Nintendo WIFI events?

Would it be cool if instead of traveling to Nintendo events to get rare pokemon, we could recieve them through WIFI in Diamond & Perl on certain occasions? Discuss Its here.

I heard that Nintendo do events so that people will see stuff there and buy it, or see something they'd like to buy when it comes out. But Wi-Fi is a lot easier.

Yeah, like maybe every two weeks a tournament would be hosted and the winner would recieve that rare pokemon. But after you have obtain the rare pokemon, you would no longer be able to enter in the tournaments.

I think that you might have a level limit that goes down each time you win, so if you're a good player, you'll truly be tested.

if they did it they would have they events then they would make the tourny later and it'll stay 4ever you won't be able to enter the SAME tourny again the prize pkmn can't be traded

This reminds me of that whole cellphone Celebi spiel in Japan when you had to call a certain number on a certain day while your phone was attached to your GBC in order to obtain Celebi.

Anyways, I could certainly see this working but I'm afraid that Nintendo's marketing department would beg to differ. From the perspective of a fan, yes, it would be awesome. Now I don't have to travel to New York just to get a Deoxys. From the perspective of an advertising agent, no, it would kill the jubilee of our tours and events. Think of how few people would attend PRA! ;$

Good point Eszett. Maybe a different pokemon would be availabe at PRA.

Yeah, make a small line of code in D/P to make the game stop working when it has been hacked, and make it so that you can only obtain the "old" secret Pokemon from tourneys. Then, make the "new" secret Pokemon only obtainable in promos.

first off, that small line of coding is impossible, second: thats the dumbest idea ever, who would want all the old ones they probably ALREADY HAVE and never get the new ones, WTH?!

would be useful to get stuff through wifi events that cannot be gotten any other way, due to there never being any events in your particular corner of the globe...
