This is the productionary equivalent of SM144 (not giving any statement at which is/will be better), eh. Packing out the Character Designer and Chief Animation Director as Animation Director for this.

Tomiyasu storyboarding just gives it an even higher production value.

And it's all directed by a newcomer that's never worked as a director before and another newcomer that's never worked on Pokemon before!

About Ayumi Moriyama, apparently their imdb mentions M20 and M21 as an in-between artist and ooh boy was a Key animator in SM144 sooo yeah. Makoto Oga is just straight up a new director.

Oga is a Yokai Watch director, probably got moved over to Pokemon because they needed another person to get the episode done.

That and the fact she’s literally unimportant and irrelevant to the plot at this point.. she existed in JN purely to show Chloe a Sylveon..
And she contributed NOTHING to Chloe’s development because Chloe still doesn’t know what she wants to do

Methinks people are bitter Serena wasn't namdropped (or even shown I think) when Chloe recapped the Eeveelutions she met in her finale ep.
This is true. She wasn’t even ****ing shown.
Then again the Flareon and Jolteon COTDs weren’t shown either, but Serena’s Sylveon was shown.

At this point in Alola we have seen Ash with the trophy already
Yeah, but I don't think we were supposed to. And besides, no one was actually convinced until the episode actually aired.

Something someone else pointed out that I just realized. Alain was the first person in the whole tournament to realize how much of a threat that Rillaboom was. That's why he sent Charizard against it. My man was smart, even if he lost like a damn idiot in that match.
