No, what was brought up and hammered down in it’s debut was that it had multiple paths and it was proposed that the reason why Eevee is currently unable to evolve might be because its unsure of what path it wants to take.

It was never stated nor implied that Chloe’s Eevee doesn’t want to evolve or that it was completely impossible for it to evolve.

If anything that would contradict the whole story they are telling with Chloe’s Eevee which is that it has multiple paths it can take but it is unsure which one to choose.

That doesn’t really mean much as there have been quite a few instances where some people would claim something would or wouldn’t happen only for the exact opposite to happen.

The point is regardless of how people may feel/“know” Chloe Eevee won’t evolve, the reality is no actually definitively knows which path Eevee will take or whether it will evolve or not.

What we know now is that she cant evolve. What we know from previous Eevees that didnt evolve (Lana, Ilima or Virgil) is that they didn't evolve due a special gimmick (Sandys hair/Ilimas Zmove) or isnt sure yet in what he wants to evolve (Virgils Eevee IIRC). Lets assume she cant evolve for a second, then a gimmick would be a solution to still make her stand out.

That is not a fact no matter how you try to argue it. Also it’s never once been established in the anime that a Pokémon that can Gigantamax can’t evolve.

They specifically mentioned multiple times that Eevee has different evolution/paths it could take.

Also if Eevee was truly completely incapable of evolving then it would be pointless for them to emphasize that it can evolve into different Pokémon and to come up with the idea that the reason it’s not evolving is because it’s unsure what path it takes.

Honestly given what we’ve seen of Journeys so far if one thing is clear it’s the fact is we don’t truly know what path Eevee will take and whether it will evolve or not.

Any thoughts that it’s definitely going to Gigantamax, Evolve, or not evolve is just speculation nothing more and nothing less.

Let’s not forget this is the same series where some people tried to claim that it’s so obvious that Ash won’t catch a Dragonite in episode 10, that Sobble is going to Ash while Galarian Farfetch’d is going to Goh, that Sobble isn’t evolving, that Goh isn’t going to keep Suicune.

And yet at the end of the day look what happened despite it being so obvious that those events would play out that way instead they played out the exact opposite.

Thinking these episodes are pointless would be like saying they should've just evolved Farfetch'd right away against Rindo 'because we all knew that it would end up evolving' rather than training against Wikstrom etc first.

I don't mind knowing how something will end, it's the journey towards it that's interesting.

It’s not denial. The fact of the matter is we don’t know if Chloe’s Eevee or not.

So at this point what path it takes or whether it will evolve or not is just speculation.

Plus let’s not forget there have been plenty of things that have happened in this series that some people claimed that it is obvious that it would or wouldn’t happen only for the exact opposite to happen.

I’m not saying that it’s confirmed that Chloe’s Eevee will evolve, or that it will definitely happen.

However ridiculous to try and sit there and act like it’s a fact that Chloe’s Eevee will not evolve, when in all reality the fact of the matter is no one has any actual way of being able to definitively say what will happen to Chloe’s Eevee as no one here has access to that information.
