I might be getting a nintendo DS for my birthday if I am well behaved and if I really want to move up the rank from my SP. I heard that they play gameboy games, do they? Also I want to know if I should get it and if I should get Animal Crossing and nintendogs.

Go for animal crossing... its great, nintendogs is good also, but i'd suggest mario kart because of wi-fi and nintendogs gets old...

I think you should get a DS because you will be able to go all the great games coming out for it! Also if you do get a DS get Animal Crossing, I have easily played it over 3 times as much as Mario Kart DS.

Get the DS Lite, and with it either animal crossing or mario Kart

DS Lite is costing a bomb right now. Even though her birthday isn't until June, it'll still cost a fair amount to import it (you've got to factor in import duty/tax extra shipping costs etc).

Unless it's out in the US by then. But I didn't think it had been given a western date yet?

What about Nintendogs? Is it worth getting the pack, I want to get both animal crossing and nintendogs but is Nintendogs any good?

Nintendogs looks great on paper but gets boring and repetitive. I advise getting Kirby:Canvas Curse, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing(If you have WiFi, this game is more addicting than crack XD), Super Mario 64, Super Princess Peach, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Tetris DS(wifi is great here). They are all great games.

I thought that you were asking which console to get, but your first post has nothing to do with your thread title really. I just wanted to point this out, as i am kinda dence and didnt know which one you wanted to knoe.

As fopr the console, it would be better to get the DS Lite if you could, and hopefuilly if it realesed over here and in the US.

As for games, Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, Animal Crossing: Wide World. I know that these are wi-fi games, but they have a lot to offer without it.

Id suggest keeping the GBA SP and buying the DS. Why? Because if you still have your GBA pokemon games and want to trade you still can if you keep the GBA. Although you can still play gba game with the DS you cant do anything else with it. So which to buy? Its up to you.

Deoxys Prime

Time will tell.
Nintendogs is quite fun, but slowly loses its fun factor. (7.5

Animal Crossing wild world is great, and you can do quite a lot, if you can access WiFi, it is A TON better. Still good nevertheless, I still play it quite a bit. (8.7)

Super Mario 64 DS is pretty darned good, it could take a few months to get all 150 stars, depending on your skill level. I loved it, when I got far though, it wasn't as much fun, but there is always the minigames. (8.0)

Metroid Prime Hunters is INCREDIBLE! If you get WiFi, this game is... *kneels down* "GOD OF GAMES" lol, not really, but it is incredible. Voice chat with friend, add rivals on WiFi, good story mode, 7 hunters and 7 modes! With 25+ stages! (9.4)

I dunno about Tetris DS, although I heard it was really good.

Summary of games to try...
Kirby Canvas Curse
Super Mario 64 DS
Metroid Prime Hunters (Strongly suggested)
Nintendogs
Animal Crossing Wild World

I would prefer you get the Nintendo DS, because it is backwards compatible, but there is only one drawback to owning a DS - you cannot play GBC and GB games, so any 1st and 2nd Generation Pokémon games cannot be played on a DS.

The DS also has unique games, and has a higher fun factor and originality than the PSP, at least that's what some people say.

Super Princess Peach is a video game in which the usual roles of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach are reversed, and you must play as the always-captured princess and rescue Mario and Luigi from the clutches of Bowser.

Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Figuring [Do not know what the "Fi" means], I believe, in which you use the wireless routers from your computers, or someone else's router, and use it to connect wirelessly to play multiplayer games on the DS, such as Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime Hunters, and what is also Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

You answered your own question.

And I too would recommend keeping your GBA SP, even if you get a DS, as there are certain things that one can do that the other can not.

For anyone considering the DS Lite at the moment, I've heard it's fairly easy to configure for english. Just be warned that as a default its language is set to Japanese; you'll have to go online to find the correct prompts to go to English (unless you speak japanese).

Oh, and Wi-fi, refers to wireless fidelity of 802.11, a specific family of wireless networking.
