Nintendogs for the PSP

Well, not litterally Nintendogs, but the PSP is set to get a dog simulator. It's called The Dog: Happy Life (crap name if you ask me) and here's the source from ign.com

http://psp.ign.com/articles/687/687228p1.html

It's got a couple of screen shots as well but I can't get the link to work. If anyone can, please post them as I'd like to see them. Thanks.

Nintendogs is a pretty cool game... for about a week or so. Hopefully, the PSP dog sim won't be as repetitive and limited as Nintendogs was... even though I don't plan on buying it.

I'm pretty sure The Dog: Happy life is just the Japanese title. They have crazy titles there. It'll change for our market.

WTF? Honestly, if there's gonna be a nintendog-style game for the PSP, do you think it'll do better than Nintendogs?

I got a Wii!
Thats annoying, it was bad enough Sony thinking they could make a better hand held then Ninyendo, then they go and do this! They really need to come up with there own ideas. <__<

OMG, the screenshot proves it! it is basically a copy of nintendogs!

why don't they just release a crappy legend of zelda or pokemon game, or even make a crappy game with a crappy Mario spoof in it while they are at it?

but it will never be better than Nintendogs, even the name of nintendogs is better then this!

I cannot believe sony. Well actually I can, but it is just a saying after all. I suppose that after the huge popularity of nintendogs, they thought that they would do a copy. I mean, does the PSP have a microphone or touch screen? That is the only reason that nintendogs was popular, because of those features.

Why is everyone assuming it's Sony copying Nintendogs? They make the PSP, not every game for it

The response you guys are giving this is as bad as yelling at the creators of Goldeneye 64 for copying off Doom. This is a genre, called simulation, not a licensed franchise.

Speaking of which, there's another game that's similar to Nintendogs too, just not as popular.

It's called "Petz" and it's for the GBA.
Not too bad of a game, actually. My sister owns the game, and I thought the gameplay was very addictive and more RPG-like.

I've heard Nintendogs wasn't as great as people make it out to be, so I avoided it and planning on getting Animal Crossing instead.

I hope Yukes does a good job on this game, and give it its own distinct charm that will differentiate it from Nintendogs.

If it turns out well, I'm sure to buy it for my PSP.

There's loads of copies for it, but the GBA version was considered good because it didn't have the features of Nintendogs. This PSP one, you can't tell the difference as much.

Well sony could possibly make the dogs: happy life better than nintendogs. I was extremely dissapointed with nintendogs (having reserved as soon as the release date was announced) and I felt that any developer team could do better if they tried hard enough. There were only three contests and training for them was simple and repetitive. There were way too little tricks and they took very little time too teach. I applaud them for breed selections and actually using the touch screen for more than an interactive display area, but this game was heavily flawed.

Thank you. Most of the games are developed by other companies, not Sony. Sony just releases the games on their system.

First they make the PSP when the DS comes out. Now they make a Nintendogs game for PSP. What next? Will the PSP 2 play Gamecube games? Will they make the Playstation Revolution?

For the record, PSP was in the works much longer than the DS was and PSP is far different than the DS is in terms of interface and game selection. If PSP copied the DS it would have two screens, one you are able to "touch". BTW, how the heck would PSP be able to play gamecube games if nintendo has copyrights on them. Being able to play playstation and PS2 games on PSP, although a little farfetch'd, makes more sense than playing gamecube games on PSP (well unless sony buys nintendo but they already have a rediculously large debt on them, if anyone buys nintendo it's microsoft but it's going to cost them). Last but not least, why would sony directly copy nintendo's idea with revolution when it's success is extremely questionable. You seem to be a misinformed nintendo fanboy.

P.S Nintendogs does not equal "Dogs: The happy life"

We've seen a screenshot for this game. Nothing else. That screenshot reveals little about the gameplay, in fact, correct me if I'm wrong, it looks like a menu. How do you know that The Dog is going to have the same features as Nintendogs?

And if you've actually read the article, it reveals there were dog sim games in a time BEFORE Nintendogs. On PS2. Shock! Horror!

Which proves that PSP will have a hard time agaisnt Nintendogs. Also Sony has gotten really stirred up about DS beating them in the market. This isn't that shocking, but then again they rely on 3rd party games.

Explain? How exactly does the existance of an earlier dog sim prove the PSP is going to have a hard time against Nintenddogs? It's not like the PS2 and the PSP are exactly the same. They're both Sony, yes, they share similar names, but the games released for each console aren't identical.

Maybe the reason Nintendogs did so well was because nearly every new DS owner felt they had to have a copy, ergo, they went out and got one. Nintendogs, in reality isn't that much of an eventful game (I loved it for a week, and still do, it just loses it's charm, is all), but it sold alot of copies. And what makes a good game: The quality and gameplay, or how much stock it shifts?

Question, do more people own a DS and/or PS2. Out of those how many of them own the dog sim. Probably DS wins even though PS2 are a more common site. However more people probably own the DS dog sim over the PS2 dog sim. More people own the DS dog sim.
