This was before I got into competitive battling.

Double Team

Three different damaging electric moves, such diversity! The double team I would max out evasion on a trainer's first pokemon, then hope not to get hit coz Raichu was always way underleveled for what I was fighting. Hahahha

A notable 'noobish' thing I continue to do though is keep lower damage, higher PP moves on my pokemon while I am playing through the game with them... going across the ocean and fighting 872348 swimmers is easier with thundershock than thunderbolt. >_>;

I do fix up the moves before I battle competitively with them though.

Nah, you're right. I only know the german names exactly, so it's easy to do a mistake with other names for it.

Yea especially when there is no Fire storm, you probably meant Fire Blast.

In my R/B/Y I taught my Pidgeot
Fly
Wing attack
Mirror move
Sand attack

But it got me through the Elite 4 and Champion.

Fire Spin, how could I forget that, I remember putting that on my Charizard and Moltres in RBY mainly because the move looked so cool in the anime.....how I was so wrong. I used Fire Blast over Flamethrower for that same reason, I mean who wouldn't after that epic battle between Blaine's Magmar and Ash's Pikachu/Charizard.....ah good times.

Well, if I remember correctly, back in RBY, Fire Spin made the opponents incapable of attacking at all for those turns it damaged them. You could spam Fire Spin if you were faster, and not take a single hit (counting on accuracy). It was a godly move.

I've a few terrible ones.

Umbreon (Silver)
Zap Cannon
Iron Tail
Shadow Ball
Some other move.

Tanks didn't exist to me back in G/S/C. It was obliterate as soon as possible or nothing.

Your Umbreon pleases me. There is no such thing as a terrible Umbreon.

I quite agree, Profesco. Fire Spin was AWESOME back in Gen I, when you could trap the opponent with it indefinitely. ;006;
