I can tell, the PSP seems to offer better shooter games than the DS? I could be wrong of course.

Both. PSP have more games, but NDS have Pokemon :p

I'm not a Fanboy...so please don't think that just because i like Nintendo games more...

yes Loco Roco is as you put it "innovative" yet i don't like it it's just to well boring don't forget this is my opinion not yours..
and wipeout games are just like every racing game they are all alike same with sport games it's like you play one version of the game you've played them all...atleast Mario kart makes it more unique...
i love some games out for the PSP though Megaman looks really nice and so does Daxter but i hate the MGS series and i hate more then half of the PSP tittles i think if you want a multimedia device a PSP is your thing if you want good video games go with the DS it's just that Easy...

don't call me a fanboy because i give everything a try before i bag it..

Mario Kart makes the racing genre unique because...?

Oh, and like I said in an earlier post of mine, I am not impressed by the DS library because not enough RPGs have come out for my liking (Still waiting for games like Tales of the Tempest, I hear rumours of an Atelier Iris for DS) whereas the PSP has far more RPGs and other niche games I could pretty much imagine, also, free homebrew.

I don't understand your rationale for saying the DS library is superior over that of the PSP, mainly because you state feeble reasons. You say Mario Kart DS makes the racing genre unique, but how? :/

okay DS's library is great it's got a nice ballance i never see RPG's on the PSP atleast i can't find many..

Mario Kart allows the use of items and has very unique race tracks not just a road..their you go..

If you can't find RPGs on the PSP, the RPGs on the DS are non-existent. How's that for an analogy? :x

Honestly though, you see, Burnout has a unique concept. You can crash into things deliberately and still get win for it. Heck, one of the modes involves crashing in order to deal the most amount of carnage possible. How is that not cool?
