I was wondering is nintendo DS really worth getting. I don't want to waste $130 for nothing.

There are a stack of other good games aswell. Mysterious Dungeon and Ranger will be coming out soon. Nintendogs, Brain Age, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart DS, Super Mario DS, New Super Mario Bros., (soon to be released)Phantom Hourglass, Tetris DS, Metroid Prime Hunters. Whew, they're all good games.

Well, if you live in the United States, Metroid Prime Hunters and Tetris DS were released months ago, Metroid Prime Hunters being my personal favorite game for the system released so far. The single player is lackluster, but if you have Wifi, the online multiplayer is amazingly fun.

I would wait a week and get a DS Lite if I was you. If you shop around you should be able to find one close to the normal price of the regular DS, unless you were planning on getting the old one just because it will be dirt cheap when the Lite comes out. But I would just get a Lite, otherwise it will be outdated the second you buy it.
They're well worth getting though, it has some awsome addictive games and is a true example of Nintendo putting gameplay first.

The console is VERY much worth it. I have 13 games already, and I bought it on release date last year. I want the Lite, of course. The DS is too special to pass up - with quality games available AND in the works, it goes to show that Nintendo will ALWAYS be king of handhelds. ALWAYS. It's never been any other way, has it? ^_^

New SMB's already out. And no, don't waste $130 on it. Why would you want 3-D graphics on a handheld, with 10-14 hours of battery life, compared to PSP's 2.5 on good games? Why 'waste' it on a system that has two screens, touch screen, Wi-Fi, heavy hitting series, and a new version that's even better?DriveshafT said:

But yes, the majority of the games that have been released for the system are awesome.
Mario Kart DS, Sonic Rush, Metroid Prime Hunters, Tetris DS, Meteos, and a whole 'lotta others are awesome games to pick from. Just look at my game list on IGN and you will see the good games on my list.

I've already got Super Mario 64 DS, Polarium, Pac-Pix, Meteos, Nintendogs, Another Code:Two Memories (That game has a different name in US, though), Mario Kart DS, Kirby Power Paintbrush, Mario and Luigiartners in Crime, Animal Crossing:Wild World, Tetris DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Brain Training. With more great games available and many in development, PSP is doomed. VERY doomed.

get one it's a perfect console it's got great graphics and adictive games and you don't need the newest ds lite because it's just a little smaller..
It's not a console. >_> And the Lite is 2/3 the size, 20% lighter, the screens stay the same size, it's brighter, the Mic is moved to a more central spot, the hinge goes along the whole thing(which the Mic is on), the Power light is on the hinge, so you can see it when it's closed, the + Pad is smaller, Power's a right side switch, the buttons are placed higher, and Select and Start are below A, B, X, and Y and are the little 'o' ones like on the GBA. It's not just a little smaller.

A DS is worth getting but get a DS Lite... which I think you are anyway, but.
Online play, is amazing.
And the games you need to get are: Super Mario 64 DS, New Super Mario Bros., Wario Ware Touched, Nintendogs, Pokemon D/P, Legend of Zelda, etc, etc, etc. There are loads.
