Nah Nessa's popularity is carried by Yuri shipping with Sonia and other types of "Fanart" that shall not be mentioned but we all know what I'm talking about
Just deal with it as it is nothing that we can do about....milo and Nessa rivalry is just do within glass vs water thing

I doubt any of his regional powerhouses would stand a chance against Eternatus. Even in its base form. He would definitely need to partner with a Legendary if he were to face it again

Considering that Satoshi's beaten several Legendaries with his strongest Pokemon, I don't see why Mugendina would be any different. But the easiest solution to this entire debate would be for Dande to simply not capture Mugendina in the first place, or at least for him to not actually use it in battle even if he does get it.

Oh it would definitely be different. He has never defeated a Mascot Legendary, which is a category Eternatus would definitely fall under. Tapu Koko, Regice, or Latios don't even compare

I'm just speaking hypothetically. Who's synonymous with being the strongest Pokemon: Mewtwo. Who's presently the strongest Pokemon. Eternatus. Who's presently the strongest trainer: Leon. Who's the challenger: Ash. Have Mewtwo regain the title of strongest Pokemon.
If by chance Ash caught Mewtwo have that be the undercard (Double Knockout with Eternatus) with Gigantimax Pikachu and Gigantimax Charizard be the main event. I honestly would be satisfied have the teams be rounded out. But the arguments can be made later all what we know for certain is that climax is Ash vs Leon in the PWC. As I do believe that Ash and Leon could have probably the single greatest fight in the show if presented properly. Is that what their going for.

Dragonite -- Dragapult
Lucario -- Undetermined
Sirfetch'd -- Undetermined
Gengar -- Undetermined
Mewtwo -- Eternatus
GigaPikachu -- GigaCharizard

With PM resetting lore closer to the games I’m interested in how they’ll portray Mewtwo. But at the same time the character is iconic...because of the anime’s changes? Mewtwo is more of a sentient and human-like anti-Villain character in the anime and less a reckless monster. Will this Mewtwo be more of something akin to Red’s from Pokémon the Origin? Or will it be the old versions with character arc. based around identity issues and their places in the world? Don’t think Satoshi’s is catching it, not right after a major storyline arc. and one episode of one episode of all things.

Speaking of which it’s kind of funny how in PM they’re really going through all the KAAAAANNNNTTTtttttoooooooooo Pokémon debuts like in OS. I feel like every other episode fill a slot in Gou’s Rotomsmartphone or is a COTD. I guess I’m enjoying the little episodic lore portion of this series with at least crafting some enjoyable narrative lore episodes expanding on the world a bit? Ptera coming from Secret Amber, Kairyu island, Gengar’s curse, girl Pikachu, Flygon’s Desert Siren powers, Power Plant Thunders, etc.

Well if Leon catches Eternatus, then it makes it easier for Ash to catch Zacian. Again at some point this pattern of Ash not catching a legendary Pokémon is going to end eventually and we have already seen other trainers own legendary Pokémon and use them in past series. So to see legendary Pokémon get caught and actually battle with their respective trainers would actually be interesting to watch and would change the battles up from the norm.

Since when has Ash beaten a legendary with a BST of 680 let alone 690?

All legendaries/mythicals Ash beat were 600 and below.

The moment Ash beats Dialga or Kyogre then I'll see your point about Eternatus.

I know many people is against the idea, but in case this Mewtwo is the same from the first movie (he even descends like in his scene in the movie), it would be interesting if it reveals what happened to the rest of the Pokemon Clones after "Mewtwo Returns". I assume they were dispersed through the whole world, looking for a life of their own as regular Pokemon would do.

Oh no I'm definitely not knocking the Sapphics at all! (Bi here)
I was just saying that's probably (one of) the reasons how Nessa got popular. (It's also the same reason why Raihan got so popular honestly).

All the porn artist's on the other hand deserve the knocks tho

But WLW are drawing that stuff, too.

Otaku culture is all about that sort of thing, too.

The entire point of these characters is for us fans to be depraved.

PM2019 has never seemed desperate for me, I guess it's an impression that's easy to get if you don't like the series in general but I do so. Like all the "hype" moments like Satoshi's old gen captures DO genuinely make me happy. And what's wrong with doing an episode about Mewtwo when Mew is a core part of one of the mc's goals. It's not like the series ACTUALLY relies on hype for most of its content, most of the episodes are just traditional fun one offs (which for some is a flaw but that's what Pokemon has always been for the most part, PM isn's more episodic than the original series, and surely we're not now saying that OS was bad).

"Directionless" is also a weird criticism for me. The show is about showing the Pokemon themselves, how they live with humans, different aspects of the world, and Satoshi and Gou's goals of battling and catching. And that's exactly what we get. Satoshi encounters stronger opponents, Gou encounters stronger captures, you don't need a literal traveling route to show proggression.

