Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Next Hardware - SOURCE ALL NEWS/RUMORS

Speaking of Nintendo...

Regardless of my very recent disappointments with the company, and how they're handling things with Switch 2, I remain still extremely satisfied with the console. And this video here is a good testify of the quality AND quantity of the games of the console (in my case thought I would have rated Fire Emblem Engage and Cadence of Hyrule A, Yoshi's Crafted World B, and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet D, but aside that I agree with all the ratings of the games I played).

Honestly, I'm not sure the next console will manage to be equal...

Thing is... as I already said, after Mario Kart 8 Deluxe plus its DLCs, I don't really feel the need of buying a new Mario Kart anyway.

And in general, as I already said aside Donkey Kong Bananza, there's nothing that I really regret by not buying the console. That added to the price factors and the fact that lately I've been thinking of retiring from gaming for multiple reasons (pratically the sole reason I'm still looking at gaming sites, is to have the release date of Metroid Prime 4, the last game left I have a passionate interest of playing. Rigorously on Switch 1 of course) made me definitely deciding to not buy Switch 2, at all.

I've been really satisfied with Switch 1's lineup, there were about 50 games I loved (first party I mean, because with the indies technically the number gets higher, but I've been playing them on Steam instead) but I think its successor won't be match for it at all (Just compare the first year's lineup of Switch 2 to the one of Switch 1. It ends up with broken bones...) . Besides, I already got hundreds of games I can revisit for my heart's content, I don't really need to buy more. I'll be fine, I just need Metroid Prime 4 first, and once the release date is given and I do my preorder I can totally stop looking at gaming sites.

Well, do you, mate.

I just can't help but be a bit jaded by this sentiment, given how often I hear it. Usually the person ends up buying the console in about a year or so. Don't get me wrong; I'm not against not buying a console. Hell, I swore off Xbox two decades ago and never looked back. Of course, in my case the games were never the issue; the consoles were.

I've always had my 'three games rule' (there must be at least three games I like in order for a console to be worth purchasing), so I feel where you're coming from. It's where you're headed that seems off. But again, you are right to do you.

*sigh* Truth being told... it's... way more complicated than that. But I cannot enter into details because of... personal reasons.

Nintendo says it could brick Switch systems if users “bypass, modify, decrypt, defeat, tamper with” their games in updated agreement

Yikes. Wondering if this is what happened to innocent people recently via the updates. And I wonder if people who innocently got hacked Pokemon from others would/could be affected by this.

Think it's more for if you modified your console to play games that shouldn't be on there.

Probably not.
Agreed. I don’t think Nintendo would punish an innocent person who ended up with a hacked Pokémon as a result of Wonder Trade as it was out of their control what Pokémon they’d end up with.

Looking at the sales numbers, the Switch 1 is so close to beating the Nintendo DS as the best-selling Nintendo console. Does anyone here think it will happen? I do.

Probably. But it's still a bit concerning.

From what I've been reading, this isn't terribly new anyway, and systems like the Wii had similar clauses. Also, I've been seeing that Nintendo isn't actually going to brick systems, but may terminate services if using unauthorized measures to circumvent its hardware or software.

In other words, I wouldn't worry about it.

Got another Rare game coming to the Switch Online service that will soon be known as Nintendo Classics.
Of course, you can't help but wonder if the original KI will be coming.
