No sea routes?

There are some paths to me that don't look like a surfing route, but seem like it.

It would be cool if you can surf all the way to johto or some other place
I think there is a sea route but they might have hidden it.It can be an underwater sea route.surely the only major games with no sea routes are big console games like orre and whatever.

Honestly, I don't think we'll be able to go to johto/hoenn/kanto. (wasn't that confirmed? Since they lie so far away)
That's a bit of a downer, though. I loved it in G/S/C that we were able to go to Kanto too.
on topic: To be honest I can't really remember (a picture would be nice?), but if it's in the beginning, I'm guessing we'll be using a boat. But Surf will be in the game, why wouldn't it be?

I looked at the map and there are some routes that go over sea in the north eastern part.just because the routes on the map are still orange coloured doesnt mean there not water.

...is it just me, or does the route that straddle the east of the map seem to be a sea route? Either that or that's one thin strip of land.
Considering we've had sea routes in every game so far, I would suspect we'll still get them. Remember that video of the overworld in action? There's a body of water right at the end of it. It would highly surprise me if we do not at the very least get to use Surf on any of the routes.

I liked the surfing (besides the incredibly annoying tentacool and wingull and magikarp always popping up) so i hope its here in D/P

Yeah, I never quite understood why there were no Orange Islands in the games. I heard that the islands on FR/LG were supposed to be them, but they look differently, right?
It would be too random if you were able to go the the OI in this game, though. Since it has nothing to do with it.

Hmm...there probably will be surfing in the game. I can see at least one surf route (the one eszett pointed out). Thankfully, there seems to be much less surfing than in rse.