If Eternatus is weak enough to be captured by Leon, then there's no reason Ash couldn't defeat Eternatus, since he's aiming to defeat Leon who would be even stronger (since he would've caught Eternatus).

Calling the show directionless is an empty buzzword IMO. Structurally, it isn’t that different from previous shows. Ash has a long-term goal here (normally it is the league, but here it is the PWC) and there are episodes that have him working towards that goal and there are episodes that are mainly “filler”. This is what the series has been for over 20 years.

It kinda is directionless:
-Instead of do several episodes of his "depression", they use a filler in between where he seems just fine. It seems also random and one episode.
-The fact that there is no real story or progression, aside of Satoshi PWC and I guess Gou's captures?
-The suddenly outburst of Legendary pokemon in the upcoming episodes. While in the episodes 20-39 no legendary appeared with the exception of Celebi.
-The fact that Satoshi climbs up the Super Class offscreen is just odd. He went through all that trouble to come in the Super Class in the first place.
-The several episodes of Gou after a row 32,33,35,36,37,38,40 (this is an observation, no critisism). Yes Satoshi may played a part in this, but the main focus is Gou.
-All the captures of Satoshi were spread, but since Riolu, Dragonite and Gengar, Farfechted took a backseat.
-If I remember correctly (idk where I read it) the director doesnt know what way they wanna go with Gou.
-The fact they made Pikachu jealous (of ALL pokemon), he wasnt jealous of A-G or any other pokemon.

Compared to other series, it feels different. Besides should we compare series to each other?

NOTE : THESE ARE OBSERVATIONS, NO OPINIONS.

Is anyone else thinking this could be another double episode? The wording makes it seem like they're supposed to be two separate titles rather than one

Also I'm wondering if this episode will feature the original Mewtwo, the one from the Genesect movie, or a new one that recently escaped whatever lab it came from

Tbh I don't think PM is desperate ENOUGH. I want that Mewtwo catch lmaoo

And in this series a lot of the "fillers" are Gou capture eps so even if one doesn't enjoy his side of the story you can't really say they're not proggressing in any way.

I'd also argue PM has a clearer direction than SM since we actually know what the end point is and each of Satoshi's battles bring him closer to said point whereas in SM the league wasn't introduced until like a year + in and the Grand Trials weren't actual requirements for anything, Satoshi just did them cause he could (not trying to turn this into "See, it's SM that's bad actually, I think SM's the best series lol, I just think this "directionless" thing is just, well like you say, a buzzword. And I mean look I don't wanna talk down on anyone who truly feels that way but I haven't read a good argument for it yet).

Hopefully the "revival" of Mewtwo means that it's gonna be the same one from the original movie.

The usage of the word revival wouldn't make sense if it wasn't a return of one of the already established Mewtwos. Revival (a noun) in the sense that they are using it means making a return or comeback that brings someone or something back into relevance. If it were referring to a new Mewtwo it wouldn't make sense to use the word revival as a new Mewtwo has never been encountered and thus wouldn't be making a return. The way they are using revival also wouldn't make sense if they intended it to mean the creation of a new Mewtwo. Mewtwo never existed naturally in the wild. Humans made Mewtwo.

If it were referring to the creation of a new one they wouldn't have used the word revival, they would use the word birth because Mewtwo is an enhanced replica of Mew. If they intended it mean the creation of a new one using the word revival, they wouldn't have used Mewtwo's name. It would be: "Battling and Getting, The Revival of Mew" as Mewtwo is an attempt to revive Mew from fossils, albeit in an enhanced form. A new Mewtwo instead of the established ones would have the problem of needing an origin or an introduction taking away action time from the episode. It would be much easier and less controversial for the writers to use one of the Mewtwos already there.

As it has been a very long time since we've had an update on how the original Mewtwo is doing (yes, I'm aware of the remake) and since the kids would be most familiar with the original Mewtwo, it stands to reason it would be he who appears. The original Mewtwo is also much more popular and liked than the second one. (Still kind of hope they meet and get together.) The title "Battling and Getting: The Revival of Mewtwo" would make the most sense if it were one of the two existing Mewtwos as they would be "making a comeback or return."

As for the battling and getting part, that's been described as Ash's goal in the movies for a long time and doesn't actual mean Mewtwo will either be battled or captured. They are the protagonists goals in the series. Even if they were to battle on of the two Mewtwos, it wouldn't mean that either one would have turned evil or attacked. A battle only needs to be requested considering how extremely intelligent Mewtwo is. Or Goh could have just gone gung-ho and tried to capture Mewtwo, making him/her defend his/her self to avoid being captured. A new dumber weaker Mewtwo would also defeat the purpose of a Mewtwo appearance. Most people don't want just any Mewtwo and love the character as he/she is portrayed in Mewtwo Strikes Back (Evolution) or the Genesect Movie. Throwing us any Mewtwo isn't going to make people happy.
